Ok so I’ve been thinking about this since reading Home economics and this idea will never leave my head unless I write it down somewhere:

So picture Ilya and Shane already committed to each other, said they love each other, know they’re it for each other BUT Scott has not come out yet (this idea says a bit of a fuck you to the timeline so y’all can do with that what you will).

They get outed and since they’re the first, there is no precedent and thus no set expectations for what the league will do. Crowell (being the asshole he is) decides there’s too big of a “conflict of interest” and that they’ve embarrassed the league and since they refuse to split, him and his cronies decide that they have to go so they ban them from ever competing in the MLH again. Shane and Ilya are still in their 20s, they don’t want to retire yet, but no way in hell are they willing to be separated again. They went their whole careers so far living in separate places on separate teams hoping that their loyalty to their teams would help show how much they respect the game whenever they decide to come out but now that that plan has crashed and burned they decide fuck it if the MLH won’t let us play and be together we’ll go somewhere that will.

So they start looking into playing for a league in Europe instead. Various European teams from a bunch of different European leagues obvi start trying to convince them to come play for them. They don’t care that Shane and Ilya are queer and a couple, they’re the best hockey players of the generation and the world knows it, MLH’s loss is their gain and they’ll do whatever it takes to get those guys on their team. Dealers choice where they pick to end up signing with, on if it’s still to Zurich or not, but they move there, buy a nice house together, end up on a team together that accepts them and respects them too, and are finally able to have both hockey and each other. They’re able to actually enjoy their lives freely and realize how much the overall oppressive atmosphere of the MLH was weighing them down and dulling their love of the sport. When they play together now they’re able to relight their love of hockey and they’re enjoying every second of it. They’re also playing the best damn hockey of their lives. Everything is perfect for them now, they get hockey, they get an amazing team full of guys that feel like a family, they get each other, maybe they even get married at this point. But for the MLH everything is going to shit now.

The MLH now takes on insane INTERNATIONAL criticism for kicking out their two best players and letting them end up apart of whichever European team they moved to. Not to mention now that they don’t play for the MLH there is nothing stopping them from playing in the Winter Olympics (I’ve just decided Ilya has non Russian citizenship by then) so the world is pissed that they now have to face these two at the Olympic level too as they’re playing the best hockey ever together. The MLH is losing sponsors left and right, over time closeted players and coming out and immediately moving to Europe to play there instead, there’s calls to remove anyone in admin positions that had anything to do with firing Shane and Ilya, and the MLH is scrambling to restore some kind of order. They end up begging Shane and Ilya to come back hoping that would help as their league tanks in rankings but the boys are like mmmm no thanks, we’re actually all settled here and it’s more fun so I think we’re gonna stay. The MLH ends up losing a great deal of respect and credibility, with everyone caring more about the various European leagues instead since they have all the best former MLH players now anyways, and they end up sinking into disrepair as Shane and Ilya are thriving, completely oblivious to the state of their former league now since they protect their peace, and they get their happy ever after without having to sacrifice their success or their love.

She-Ra is offically leaving Netflix.

So some months ago, I made a post about She-Ra potentially leaving Netflix and now unfortunately, we have a date confirmed. Febuary 21 of next year, a little over three months from now. I know there are people who are thankfully making backups of the show (like one my friend @catras-breakup-song made, who also informed me about the delisting date just now) but legally, there's gonna be no way to watch SPOP.

To clear things up as to why this is happening for those who don't know, about ten ish years ago Dreamworks made an exclusivity deal with Netflix to distrubte many of their shows, a deal that is now expiring. This time last year, Voltron was delisted from Netflix and now we have She-Ra too and it honestly really hurts. But that is sadly a reality in our current media hellscape.

I won't doompost on this post, because I just want to inform everyone of what is happening. I do not know if She-Ra's ever gonna find a new streaming home (Voltron still hasn't at time of this writing) and thats a big IF considering things currently. I can only be glad that people are taking the steps to preserve this wonderful show.

Anyway, remember to save Febuary 21st as the date and get your last big rewatches of the show done before then if you wanna do so offically. We've got three months, friends, lets make the most of them.

I wholeheartedly believe that James Potter would be the type of man to have the most unhinged collection of reaction memes ever and he would use them in every conversation. Like there’d be so many that it leaves his friends wondering where the fuck he gets them from and when/if they will ever end

The Marauders (especially Sirius) would 100% try to match his freak and then realize they’ll never be able to have a meme collection that extensive even if they pool theirs together

Regulus (or Lily if that’s your cup of tea) would act disappointed or like they’re above that kinda thing but would definitely secretly love it
