Apparently the thing getting hit is a M109 Howitzer, which was designed by... General Motors! At the time the second locomotive involved here was built, the name of its builder, EMD, stood for... the Electro-Motive Division (of General Motors). What I'm getting at here is that this is arguably brand-to-brand friendly fire. (EMD has since been sold to another company and now stands for Electro-Motive Diesel)

Someone had bought the front of a GM EMD Diesel locomotive from Victorian Railways, put it in their front garden and arranged the roof to look like a train smash.

EMD/Clyde Engineering - ML2 (Victorian Railways B Class)

Unfortunately it got taken out sometime in the 1990s. 😔 The location is 102 Greville Street. The complex has changed a lot since this was here.

As for where they got a cab in the first place... in 1988 B67 was retired and scrapped... except for one of the cabs, which became the display this post is basically all about.

That's right, these things were double ended! As for which end got stuck into the station hotel... I think it's the one on the left here. There's a smudge under the headlight that the display also has.

When the cab was removed from the building, a fellow by the name of Darren Hodges picked it up. He still had it as of 2015, but strangely it seems to have disappeared after that.

You can actually see an interesting detail here. When the B-Classes were built they had doors at the front, but they got welded up later on in life. The rust has actually revealed where the door is/was.

If I've ever seen one.

RDC stands for Rail Diesel Car. That means it can move around on its own. Presumably it's being used as a railcar here cause it looks like one and it can control itself for whatever tomfoolery happens in the show. Curiously the windows have been plated over. I guess they did that for the show. As for the Pioneer Zephyr connection... they were made by the same company! Everything Budd got their hands on was made of stainless steel though. I hesitate to call them related. Zephyrs have a dedicated power car and the earlier ones have semi-permanently coupled cars. The RDCs are easier to work with… every car is a power car so you can just slap more on if need be.

(Side tangent, The Pioneer Zephyr is just the first one made. Burlington Route named all their trainsets of that style the [X] Zephyr. Really the Zephyrs deserve their own post, they're great fun!)

Bombardier - Shoreliner 1 Cab Car

Here's what it looks like from the front.

The name, "Tear of the Clouds" comes from a lake in New York. Naming rolling stock is a long standing railroad tradition. As for what a Cab Car is, it's, well, a cab at the other end of the train from the locomotive. This lets the engineer drive the train from the rear and not have to waste time running the locomotive around.
