If you’re healthy you probably don’t realize how demoralizing it is to spend all day in a hospital gown
But now a new collaboration is designing fashionable hospital gowns to encourage sick teens that they’re not “just a hospital patient.” See how they react when they try their new robes on.

This is amazing! AMAZING. Chronic illness does its best to strip you of your dignity, your control, and your identity. This is a great example of how things that might seem trivial to a healthy person, can make all the difference in someones life.
My vagina literally hurts so bad rn.
Why call it midnight when you can call it moon noon?
When you realize that you literally have 0 friends.
I hate third shift!!!!
So as anyone can guess, working 3rd is hard. It fucking sucks AND it's draining me of EVERYTHING!! I've always struggled with weight, (keeping it on, which isn't as glamorous as you think it is) never being able to eat, not seeing the sun (like ever, seriously, I literally get a headache now every time I have to go out during the day) your schedule is now sleep and work. Forget anything else. You will have to straight up force yourself. (School and any extra activities or hobbies? Gone. Friends? Do caffeine and vitamin supplements count because you live off those now.) It has dropped my immune system from haven't been actually sick (other than little coughs and sniffles) since I was 13 (I'm 22 now) to I've had the flu for almost 2 months now. My job literally sucks, because I am a 3rd shift server... at a diner with a drive thru, next to a bar.
Why
This is demonstrating why you absolutely do not pour water on a grease fire.
holy shit
Okaaaay. If any of you actually have a grease fire in the kitchen put the lid on the pan. It will suffocate the flames. Don’t pour water on it, and don’t freak out. Cook safely!
Or throw flour on it to smother it.
/quick safety announcement
NO, DO NOT USE FLOUR, DO NOT USE FLOUR TO SMOTHER A FIRE.
YOU HAVE TO USE BAKING SODA.
Throwing flour into a fire can cause it to combust and make the fire worse because FLOUR/SUGAR IS FLAMMABLE. One cup of flour into a grease fire can have the explosive force of dynamite.
The reason you use baking soda is that it releases carbon dioxide when heated, and CO2 is a fire suppressant.
REBLOGGING FOR LAST COMMENT TO SAVE LIVES
WOW I did not know that I literally always thought it was flour you were supposed to use
SHOUT IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
I can definitely nth the baking soda!
We had a kitchen fire, and that put it out super fast!
If you need help cleaning up the oil after the fact, cat litter works soaks it up really nicely, and you can sweep/vacuum it up after the fact.
Know the difference, it can save your life
Make sure the kitty litter is clay, not wheat or ‘yesterday’s mews.’ Non-organic material matters here.

BLESS THESE REPRESENTATIVES
oh ya’ll thought that was it? nah, there’s plenty more where that came from.
Remember these names, they're good people, and Trump will destroy them for not bowing down. These people need to be protected.
I would like us to take a moment to appreciate our president Barrack Obama and all that he has done for us because he is a great man and leader and he will be missed
Dog owners please be aware.
REBLOG THIS PLEASE
This is Snopes-confirmed. Also be aware this is very common in sugar free food of many kinds. The retriever puppy who I know of who died of xylitol poisoning got hold of a pack of sugar-free gum.
Most people I know had that one movie as a kid; that one movie that they would watch over and over and over to the resigned acceptance of their parents. I’ve always thought that movie says something about a person. What was your movie?
pokemon the movie!!! and then,,, the second pokemon movie!!!!!!! hehe
all the studio ghibli movies
Um… Tremors… yea… I was a strange kid
Wheel of Fortune?
It calls me.
Someone twisted this Jewish family’s menorah into the shape of a swastika
Naomi Ellis and her her husband Seth spent Friday morning — the morning after the sixth night of Hanukkah — trying to explain to their three young sons why someone had vandalized the menorah the family had put out on their yard by twisting the metal pieces into the shape of a swastika.
The Ellis family had only built the 7-foot-tall menorah on the front lawn of their home in Chandler, Arizona, because their sons, ages 5, 7 and 9, had asked their parents if the family could decorate their home like the neighbors did for Christmas, the Washington Post reported. Read more.

This is America in the 21st century. Please reblog, even if you’re not Jewish. Especially if you’re not Jewish. Spread awareness and let your Jewish followers know that we’re not alone.

Do you know how many dogs I’ve met that get scared or anxious around men because in their previous home men hit them? A lot, and they are very protective of the women who have adopted them now.
Men who are violent towards women are often violent towards animals as well. They think we’re all chattel. If a man wants you to choose between your dog or cat or him, dump the guy. Those animals will love you for the rest of your life, loyal and true.
Actually, I have something to add.
The other day I saw a story where a woman was asking why her dogs had suddenly started growling at her boyfriend whenever he was in the same room as her son.
And my immediate thought was ‘that boyfriend has hurt the kid somehow.’
Spoilers: that was exactly the case.
Trust ur dogs when they say something is off.
The first time my sister came to visit, via plane, after I got my dog, pupper growled at her and wouldn’t go near her for the first day. Next visit was by car (two day drive)and pupper LOVED my sister. They snuggled and played and none of us could figure out why the change. We thought maybe the scent of my sisters cat had lingered on her clothes, making that first visit a rough one. Whereas when she came by car, the scent had had time to wear off. Well that was partially true…
Fast forward about six months when I went north to visit my family. My sister walked into my parents’ house and pupper ran to greet my sister. Stopped dead in her tracks and started growling and barking. Hackles raised, full protection mode. My sisters husband had just walked in behind her.
My precious puppy wanted NOTHING to do with him. She barked, growled, ran away, and sat between him and my sister. Y'all my dog had spent maybe a weekend a half around my sister but protected her like this was her flesh and blood.
Eventually, my sister filed for divorce on grounds of “Extreme and repeated mental, emotional, and sexual abuse.” Divorce was final in less than a month because her claims were substantiated.
Trust the dog, honey. They KNOW.
I’ve never owned dogs, but I used to work with horses (which are a lot like big dogs).
There was this one horse I worked with named Tonto. He was a doll. He followed me like a puppy, snuck treats out of my pocket, he was the sweetest thing. We were practically inseparable.
A guy I was considering dating came to visit me one day, and Tonto wanted NOTHING to do with him. Normally well behaved, he shoved himself between us and would NOT let this guy near me. He was stomping, acting really aggressive, and tried to bite the guy. This horse was practically dragging me back toward the barn. At that moment, despite being like, 17, I knew something was up, and ultimately things didn’t pan out for guy and me.
A year later I found out he had lied about his age (he said he was 18 but he was actually 27) he was arrested for sexually assaulting an 11 year old girl.
TRUST THE ANIMALS.
Okay, so - say you didn’t take this advice. Say you didn’t listen to your dog and you moved in with/married the guy or girl who ended up abuses you. You have the money saved to leave. You know you need to go.
But.
But.
Your furbaby.
What are you going to do about your furbaby?
I cannot tell you how many women stay because they think they can’t take their furbaby to a shelter with them while they transition to an apartment or make arrangements to disappear or move to a different state/country/whatever.
Don’t. Do not do that. Get your ass to a shelter. There are social services for your furbaby while you get safe. So get help from DV services, and let your furbaby get help from the orgs that help furbabies. I am not sure about your area specifically, but in Atlanta and greater Georgia, we have Ahimsa House which specifically takes in the pets of DV victims. I know other services like this exist, although I can’t name them. The number for Ahimsa House is (404) 452-6248 and I bet you everything I have that they’ll at least have a place for you to look in your area so you can get your furbaby safe while you take care of yourself. Do not let your love for your pet stop you from loving your pet. Science has proven that they love you like you love them. It’s not what they would want. Take care of yourself.
