I know I said I wouldn’t do any Marvel based posts after Mr. Ditko passed away, but this has to be known. This has to be shared. If only for Stan Lee’s sake. I cannot believe how horrible people can be. And to hear his own daughter is treating him so shabilly. This breaks my heart.
Anyone who claims to be a real Marvel fan will reblog this on all social media platforms. And you’ll write to the actors of the Marvel movies to help us also. It seems like only the actors and us, the fans, are the ones who really care about Mr. Lee anymore. Please guys. We have to help him. NOW.
Stan Lee is a hero to a lot of us. It’s time that we be a hero for him. And even if you don’t like Marvel, anyone who doesn’t tolerate elder abuse should help!
Stan Lee changed the world of entertainment as we know it by diverging from the norm and encouraging the acceptance of those who are different (X-Men mutants in 1963).
Stan Lee, at the age of 95, is giving up on life because everyone close to him is depending upon him like vultures.
Please please please reblog this. Maybe someone with influence can help him. Maybe the state will step in if enough people but them about it. Maybe we can make Stan’s twilight years enjoyable instead of the hell he’s going through.
I am so angry at the world for making this man feel like he doesn’t have anything worthy in his life. Stan Lee is a hero who helped many of us with the universe he created. And now we should help him.
theres a new product by verzion called “hum” that allows your parents to track your car and places you go, if your parents are controlling like mine please check under your steering wheel to make sure that they havent installed this
you can read more about it here, and here- this excerpt sums up what information Hum will send:
“a car’s owner will be able to get notified on their phone when the vehicle leaves a pre-determined area or drives faster than a set speed… [Hum] will enable location tracking and a driving log, which measures travel times, engine idle times, and average speeds.”
To add to this nightmare, I’ve just heard of a thing called ForceField where people get to monitor and block internet sites that you’re going on if they don’t approve.
It tells the user what sites/apps you’re going on, for how long you’re on them, and WHERE YOU ARE ON AN UPDATING MAP.
So you know if you’re in an abusive household and use sites like tumblr to escape and talk to friends, you could be cut off from that.
They say “it’s not spyware” but it sure sounds controlling and creepy to me.
Life 360 is another tracker. My parents have used it on me, not allowing me to delete it from my phone, and sometimes even demanding selfies to prove I was where the map said. (As if I’d go anywhere without my phone)
SpectorPro is another one. Afaik it can’t track location, but it takes screenshots roughly every 20sec to allow the installer to watch a video of your computer activity. It also tracks all keystrokes, so passwords aren’t safe, and records any website you visit + the duration. It’s incredibly creepy and a huge violation of privacy, and was one of the cornerstones of my abuse as a kid.
It had been years since the last time you saw your brother. One day you had left for school, with your brother sound asleep in his room, and when you returned, he was gone. And when you had asked your father about it, he claimed that Warren was in a better place now, somewhere where his “freakishness” wouldn’t influence you. That day, you vowed to yourself that you would find your brother, at the first chance you got.
Over the next ten years, you distanced yourself from your father, only speaking to him if absolutely necessary. In your younger years it was more difficult, he wanted to keep a close eye on you to make sure you didn’t develop a mutation like your brother. As you grew into your teen years, it became a lot easier, your father got deeper into his work and you stayed away from home more. Then, it happened. You were 16 years old when it appeared. A mutation. Lucky for you, it wasn’t a physical mutation like Warren’s. You had the power of teleportation and reading minds. At first, hearing so many thoughts was deafening, but you soon figured out how to mute them and focus on one.
Two years later, on your 18th birthday, you ran away, well more like moved out since you were now a legal adult. You emptied your bank account, packed your bags, and left with only a note to explain where you went.
When you left, you didn’t cry, or feel any sort of sadness. You were relieved that you didn’t have to live in constant fear of your father finding out, and that now you didn’t have to hide who you truly were anymore.
After you left, you traveled to different mutant safe houses around the country, asking anybody if they have information about your brother. After two years of nothing, you were about to give up, when a shapeshifter told you that she heard of someone fitting his description in a mutant fight club in Germany. She also told you that she was traveling there to shut it down, so you decided to join her. You knew it was a risk, but a risk you were willing to take to find your brother.
You were standing outside the club, wearing little to nothing to help blend yourself in with the other men and women standing around you. As you entered the club, the sound of yelling and fighting and the smell of sweat and alcohol drowned your senses. As you moved farther into the club, the shapeshifter split away from you, leaving you by yourself. So, you ventured even further, and you were met with a large fighting cage in the middle of the building. You could see the electricity running through the fencing, and two mutants inside. One with blue skin and a tail, the other with large angelic looking wings and blonde hair. Warren.
One second you’re watching your brother struggle to catch the other mutant, the next everything is in chaos. You watched as your brother flew above everyone, escaping the gunfire. You followed him out of the building, once you were out, he collapsed.
“Warren!” you called out as you ran towards him, he quickly got up into a defensive stance, not letting you get near him.
“How do you know my name?” he snarled.
“Warren, it’s me. You’re sister,” as soon as the words left your mouth, he lunged at you, but you were too fast. You stood in the place he was standing as he fell to the ground, confused as to where you went. When he got back up, he turned back to look at you.
“Why’d you come looking or me?! I don’t want anything to do with you or that monster,” he questioned.
“I came looking for you because I needed my brother back. Living in that hell-hole was awful without you. When I came home that day, and you were gone, I vowed to myself that once I got out of there, I would find you. You’re my only family, Warren, and I’m your only family.”
“Bullshit.”
“What?”
“You were probably treated like a god-damn princess after you told him what I am. He probably thought you were a savior for outing another freak of nature. After he sent me away I vowed that if I ever saw you again, I would kill you for making my life a living hell. I was tortured, beaten, experimented on because of you,” he accused, with every word coming closer to you.
“You have it all wrong. I tried to stop him from finding you. He manipulated you into thinking I hated you. I was scared for you. I thought he was going to kill you! I was 8 years old thinking my baby brother was going to die at the hands of my own father! I wasn’t the one who put you through all of this, he is. He’s the one who threw you out like you were trash. Not me,” you frantically explained, tears coming to your eyes.
“Does he know you’re one?”
“Yes. I left before he could do anything to me.”
“Prove it.”
“Warren, you just saw me-”
“I said. Prove it.”
So, reluctantly, you did. You teleported from standing in front of him to standing behind him.
Now do you believe me? You telepathically communicated with him. When he whipped around to face you, he had a look of surprise on his face.
“So it is true, you are like me.”
“Well, not exactly like you since you have these big-ass wings, and I-”
“I missed you, Y/N.” he interrupted by engulfing you in a hug.

After your last encounter with Winston you believed you had finally gotten rid of him. And him ignoring you only supported your beliefs. At first, you were happy. Happy that you were able to stand up for yourself and to play Winston at his own game, but that happiness slowly turned into regret. You missed the attention and the fun you had when you messed around with Dallas. Your encounters with him put some excitement in your life. But you wouldn’t admit that to anyone especially to him.
Little did you know, your life was about to become a hell of a lot more exciting.
It seemed like a normal Saturday night, you were at one of Buck’s parties with a few of your friends. You were drinking and dancing, things a normal young adult does with their Saturday nights. You were having so much fun, that you didn’t notice the guy staring you down, but not making a move. As the night continued, that’s all the guy did, was creepily stare at you from a far. Finally, when your friends had disappeared for the night with their boys or had gone home, it left you alone at Buck’s with no one to walk you home or spend the night with. There was the option of finding Dallas and asking him, but you thought that would be a bad idea.
So, you decided to begin the trek home, in the dark, late at night, alone. As you started walking, a sick feeling began to grow in your stomach, a feeling as if someone was following you. But as you kept looking behind you, the street laid barren, only you and the parked cars. As you continued, the feeling kept getting stronger, until you were abruptly pulled into an alley. You were shove up against the wall so hard that your head started spinning, not being 100% sober didn’t help either. When your vision became clear, you realized the attacker was someone from Buck’s party. You had walked past him several times to get more drinks over the course of the night.
“A pretty thing like you shouldn’t be walking alone at this hour, something could happen to you doll,” he breathed down on you, the stench of cheap beer and unbrushed teeth emitting from his mouth. Your nose scrunched up at the smell.
“Get off of me, you freak,” you insulted, trying to push him of, but it was no use. He was too strong, and you were too intoxicated.
“Now a lady shouldn’t talk like that, but by taking a look at you, you’re no lady. Which means that a knight in shining armor isn’t coming to your rescue, princess,” he growled as he dug his fingertips into your arms.
“That’s where your wrong buddy,” a voice said, ripping your capture from you. At the swing of a fist and a kick to the gut, your attacker was on the ground unconscious and your were face to face with the last person you’d expect. Dallas Winston.
“Oh, fuck me,” you groaned, earning the award-winning smirk from Dallas.
“Well princess, if-”
“Don’t even finish that sentence, Winston,” you cut him off before walking away and continuing your way home.
“You know a simple ‘thank you’ would suffice, princess. Or did I not just save your life?” he called after you, making you stop and turn around.
“Thank you,” you spat out at him.
“Actually, I take that back. A ‘thank you’ doesn’t suffice. I need a little more.”
“Like what, Winston? You want me to kiss your feet for being a decent human being for once?”
“No, I was thinking something a little different,” he insinuated.
“Dallas Winston you are so infuriating. You might as well be the you just knocked out, you’re so disgusting!” you yelled at him.
“Learn to take a joke, princess. I wasn’t being serious,” he chuckled, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it between his lips.
“You’re still a creep, Winston.”
“You were following me.”
“No, I wasn’t”
“Then how-”
“I was walking home from a friend’s. I heard you struggling and decided to be your ‘knight in shining armor’.”
You didn’t know if it was the alcohol running through your veins, or the lack of sleep, but you wanted to know why Dallas had decided to stop and help. He was known as the guy that didn’t care about anything, that didn’t have a kind bone in his body. So why did he decide to help you?
“Why?” you blurted out as Dallas was turning to walk away.
“Why what?”
“Why did you decide to help me?
“Do I have to have a reason to do something good?” he scoffed.
“Yes, because you’re not the type of person to go out of your way to help someone else. So why did you help me?” you kept pushing. You didn’t know why, but maybe, just maybe, it had to do with the feeling in your gut, begging and hoping, that he actually cared.
“I don’t know princess. Maybe it’s the fact that whenever you rejected me it actually hurt, which doesn’t ever happen. I’ve never been hurt because a stupid broad rejected me. Maybe it’s because whenever I made a move you bit back with a sassy or smart ass comment. But it’s probably because you gave me this feeling that I’ve never felt towards anyone. But you don’t have to worry about it because I got the message, that you’re not interested. So you’re welcome for helping you. I’ll see you around,” he burst out, as if he’s wanted to get it out for a long time. You stood there shocked, as anyone would if the resident bad boy confessed something like that to them. As you stood there, giving no response, Dallas huffed in annoyance and turned to walk away.
“Dallas, wait,” you called out, walking towards him.
“What, now?” he snapped, and as he turned around, he got his answer. Your lips on his. You finally got what you both wanted. Each other.

Over the course of a few weeks, Dallas Winston had obeyed your orders, and didn’t come any where near you. Which gave you relief and worry. Relief because you knew Winston wouldn’t bother you, but also worry because you believed that he was planning something. You kept that thought in the back of your mind, thinking that Dallas wasn’t that smart or devious. So, you went on with your life as you usually did.
But oh boy were you wrong. It was exactly 2 months after you had told Dallas off, you had just entered Buck’s when you spotted him. He was leaned up against the wall, a bottle of beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, his famous devilish smirk playing across his lips. You knew he also spotted you by the feeling of his eyes watching you as you moved across the room to meet one of your friends.
You had been having a conversation for about 20 minutes when felt his arms snake around your waist. You then gave your friend an annoyed look as Dallas began to speak.
“You know, princess. Most girls would be crawling back to me by now, but I guess you’re not like most girls,” he whispered in your ear, the stench of cigarettes and alcohol spilling out on your cheek.
“Your right Winston, I’m not like most girls. But you’re like most boys, you can’t comprehend what ‘no’ means,” you calmly bit back, taking a swig from your beer and earning an amused snort from your friend. You then felt Dallas angrily remove himself from you.
“What the hell is that suppose to mean?” he barked back, causing you to turn around and face him.
“It means that when someone tells you ‘no’, you either throw a fit or keep pressing until you get what you want. I’ve been with guys like you, Winston, and you’re old news. Learn how to take rejection and fuck off,” you told him then turned back to your friend while acting like nothing had just happened between you and Dallas.

The whole “rivalry” thing began the day you found out your brother, Warren, was a mutant. You had walked into his room, innocently looking for something, when you found him. His back was painted in blood, it dripping on the floor around him. You stood there in horror, watching your little brother try to file off the wings that began to sprout out of his back, not knowing what to do. Tears ran down your face as you imagined what your father would do when he found out. You were scared. Scared for your little brother.
“Warren,” you whispered at a barely audible volume. He whipped around, a bloody file in his hand. Your eyes met and you could see the fear and disgust in his eyes. There were tear stains on his cheeks, and more tears kept pouring out of his eyes.
“Don’t look at me,” he ordered, his voice shaky, “Please don’t tell dad, he’d kill me.”
“Warren,” you started.
“Get. Out. Get out and don’t tell anyone,” he snapped, wiping teas from his cheeks, and in the process smearing blood on his face. His blood. But instead of staying, instead of trying to help, you ran out of his room.
As you ran across the hall, trying to get to your room, you ran into your father. When he crouched down to see why you were crying, you cried harder.
“Y/N, sweety, what happened? Did your brother hit you?” he questioned, but you shook your head.
“Please...please do g-go in to Wa-Warren’s room. Please Dad, don’t,” you begged, grabbing onto your father’s suit and trying to pull him away from Warren’s door.
“Why? What’s wrong with Warren?” he wondered, ignoring your begging, and walked into Warren’s room.
For the next three days there was non-stop yelling and phone calls coming from your father’s office. You cried for the majority of those three days, you knew your father was going to do something horrible to your brother. You both knew your father hated mutants, his ideals and opinions had been beaten into you since you could talk and understand what he was saying. He believed that mutants were freaks of nature, and that they should be treated like ones. For those three days, you only imagined what your father would do. Maybe run experiments on him to try to find a cure, or kick him out onto the streets. You didn’t know what was going to happen, but you knew it was going to be bad.
When your father found you crying, he used it against Warren. He convinced your brother that you were crying because you were ashamed of being related to a mutant and that you were scared that you would become one too. But, you knew that wasn’t true, and you tried to tell Warren, but he didn’t believe you. Instead, he told you that he hated you and blamed you for your father finding out. And you blamed yourself, too.
Dallas Winston. There was a long list of words that you could use to describe him. Greaser, delinquent, asshole, prick, criminal, player, heart-breaker, son of a bitch, no good piece of shit. But the most important word to you was, boyfriend.
You two had met outside of Buck’s. You had just successfully fended off a drunk soc by yourself with only a switchblade and your fists. Which surprised Dallas, because the soc was about twice your size. You had turned around to o back inside when you spotted him leaning against the building, a lit cigarette loosely hanging out of his mouth.
“That was quite the show, princess,” he stated coolly as you walked past.
“Screw off, Winston,” you scoffed and walked inside. The only reason you knew his name was from the stories that you’ve heard. The rumors that were spread about him didn’t do him justice, because he was a lot worse than most assumed.
Your relationship with him began as a one night stand. Both of you were wasted and didn’t remember a thing from that night, only that you woke up naked next to him. As soon as you realized it was Dallas Winston that was sound asleep next to you, you got dressed and left.
After that, you avoided Buck’s and everywhere else that Dallas was known to hang out at. You didn’t want to get tied up with him, you had been with guys like him and it never ended well. So, you decided that avoiding him at all costs would be the best option. But, after a few weeks you became bored, and realized that your way of thinking was idiotic. He probably didn’t even remember what happened that night, or that it was you that he slept with. So, you decided to go back to Buck’s ad to stop avoiding certain places just because of Dallas Winston.
As soon as you stepped into Buck’s, you were greeted with the sound of loud music and the smell of cigarettes and booze. As you grabbed yourself a beer, someone grabbed your hips and pulled you into them. You immediately put your hand in your jacket pocket, reaching for your switchblade, when the stranger spoke.
“I haven’t seen you around here lately, I was beginning to think that you were avoiding me,” Dallas Winston’s voice whispered in your ear.
“Now why would I be avoiding you?” you calmly questioned, turning to face him and taking a sip from your beer.
“I asked myself that, because that night we shared was one of the best, and when I woke up and you were gone, I was pretty devastated,” he whispered, making your face flash. But you knew you had to keep you cool around him.
“Well you’re out of luck, Winston, because that was a one time thing,” you told him, which made a smirk appear on his lips.
“Now, that’s what you think, doll. But trust me, you’ll be back in my bed before you know it,” he predicted, twirling a piece of your hair between his fingers. In response, you whipped out your switchblade and pointed the tip at the base of Dallas’s neck.
“Try me, Dallas, but if you just try to lay a finger on me, I won’t hesitate to cut you,” you warned, then shoved past him and into the crowd, leaving a burning desire in his gut to have you as his and his alone.

Summary: Reader reads a file that they weren’t suppose to and Rick argues with them about his safety
Warnings: None
You didn’t want to find out this way. You didn’t want to have to snoop around to find out why he’s been so stressed and why he’s been coming home so late.
The file sat in your hands, the letters spelling out TOP SECRET were written in bright red ink across the cover. You knew that if you read the contents of the file you would be in deep shit with the government, but you couldn’t stop yourself, you had to know what was behind Rick’s behavior.
The second you opened that file you knew you shouldn’t have. The pages of villain profiles and reports of creating a team with them left your mouth agape. This is insane, you thought to yourself. These criminals were the most dangerous people in the world, and they chose Rick to lead them.
You slammed the file shut, tears coming to your eyes at the thought of your fiance being anywhere near those monsters. You knew that it was his job, but you couldn’t comprehend why the government would want anyone to be near those maniacs.
The sound of a door slamming took you out of your thoughts. You looked up to see Rick, his eyes fixated on the file in your hands.
“Tell me you didn’t read that,” he pleaded, but with the look on your face he already knew that you did.
“When were you going to tell me?” you quietly asked while setting the file on the counter.
“Y/N, it was top secret. I couldn’t tell you, and you weren’t suppose to read that file,” he explained, setting his things down and walking towards you.
“Why? Do I not have the right to know that my fiance will be leading a team of murderers? Or was I suppose to find out when someone comes knocking on our door to tell me that you were killed by one of those monsters?” you frantically questioned, tears coming to your eyes once again.
“Y/N, it’s perfectly safe,” he started.
“Perfectly safe?! Rick, those people kill other people for money! One of them can create fire with his bare hands and another on is a crocodile? How does that sound perfectly safe?!” you questioned, throwing your arms around for emphasis.
“It’s perfectly safe because we’re putting explosives in their necks and if they step out of line, they die. There is nothing to worry about,” he told you, but it didn’t convince you.
“I still don’t like it. There is still that risk of you getting hurt, or killed. You never know what they’re planning. You can’t trust them,” you mumbled, the tears starting to fall.
