It seemed that Hell was knocking on your doorstep. Time seemed to slow in agonizing pulses, and your very skin crawled as the pain tore through your abdomen and wrapped around your spine.
Your period had arrived once more.
You lay on your bed face down, a heating pad underneath your stomach and tylenol extra strength coursing through your veins. The desire to get out of bed and away from the heat source was non-existent, but your phone was just too far away to reach. You stretch out a hand and come up just half a foot short. You shift slightly and the pain roars in your stomach and up your back.
Nope, you think. Not worth it.
As much as being able to watch trashy reality shows helped to distract from the pain, maybe just laying here motionless was good too.
Laying there, trying to fall asleep to get away from the agony, you pouted, wishing that things were different and you didn't have to deal with this.
The sound of footsteps coming down the hallway alerted you to someone else's presence, but you elected not to attempt to twist your midsection into a pretzel of hellfire.
"Nobuuu, is that you?" you whined.
The footsteps grew closer until a large body lowered itself to your level and a face came into vision. The face that was stony to all but you was soft as your boyfriend's eyes carefully examined your expression.
"Nobu..." you whimpered.
"Yes?" he replied, his voice deep and rumbly.
"Can I have my phone?" You tried to look up through your eyelashes at him, but it was not very effective, seeing as you were laying down and your face kept pinching as your uterus tried to slam itself out of your body.
His lips turned up into a small smile. "Real Housewives?"
You nodded.
He nodded back and grabbed your phone, navigating to your favourite mind-numbing comfort show, but instead of simply handing it to you, he took it and crawled into your bed beside you and slid his arm under your neck, placing the phone perfectly in front of your face.
"Nobu, what are you--"
He shook his head, cutting you off. "Let me."
He pressed the play button with his thumb and let it play, his other hand drawing comforting circles on your back as the relaxing sound of jealous women filled your room.
Your cheeks filled with a blush, and the heat in your face distracted you from the deep ache in your abdomen. You snuggled into Aone's arm and let the heat of his body slowly ease the tension in your back.
Sunlight streamed in through your window, and you blinked slowly, the light far too bright for your tired self. You flipped around in bed only to come face to face with Shoyo. His bright orange hair was tousled and messy, and his eyes were closed peacefully as he continued to sleep. Your lips curved into a soft smile, and your fingers lightly traced the silhouette of his face.
Even the soft touch managed to pull him out of sleep, and he slowly came to. His eyes slowly opened, and the moment he noticed you, he was grinning. "Good morning!" he said happily, shifting forward to give you a kiss on the lips.
You grin back, shrugging off the urge to go back to sleep. "Good morning, Sho."
He glanced back at your alarm clock. "You're up earlier than usual."
"The sun," you complained.
He giggled. "Well, in that case, you go back to bed and I'll make us some breakfast." Making the least amount of disturbance as possible, he slid out of bed. "Rice or soup this morning?"
"Mmm, soup," you mumble back, closing your eyes again. "Thanks, Sho..."
"Anything for you, sweetheart."
Kenma
You knew that it took a lot to wake up Kenma when he was in deep sleep, so when you woke up before the sun was even out, you didn't feel guilty trying to move into the position of Little Spoon. Usually, it's easy to slide in between his arms and use his bicep as a pillow, but for some reason, this morning, everything was going wrong.
Your foot was tangled in the sheet, and your hair kept making its way into your mouth, and your pyjamas were twisting uncomfortably. With all the extra movement, it was no surprise that Kenma woke up.
He groaned as you accidentally elbowed him trying to adjust the covers. "Kitten, what are you doing?"
You sighed but continued to snuggle into him. "Sorry to wake you, Kenma, I didn't mean to."
He let out a light chuckle before holding you closer. "It's fine. Go back to sleep."
You happily complied.
Aone
You let out a deep sigh as you stretched out your arms into the sky. Waking up this early was not part of the plan, but here you were. You twisted onto your side to look at the handsome man beside you. The pale light of the rising sun highlighted his pale white hair and stoic face that scares off his opponents.
You lay there watching the sun slowly illuminate more and more of his face. How did you manage to land such an amazing man? Others thought he was scary, but he was one of the kindest, most thoughtful people you'd ever met. Sure, he didn't know how to approach people most of the time, but he wouldn't hurt a fly.
A small sigh escaped your lips, and the puff of air brushed against Aone's face. You were shocked to see his face wrinkle in surprise, then his eyes opened.
"How long have you been awake!" you squeaked, embarrassed that he caught you watching him.
"Long time," he said, yawning.
You smacked his shoulder and buried your face in the pillow. "Ugh, how could you do this to me!"
He simply chuckled and brushed your hair away from your face, revealing your blush. He didn't need to say anything; his expression said it all. You're so cute.
You sighed. "Fine. I forgive you. You better cuddle me to make up for it though."

You're in the middle of hugging him when you feel him chuckle. "What?" you ask. "What are you laughing about?"
"It's just... you're so short. I have to lean down to hug you." He rested his chin on the top of your head. "And I can do this!"
You let out a dramatic gasp. "Are you making fun of me?"
"What? No! I love my shortie." He sent you a blinding smile, which disappeared quickly after you turned around in a huff and started walking down the street. "Wait, babe, where are you going? The restaurant is the other direction."
You turned to face him for a moment and said snidely, "I don't know if I wanna go with you anymore. I might just go to Osamu's restaurant." You turn around again on your heels and start walking off again. You hear his footsteps behind you as he jogs to catch up.
"Wait, babe, no come back! I was just kidding!"
Osamu
You were helping in Onigiri Miya for the afternoon as one of Osamu's waitresses was out sick for the day. You'd been there for a few hours and you'd been working non-stop until closing. By the time everyone left, it was dark out.
You helped Osamu clean up the dining area, putting chairs up and sweeping the floor. He was heading to the back to grab a mop when he handed you the stack of menus. "Could you put these away in the storage room for me, love?"
You nodded happily. "Of course. Where do they go?"
"In the box on the third shelf to the left!" he called as he walked away. "It's labelled Menus."
You took the menus back to the room, turned to the left, then quickly realized your predicament. The third shelf was above your head. You looked at the box above you and sighed. Putting the menus in your hands to the side, you scootch the box an inch off the shelf. Then another inch. Another... Just until you could get your hands under it.
You were expecting a light box, but by the time it was tipping off the shelf you realized how wrong you were. The box fell to the ground with a hard thud as you dodged it.
Osamu was quick to run into the room. "What happened?!" He saw the box on the floor and you looking at him guiltily, then laughed. "What, are you too short to put them in?"
You crossed your arms, your cheeks flushing. "No... Your shelves are just too high."
He shook his head and put the menus in the box before putting it back up on the shelf. He turned to you and gently placed his forehead on yours. "Next time, love, just ask me for help. I'd rather it take two minutes longer to close than risk you getting hurt."
You sighed, but gave him a soft smile. "Okay."
Suna
He likes to take unflattering pictures of you from above and then show them to you with a smirk, saying, "This is how you look to me."
The last time he did it, you puffed out your cheeks in embarrassment and displeasure, looking away from him with a huff.
He took you by the shoulders and laid a gentle kiss on your temple. "Don't worry. It's cute."
"Oh yeah, well this is how you look to me," you retorted, pulling up a picture of a pug.
He stared at it for a solid seven seconds before he shook his head. "You don't want to start this war with me, do you babe?" He stares deep into your eyes, his gray-gold eyes holding you captive.
You hold his gaze for a moment before you sigh. "No..."
He chuckles. "That's what I thought."
Kuroo
The king of teasing. This man would be the kind to pat your head gently and make you think he was going to say something sweet before he leans down and grins in your face, saying "Dang, you're short."
The first time he did it, you couldn't tell if he was being annoying or if he was actually judging you, and you didn't talk much more throughout the rest of your conversation.
You suddenly got sucked into your toxic thoughts, thinking, Were you really that short? You weren't much shorter than most of the other girls in your year, but you knew height wasn't your strong suit. Next to Kuroo, one of the tallest guys in your year, you must have looked like a shrimp.
By the time he noticed that you had stopped talking, you were already so deep in your thoughts that he had to snap in front of your face for you to come back to reality.
"Hey, are you okay?" he asked, his brows furrowing.
Before you could stop yourself, you blurted out, "Am I really that short?"
It didn't take him two seconds to realize you were still thinking about his comment. "Oh, babe, I... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make it sound like your height was a bad thing." He takes your face in his hand and makes you look him in the eyes. "I love your height. It's perfect. You're perfect. Okay?"
You leaned into his palm and sighed, letting the warmth of his hand calm your thoughts. "Okay."
Tsukki
This rude, tall, blond, hot beanpole. He reminds you consistently of how short you are. He'll smirk as he looks down on you, calling you Short Stuff when he's teasing you and Shortcake when he's being sweet (which is once in a blue moon).
It's hard to pinpoint any single instance where he teased you because it feels like he's constantly doing it.
It's the casual "Hey, Short Stuff" as you pass each other walking into or out of a museum exhibit.
Or the "Do you ever get tired of being so short" when you're struggling to get the cereal on the top shelf in a grocery store.
And the "Sorry, can you speak a bit louder, I can't hear you from down there" when you're in an argument.
The only time you don't instantly hit him across the shoulder is moments like when you greet him after a successful Sendai Frogs game and you jump into a hug and he happily welcomes it. The moment he sets you down, you lean up to kiss him. He smirks when you break apart. "Thanks, Shortcake," he says, his affection seeping into the words.
Sometimes, he's sweet as sugar, and other times he may tease you to the brink of being mean, but it's every moment with him that makes you love him.

He is PREPARED. The minute this man realized that you were on your period, he got out the survival kit. The heat pack, the chocolate, your favourite kind of chips, and the fuzziest socks he could find. He brought it all over to your house and then just spent the whole day with you, cuddling while watching your favourite show and gently massaging your stomach and back. He's willing to do anything you asked.
He didn't really know what to do with you when you told him, but he's trying his best. He makes you soup, heats and reheats your heat pack when you ask him to, and makes sure to get you anything you need. He doesn't quite understand how best to help you, but he'll do all he can.
Mind blank, thoughts empty, this man hasn't the slightest clue what to do with you. He is kind of clueless, but at the very least he knows not to make fun of you and to be understanding when all you want to do is lie on the couch in pain and watch a show. Maybe don't rely on him to get you your comfort things though. He has no idea where they are.

He gives it to you in the car while you're driving to school. He does it when you get to school just as you're about to get out of the car.
"Wait, babe, hold on a sec." Suna holds you back for a moment, and you reluctantly sit back in your seat. "I have something for you."
You look at him suspiciously. "Okay...?"
He brings out a small box from his backpack that is so tidily wrapped in glittery paper that you are certain he got someone else to wrap it. "Happy birthday, y/n."
Your face breaks out into a smile. "Aww, thank you, babe!" You take the box from him and gladly tear into the paper. Inside is a velvet box. You open it to reveal a sparkly silver charm bracelet. You gasp. "You didn't! I've been looking at this one for months!"
"I know," he says. "That's why I got it, dummy."
You nudge him playfully before holding out your wrist. "Can you put it on?"
He rolls his eyes but nods and fixes the clasp around your wrist. You go to pull your wrist back, but he holds you tighter. Before you can ask what he's doing, he's lowering his lips to the inside of your wrist, giving a gentle kiss right where your pulse was beating. "Happy birthday," he says softly.
He holds your wrist there for a moment before letting go and getting out of the car like nothing happened.
You, on the other hand, stay in the car for another solid fifteen seconds before comprehending what just happened and jumping out to follow him.

You walk along the cherry blossom littered path hand in hand with Akaashi, tossing him expectant looks every three seconds. When he asked you to come with him to see the cherry blossoms, and asked you to wear something nice, you thought this could only end one way. You’ve been dating him for three years now, so any time he was doing something romantic, you were silently prepared to let the tears fall and cry out “YES!”
But as you walked, you kept looking at him and he kept walking like normal... And walking... And walking... And when you saw the end of the path in sight, you realized that he wasn’t going to propose at all.
Disappointment sinks in once more, prickling at your insides. Was it too much to ask for him to just do it already? He kept being so amazing and romantic, and you never complained about that, but the expectation for more was overwhelming.
“Love? What’s wrong?” Akaashi dips down to look you in the face. “Is everything alright?”
You shake your head, tears suddenly welling in your eyes. “Do you not want to marry me?” Your eyes go wide as you realize what you just said. Your face turns red as a tomato and you duck your head down, avoiding any eyecontact. “Pretend you didn’t hear that...” you whisper.
You feel his fingers on your chin, turning your face up to him. You want to fight it but allow him to shift your gaze back to him. His gaze is soft, his lips tilted in a small smile. “Of course I want to marry you, darling.”
A surge of courage filled you, and you steeled yourself, planting yourself in the ground as you say, “Then marry me. Marry me, Keiji.”
“Is this a proposal or a demand?”
“Both.”
Akaashi laughs. He softly takes your face in his hand and brings you in for a long, sweet kiss. “I would like nothing more.”

Atsumu: no one can tell me that the moment a girl doesn’t show immediate interest in him, he’s put off. Like, how dare someone not acknowledge his amazingness immediately. It’s even worse when she becomes good friends with Osamu and they’re forced to see each other way more often than they’d like. She doesn’t like him either, so when she agrees to manage the Inarizaki team and is forced to spend even MORE time with him, no one is happy. Of course, throw in some awkward meetings, some arguments turning into mutual scolding from Kita, some joint punishment in the form of cleaning all the uniforms by hand, and you’ve got yourself the start of a romance.
Oikawa: he would be so offended if a girl just... didn’t know who he was. He kind of forgot that he wasn’t the only guy at Aoba Johsai, but even then, he was practically famous! Tsukki: I would be shocked if this man’s eventual romance wasn’t a hate-to-love progression. Ain’t no way this walking salt shaker wouldn’t insult the girl who worked at the corner store (perhaps unknowingly) to the point where tears would prickle in the corners of her eyes. She’d flick away the tears, pack his bags (aggressively) and shove them in his direction with all the intention of throwing him out. The next time he went, he recognized her as the girl who cried and teased her as such, only to be shocked by how quick she was to rebutt and call him “Flat Stanley”. From that day, it was war. Insults being thrown back and forth, snarky comments being made about each others’ appearances, small smiles being exchanged when another customer entered the store, until eventually they both have to come to terms with the fact that he had stopped buying things weeks ago and now only came to see her.

Kageyama
His hugs are soft. He’s very tentative when he hugs, as though he isn’t quite sure he’s ever doing it right. You have to reassure him often that his hugs are fine.
Tsukki
Side hugs. Or hugs where you can’t quite tell if he actually wants to hug you or if he just feels obligated. (Hint: he actually wants to)

Nishinoya
If you’re taller than him, he’ll hug you around the waist, holding you tight against him. If you’re shorter than him, he likes to hug you around the neck. Like Tanaka, he’s very aggressive with his affection, and will hug you so tightly.
Ennoshita
He knows exactly what kind of hug pressure you like, and never oversteps. He is so warm and comforting, and just right for you.
Daichi
Warm, tight, loving hugs. His muscular arms always wrap around your waist as he presses a soft kiss into your temple. So sweet.
Suga
Depending on the day, his hugs can either be so, so soft, or AGGRESSIVE. When you’re sad, his hugs are the best. But when you’re excited, he squeezes you as tight as he possibly can.
Asahi
If papa-bear hugs were soft bois, that would be his hug. He hugs just tight enough to give you that satisfying squeeze, but not so tight that you start to asphyxiate.

Suga
This man, ugh. He is so sweet when you two cuddle. If you’re on the couch, he will 100% make you sit between his legs and wrap a giant blanket around the two of you, creating some kind of monstrous-looking beast silhouette. It’s warm inside, and he wraps his arms around you, resting his chin on your shoulder as you watch your favourite show.
If you’re cuddling on the bed, you best believe he’s the big spoon. He just loves to hold you and lightly caress your arms and your side with light strokes, whispering sweet nothings into your ear, and occasionally leaving a sweet kiss on your shoulder.
Iwaizumi
Let’s be honest, Iwa prides himself on his physique, and he just can’t help but squeeze you just a little too tight as he spoons you. He likes to sit with his back to the front of the couch and then have you sit between his legs, because he likes to feel you lean back against his chest. He always hopes wonders if you can feel his heart beating.
He feels you shifting, and goes to adjust himself before he realizes that your eyes are shut and your breathing has slowed. The amount of happiness he feels when he realizes that you feel safe enough around him to fall asleep is endless.
Osamu
Sometimes, this man cuddles you at the exact most inconvenient times for the dumbest of reasons. He realizes Atsumu is watching you two, suddenly his arms are around your waist and he’s holding you tightly. He sees some other man watching you as you study for your final, suddenly he’s right beside you pressing himself as close to you as possible.
Other times, he cuddles you exactly when you need him. He finds you crying about your childhood pet passing away, and his cuddles are full of love and comfortable warmth. He sees you staring at your computer bored out of your mind, and his cuddles are playful and cute, with little kisses peppering your face, his hands soft around your waist.
