i want to talk about this specific panel from the day i picked up dazai

i love when the bsd illustrators draw pm!dazai to look like an actual child.

he looks so tiny in here (could just be the angle, but the. again the angle is deliberate too). because he is a child. you can shove him in a suit, send him on whatever battlefield, he’s still just a 16 year old teenager.

i love this panel because the longer you look at it, the less intimidating dazai is. at first glance he is the intimidating demon prodigy, but when you stare a bit longer you realize that he is a child.

Now mine is a tricky one. Let’s say it’s an ability that makes people face their actions. For example the user of this ability (which in this case would be me) would be able to take their victims to a place where they had emotional memories (e.g. for Dazai it would be the Lupin Bar) to invite them for a cup of coffee and make them face their past mistakes. This place would essentially be the ability user’s own mind designed to make their victims feel comfortable/tensed or “in the memory”. I’d imagine the ability user to immediately know their regrets (even if they never met before) because of their ability and confront them. This confrontation could be used to drive the individuals to suicide or could be used for greater good and make them forgive themselves, though the usage heavily depends on the motives of the user. But I’d imagine whoever that is to be someone like Johan Liebert (iykyk) or Fyodor Dostoevsky, but Johan especially would be the best candidate.

since it’s a reference to the song hurricane, i think it could be similar to alcott’s ability. like, making time go slower only for the user BUT it would need to be at a critical moment. example: user is on the verge of being killed, ability activates and they can save themself. also, what is considered a critical moment would depend on the user; so if the user is chill with [insert whatever dramatic plot point could happen] the ability doesn’t activate, however if they’re dealing with a large scale issue they could spend an eternity in their ability to fix everything

You have no choice but to look at Kara and her pain and her survivors guilt and her self-harming behaviour and her depression and anger it's not a joke, it's not pretty, you feel it. There is no love interest there is no shipping to escape to, there's nothing to dilute or distract from her situation. The main motorcycle riding male character is a side character so you never forget who this movie is really about. The second main character is a 13yo girl. This is Kara's movie. She's 23 and "this year is gonna be the best, and that's not a very high bar." This tells the exact story that it's meant to tell and you will watch her as she screams into soundless space. Every victory is another failure and she keeps going. Kara spends almost the full movie some type of drunk or poisoned and still does what is right because she is good even though she's not perfect and she is kind even when she's not nice. She's stumbling through every day and still living somehow and at the end of the movie she decides she might actually try and Supergirl go brrrrr actually

Three random facts:

One of my ear canals are notably smaller than the other. It makes it harder to clean, and it kinds hurts sometimes, but otherwise it has no effect on my life and I didnt even realize until a few months ago.

I unironically thought undertale took place in hell. I didn't figure that out until at least four years of knowing the game existed, when a friend was speaking about the game and I mentioned that. As it turns out, "the underground" is in fact, just a place underground.

When I was 13 I used to go to the master bedroom and hide my parents' lube. I didn't steal it for myself or anything, I just threw them behind their dresser because I really hated the possibility of getting another sibling and that was the best way I could think of preventing that.

three random facts:

1) i once stole a weed-related product from right behind an empoyees back and i had to go in my tiptoes to reach over a transparent plastic divider to get it. i have never been caught and that might be my riskiest sticky-fingered stunt yet. i keep a mental catalogue of surveillance in stores, on streets, etc. oh and for some reason i tend to sneak up on people unnoticed even though I don't mean to and it seems crazy sometimes -- like I'll be in steel-toed boots and embodying a large sillhouette and regardless only be noticed when I'm within like 3 feet of someone. this is of course an incredibly funny nature to employ for sibling-scaring purposes and trickery.

2) i have known my partner since we were 6 years old, longer than I've known my own sibling. she has seen the absolute worst of me and the best. she has helped me survive innumerable times. and though we have our problems, i am so lucky and glad to have her in my life. she is the only person who can make me laugh with little effort. being in her company makes me feel at home no matter where we are or what we're doing.

3) i have managed to gain around 20lbs give or take within approximately 3 months (though i suspect i am losing some of the weight unfortunately due to stress and the other factors that make it difficult for me to eat properly... I'm hoping I'll correct course on that by mid-July and am looking to gain another 5-10 lbs from my starting weight along with the existing 20lbs i may have lost some of. also my new brand of protein powder is total garbage and i will never get it again, I'm going to go back to the one i liked before hopefully even if it's on the pricier side)

Not really surprising, but fun fact:

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to be a bird. This is not a bsd or Nikolai reference because I’ve had this thought since I was like, idk three? The feeling of roaming in the sky as the wind hit your face, I would love to experience it one day. Leaving all problems behind and simply flying, sounds so carefree and peaceful to me.

So please shove me into a suitcase and being me along if anyone goes paragliding. Or if you know black magic, please turn me into a bird for a few days.

I have an insane past that I'm still learning about to this day, I am pretty open about that because I think it helps others be more open and feel comfortable talking about things

I am very disabled, I use a wheelchair sometimes, a cane sometimes and a walker sometimes(all of these things im getting better at "letting myself" do(i struggle with the concept of just letting myself get hurt instead of using these))

I love space. Everything about it, seriously. If I could go into space and there's like... zero chance of survival, i would, just to see it, feel it, smell it

I love analyzing people and characters with comparing what they did in their lives, how they did it and who they interacted with and putting together a well thought out analysis of them. If I could do that for my career I would, just to study them

Oh and im very queer but no surprise there and I have almost no labels that I use confidently

And i have controversial takes on specific people and things that i, if asked, will never shut up about

I don’t have many followers but something that yall probably don’t know is that I had eye surgery when I was six years old.

Oh another thing is I am lowkey really scared of storms— it’s not that bad anymore but when I was little I would have really bad panic attacks and would unfortunately throw up anytime I would hear thunder. (It apparently stems from an event from when I was a baby where lightning struck a metal shed that was like ten couple feet away and it was really loud)

I have many illnesses that include:

I also have a very serious fear of needles and I had to get two types of shots for my rheumatism so now even seeing needles in the most styled cutesy art style makes me nauseous

I still keep my cups and medals in huge glass shelves, I have like 50 cups and 100 medals still whenever I look at that I feel nothing at all. Sometimes I feel like I died when I am looking at these. You know I think I'm a bit of an outlier in that I prefer whumpees who had a normal (doesn't necessarily need to be *good,* just... Normal) life before the whump. At least in my little corner of living weapons and other extreme long term whump

So! For those of you who share my preference, or maybe don't but still have an oc who fits it, tell me. What was your whumpees life like before the whump, before their captivity or whatever you're putting them through? What fond memories do they look back on, what gives them the strength to push through, do they have any hope of seeing that life again? Anyway family members or friends looking for them? Use this as an excuse to yap, I wanna know!

(and if I may add, seeing the family and friends of a missing whumpee is one of my favourite things ever, so feel free promote too 👀 Promote anyway, but especially I wanna read that!)

i wanna talk about my oc

soooo my oc Reidunn had overall a normal childhood. they were adopted when they were five, lived with their single dad and never really had much issues

and then The Plot™️ happens. they fall in love with a girl who wants to kill their dad. + they learn that their dad is not the good guy she imagined (among many things, they learn that he basically kidnapped her and not adopted her)

so yeah, lots of confusing memories to think about 👍
