Detailed poll because I am very curious
Which Stargate property did you see first, and which show is your favorite?
Saw Stargate (1994) first, favorite is SG1
Saw Stargate (1994) first, favorite is Atlantis
Saw Stargate (1994) first, favorite is Universe
Saw SG1 first, favorite is SG1
Saw SG1 first, favorite is Atlantis
Saw SG1 first, favorite is Universe
Saw Atlantis first, favorite is SG1
Saw Atlantis first, favorite is Atlantis
Saw Atlantis first, favorite is Universe
Saw Universe first, favorite is SG1
Saw Universe first, favorite is Atlantis
Saw Universe first, favorite is Universe
I know Infinity and Origins exist, but I didn't have enough poll options to fit them :( I'm counting on the assumption that those would be the least voted for either category, but please sound off if either is your jam!
The stargate fandom at amazon right now

translation: it was actually going to be good
Hello fanfiction community,
Just wanted to bring to your attention that the term whump was actually coined by the Stargate fandom specifically to describe making this guy suffer. He is the original Mr. Whump (no that's not his actual name). That's how torturable this guy is.
Everyone say mean things about him.
Here is a non exhaustive list of what he goes through in canon btw:
His parents get crushed to death right in front of him when he is a kid
He is forced to relive the memory of his parents death countless times
He dies and gets resurrected
His wife gets possessed
He fails to save her and she dies in his arms
He dies and gets resurrected again
He gets infected by a virus that makes him act crazy and gets put in an insane asylum
He dies and gets resurrected again
His ex gets possessed
He is exposed to a lethal dose of radiation
He dies and ascends to a higher plane, then gets kicked out of the higher plane and his memory is wiped
He gets kidnapped by a princess
He gets kidnapped by a fish alien
He gets kidnapped and tortured by some terrorists
He gets kidnapped and tortured by another alien
He is driven to insanity by an alien device
He dies and gets resurrected again
He dies and gets resurrected again

STARGATE SG-1 || “The Road Not Taken” 10.13
I love Stargate dearly, but every so often I need to reprocess the fact that the main series villains are:
Cunty little worms
Sentient grey Lego bricks
The Spanish Inquisition
Stargate Atlantis shawl
Eighteen years ago (EIGHTEEN!!!! Yikes! How can this have been so long ago???) I made a graph for a Stargate Atlantis cardigan with the pegasus logo. Alas, the cardigan is no more, but I have wanted to reuse my graph for a while now and finally decided to make a shawl this time.
Knitting instructions (not test-knitted) and my EIGHTEEN (I have not yet recovered ;-) ) year old graph following under the cut
#op how does it feel to be the coolest person on the planet #in the galaxy (x)
I think it's policy at the SGC that the first time you die, you get a memorial right away, but if you come back and die again they've gotta wait like, a month before they do anything, just to be sure. If you die, come back again, and then die a THIRD time, they wait a year.
They aren't allowed to hold memorial services for Daniel anymore.
I love sci-fi
Coming to Stargate from Star Trek, it's like, 'FUCK your prime directive.' It's so funny.
Like Trek has all these episodes where the prime directive causes the plot. At it's silliest, it's an excuse for our heroes to have to dress up as gangers. At it's grandest, it's the hinge point of an excrutiating moral dilemna. And Stargate just says 'fuck that noise.' There are so many episodes where the team's arrival is actively harmful to the planets' natives. And sometimes our guys go 'whoopsie doopsie' before moving on, but sometimes they don't. It's hilarous and perfect and such an (unintentional?) indictment of the US Military. I love it so much.
It's the opening scene of the new Stargate series. Jack is fast asleep in bed, next to Sam. The phone rings. Jack wakes up, answers the phone. The person on the other line says "I hope you enjoyed your retirement, because it's over now." Jack stares off into space as the person keeps prattling on. Sam wakes up, asks Jack what's wrong. Jack says, "I don't know, but it better be important."
Jump cut to the SGC. Everyone is gathered in a meeting. Daniel is there, in his urn, but they're sure he'll be back in time for the mission. Teal'c pauses dramatically and states, "Somehow, the false god, Apophis has returned."
Fade to black. It's the worst episode of television ever aired. The new series is cancelled. Everyone boos.
Daniel in his urn 😂😂
