First Post! I figured I'd commemorate it with a fan art and a request combined - any work I post is mine so if you like it, thank you! If you want to use it for any reason please ask first, and if you notice anything that I should know when posting feel free to (respectfully please!) let me know!!

Honestly I am more proud of my painting the sand to cover up the original guy than for the new character themselve but, eh, it happens!
But anyways! If anyone knows the original poster I can credit let me know!
New Hyperfixation Incoming!~*~*~☆
My friends got me hooked on Gachiakuta, so that is what I have been drawing lately (I have some more critical role streetwear stuff half finished so that will pop up sooner or later)
I would love to see someone with more skill than me do the ooiiaa cat thing for shikage, 'cause honestly that would be so cute! (If someone has done it let me know so I can see!!) And of course no hyperfixation is complete without self-insert~ honestly I really like how gachiakuta self inserts sort of make you think 'what would I have treasured so deeply it gave the object spirit?'
For me it's probably my necklace I have worn since middle/high school which has also functioned as a sort of worry-stone to the point it has a groove worn into the back
Next up, since one of the outfits comes in a set with Pike- her best buddy Grog!
The belt is a sort of obi-style design with a hidden pocket with ale shaped zipper pull! And of course the back of his jersey has his favorite color!
I had fun with Cad so now say hi to Pike-wear! Maybe cause she is such a protector that I leaned more towards outerwear for her...
But anyways! I'll probably end up doing more of these so if there is anyone you'd like to recommend just let me know :)
With some of the new critical role clothing merch coming out recently, especially for the Mighty Nein, I really with there was more quality Caduceus stuff out there... I mean his beetle armor is cool, and full of potential for iridecence and details from the lichen and my personal favorite: the ***sleeve*** that is like a feywild material or something (?) that is supposed to sort of be like a dragonfly wing, I think (unless that is all in my head), but his merch just always seems to have less effort put into conceptualization?
So here is my attempt at some caduceus inspired clothing that I wish I had skills or resources to make:
I am especially fond of the middle finger sleeve thing that says 'respectfully' so when you give the finger to someone you can do it, you know, **respectfully**
I know I posted this in the Halaire discord but I can’t draw and I am hoping this will reach the people who get it and also can draw lmao

So the Georgian Pairs team’s short program is skating to Bolero and I do think Anastasiia Metelkian’s costume for this routine would be such a good Bolaire look
Am i the best person for this task? Probably not. But pretty outfits plus good characters mean I had to do it... anyways I hope this lives up to expectations? Considering Bolaire needs to stay covered up I tweaked the outfit a bit, but otherwise I tried my best~
(Also I feel the fact that they skated to bolero, or *Bolaire-o*, made me giggle)
So, background info: I thought id try to get a little somethin' somethin' out again for Ilara seeing as on the 31st it's been a full year since the freaky thursday oneshot, right? Well I was pulling screenshots and using them as the bases for posing right? And I do the whole: 'artist ends up mimicking the pose they're drawing' thing, right so...

But like, now my shoulders feel kinda tense in a not really kind of way? and I keep rolling my shoulders as if I need to loosen them up...
But it made me also think about acting and roleplaying right? Like, Matt chose those positions when portraying Ilara. The closed in arms, elbows connected to waist, flittery hands all portray a smaller or more slight build (she is 5 feet even, although I cant remember if i put that in the description for them) with personality leaning towards something coquettish, flirty, and sweet, and definitely more traditionally perceived feminine, which aligns well with Ilara (and again, he portrayed Ilara SUPER WELL, especially since the prompt was limited and the most info I could give on personality was 'flirtatious without follow-through')
BUT
When translating that into actually drawing that character and personality? I had to change the skeletal base, loosen those shoulders a bit and lower the forearms to below the bust which brings me to perhaps the main point and moral of my story...
Boobs, man.
I myself have them, and Ilara reflects that also, but Matt, obviously, does not. And so looking at positioning of where his hands were in relation to respective body parts is just as important as the pose itself when using bases that don't necessarily reflect the body type of the final subject.
This is something I just realized and want to share with whoever cares, so that my weirdly sore shoulders serve a larger purpose for fellow developing artists.

Been a while... a lot has happened but I think that's the same for everyone, yeah? Critical Role's Wierd Kids podcast with Taliesin Jaffe and Ashley Johnson asked viewers what their favorite impulse buy was and I figured now was a good a time as any to finish up and post what I've been fiddling with on and off for a year... since my favorite impulse purchase ever was splurging my teacher's salary on the 5000 dollar donation to have your character be a judge in the Freaky Thursday Live Charity Oneshot.
Yes, that's right, I, a ghost on the internet am Ilara!! Hahahahahahaha! Honestly, it was great to see Matthew Mercer's portrayal of Ilara, and I could go on and on about how happy it made me to see my character interact even a little with the Critical Role cast, but also to know that my money wasn't being used just for me but also to help people who really needed it.
Anyways! I have been working on recreating the scenes with Ilara, but it's been rough since I'm basically drawing on my phone now and my art style has been shifting a lot as I've been drawing more. Most of the facial expressions were from the scene itself and the rest was my *imagination*. I dont know if I'll do the other two scenes yet but heeeeeere's Ilara!

So here's a thought:
Ashton is sort of established to have anxiety, yeah? Like, they had a panic attack before when they were on their way to getting a new outfit, so they are at least sorta anxious or something, maybe.
Now I have been having a bit of a time with my anxiety and trying to explain it to someone sort of made it worse this time and was really hard to explain in a way that didn't sound really vague and feel kind of useless, and then here comes the thought -- it reminded me of Ashton's explanation for his actions and how some internet voices regarded those and their apologies (no disagreement or argument, just an observation). In addition sometimes anxiety comes out as anger, yeah? because of the fight or flight thing, and if barbarians in general need some sort of primal or emotional impetus for their strength and rages, and nothing is more primal brain-wise than the amygdala (i think) where that fight or flight comes from, then could that mean that at least partially, Ashton is a barbarian because of that anxiety and how it manifests? If so then that would mean he's like almost always terrified? If that's true, then that makes me so sad... I sorta hope I'm proven wrong...
Anyway as compensation for the rant here is a piece that I've been working on since the episode before last Thursday's (I can't remember the number right now) It's not super complete but I think it's as good as it's gonna get for now.
I promise I draw more than just Ashton or Taliesin Jaffe characters, it's just what I ever really complete (relatively) fully recently.
Ashton deserves their superhero pose moment and Fearne is just fabulous in general - this scene just was so visually wonderful it had to be drawn!
