Hi! I'll probably re-do this later (again!!!), when I'm not sleep deprived (never), but here it goes. I go by Lana and I use she/her. I'm in high school and love reading, writing, music (specifically pop-punk, folk, rock, and alt-z), sketching, and sleeping.

2+2=5. "When a lie has been told enough times, it becomes real." Two and two is five. Every morning I tell myself I like who I am. How many times do you repeat the lie?

I don't hate myself. I love myself too. I'm surrounded by myself, hounded by my own cries, caged inside my own ribs. I love myself. My body is my temple but some days it feels like the ruins of Petra. I love myself. I just don't like myself all the time.

On rainy days full of blues, I'm tired of this body, of this mind. 2+2=5. If you could sell all your bad memories, only on the condition you'd have to give away the good ones too, would you still do it? Are you your memories or are you the vessel that houses them? Are you the product of your thoughts or the manufacturer? When you repeat a lie enough times, it becomes part of the truth, expands and births itself anew.

Two plus two is five. Am I the voice in my head or the notes of my heart? Am I the lies I tell myself? Lies of consolation, lies ot condolences. If I love myself, why do I keep seeing my corpse at the bottom of the ocean, on a road, slumped on my chair, buried in the dirt? If I like myself, why do I keep hearing four, four, four? Two plus two is four. Where do lies end and god's honest truth begin? Because lord I'm tired of not knowing.

And, for what it’s worth, Chidi’s assignment to the bad place is also entirely bogus. The guy has some obvious neurodivergence that genuinely makes his own life difficult for him. He needs therapy, and probably meds, not to be sent to hell.There is no malice in Chidi that would merit that sort of punishment, but because of the way the system is set up with its black/white ethics, there he is.

And while Jason’s morals are…..bad…..he also acts without malice and genuinely spends his time trying to help people. He’s just….not very clever about it, unfortunately. 

Basically the whole kantian system classifies disability and trauma as moral failings and it’s just mega fucked up.

Don’t leave this in the tags!! They’re good points! An attempt is better than nothing!

It’s one thing to listen to a correct pronunciation. It’s another to actually have your mouth form the words, especially when you’re using a sound you don’t normally use in your native language.

Maybe they’re not saying “I didn’t look up the actual pronunciation and I’m just winging it.” Maybe it’s “I looked it up and it uses a sound that I don’t use in my day to day speech and I don’t think I did it quite right but I tried.”

And sometimes, there aren’t sufficient resources to teach you the correct pronunciation! Sometimes you’ll get bot-made videos that contradict each other.

This this this this. As someone who struggles to pronounce a couple of words I use fairly often my FIRST LANGUAGE, thanks to those particular sounds just being difficult shapes for me to string together coherently, I am constantly afraid of fucking up words in other languages or even just with roots in other languages.

It’s one thing to not even try, but the “I hope I’m doing this correctly” isn’t always “I’m hoping I can just wing this word with whatever I think it’s supposed to sound like,” a lot of times it “okay so I’ve looked it up and tried it a few times so I’m really hoping its coming out right, but I’m not used enough to the language to really be sure .”

Languages are fucking DIFFICULT for a lot of people. Not just the repeating/speaking part, but also the ability to HEAR and RECOGNIZE the patterns and sounds.
