the thing that annoys me the most about the supergirl hate is that when superman came out last year my (instagram) feed was flooded with hopecore and people hyping it up, "kindness is punkrock" and everyone was seemingly so inspired to do good, they all loved that superman defeated a rich person and stood up for the oppressed. there was still hate for the movie but the positivity drowned it out

now that its supergirl, all i've seen is hate with very little defense which is insane because how could people not like sex traffickers being beat up? why would we not want women to do good things? there just isnt enough hype for this movie, and i genuinely think that the people who have seen it and still hate it, unless they have a VERY good reason, are simply sexist, because most of them don't have a reason outside of "Shes annoying"

ive seen some people talk about how they think ruthye is useless or in the way or doesnt do anything in the new movie. so hi, i'd just like you let you know you're wrong. i think we see so so so many kids in media who just. are. fighters. they have to fight. aang, percy jackson, harry potter, etc. theyre all fighting from a very young age. but like. let kids be kids. they shouldnt have to know what theyre doing. ruthye hasnt got a clue what exactly shes trying to achieve besides wanting to get back at the guy who took everything from her. and kara gets it. shes lost everything, her family, her home, her whole planet, and her people as a whole. and she sees this little girl who might just lose all her wonder and innocence in the weight of the world that she had barely even understood yet. so yeah, ruthye doesnt listen, she wants to fight, she doesnt really know how, she just needs someone to help her. let her be useless, let her not understand, shes literally a child. i guarantee you, she would be the type of kid to be like "actually im 13 a five sixths, so im basically 14!!!!!!"

Fandom culture is so bleak rn like what is the obsession with canon

It’s 2025. BBC Sherlock ended 8 years ago. The last season was so bad the fans didn’t even want to talk about it when it came out. Occasionally a post resurfaces where we all laugh at struggling to plug our phones in and being called alcoholics. Every time, there are more and more people in the comments who don’t get the joke. There are two currently airing Sherlock Holmes audio dramas that both portray a queer Holmes (as well as several other excellent queer characters), and one of them now has Holmes and Watson in a canonical romantic relationship. There’s an adorable crowdfunded short film where Watson plans Holmes’ birthday party and they flirt with each other, share a bed, plan their retirement, and kiss on the mouth. A video game about retired beekeeper Holmes just released where he arranges a romantic picnic so he can finally tell Watson how he feels. A popular graphic novelist just released the first part of a queer comic book retelling of the complete Holmes canon and had to do several rounds of preorders because she kept selling out too fast. Sherlock is garbage and here’s why has 15 million views on YouTube. Nature is healing. ❤️🐝

something that annoys me is when people ship Sherlock Holmes with Irene Adler in BBC Sherlock. like, that guy is so fucking gay. he had ZERO interest in her. i also genuinely saw someone say online “oh well Irene can actually keep up with him” in response to not shipping him with John, implying John is “too dumb” or “slow” to keep up with Sherlock. okay, if that’s your logic, ship him with Moriarty, who is smart enough to keep up with him and even outsmart him.

also, John isn’t even dumb either??? he can just be portrayed that way next to fucking 190 IQ Sherlock Holmes. people are literally pulling reasons out of their ass to ship Sherlock with a woman. that man is gay, moving on.
