DO NOT DOUBT UNTIL YOU’VE TRIED THIS Immediately, utterly, and irresolutely discontinue the act of asking yourself, ‘Why?’ The moment you do, the whole of creation becomes INFINITELY easier to enjoy. (Do not ask me why this works. It just does. Send this message to three thousand million friends or your grandma will get run over by Father Time.)
Study.
A fucking lot of it.
(via brainslurry)
I wrote this on my other blog.
It's short.
I hope it improves your life like it has mine :D
Loneliness
The thing that makes you lonely is the act of thinking.
Thinking of loneliness.
Thinking of being alone.
But most of all—
Thinking alone.
To think together is to ACT.
It is to participate in the shared matrix we call reality.
It is literally how your mind works. You think, or WILL yourself to do something.
“I will,” statements must dominate for life to proceed.
Also—
It is how the hive mind works: devote your life to the cause, to the end goal, and all the steps work themselves out into something harmonious.
Like organs trying to move your arm. From within a womb, perhaps. Or learning to walk.
Or… Fly?
Imagine how the first birds must have felt, realizing they had had these miraculous ‘wing’ things on their arms for generations, and not knowing anything about it until ‘Kuku, that bewildering nut-brain. Always dancing over there by that cliff…’
I’m not saying humans can fly. That would be crazy… Right?
What I AM saying, is I believe we can shed ourselves of this preoccupation with division if we all find a common ground to stand on. And I say, what better ground that that of a shared goal:
Reaching utopia?
I know I’m getting ahead of myself here, but what if our levels of introspection are truly the only things keeping us from truly connecting with others? Are we actually supposed to believe you are born, live, and die alone? That you’re never really sharing the same experience of existence with another being?
I know, personally, that my video game sessions with my best friend, Jacob, began when I finally stopped rooting around in my own inventory, so we could move on and enjoy the game a little more. I was holding up the action, and by not participating, by forcing myself to stop and make judgment calls instead of deciding things on impulse, shared, goal-oriented impulse, I was slower and less productive in the interaction.
We still retain our personalities, but the enjoyment of the game and the pacing just sort of… flow better. And I’m saying, we should be able to do that, all of us, on such an enormous scale, without money or governments or a regular schedule interfering in any of it.
The only way to effectively cloud anything is to come to premature conclusions. It’s how we cloud our minds, our judgment calls, our vision… Literally, the distance we can see, and understand becomes limited by how far we are willing to experience it.
So by dwelling on loneliness, we truly isolate ourselves, in a rhythm of contemplation that imprisons us in our minds.
And remember, to think is also to ACT. Thinking is an action, and acting is how the whole engine of social experience is run. So as long as we trap ourselves in our thoughts, that is literally how long we spend in our minds.
Our notions about happiness entrap us. We forget that they are just ideas. Our idea of happiness can prevent us from actually being happy. We fail to see the opportunity for joy that is right in front of us when we are caught in a belief that happiness should take a particular form.

Foundations
If you seek land, then claim it Stamp your posts with fence between Scratch your line where can be seen Ask the grass where is most green The lands you seek do claim If you seek things, possess them Build your walls in which to store But first build thoughts like "my" and "your" Ask for things and nothing more The things you seek possess But if you seek another thought, Which can be neither sold not bought If you seek freedom, freedom sought Is freedom found, etc. Do not make wall nor separate Objectify, delineate Or other things which pry apart And claim them but within the heart For they are yours and of each other Possessed and claimed of one another As only brother loving brother Family truly bound become Possess the light of any star Of roof be unexpecting Possessing breeze and vistas far As walls lie unerecting Then firmly ground beneath your feet And passions standing bittersweet Dare not to stand upon a floor This I say, and nothing more.
This is the problem.
Nothing about education should cause anything even remotely resembling this. See, this is why psychological phenomena like the overjustification effect are so paradoxically true. No task will ever be done unless we want for ourselves to to do it. Likewise, no concept, explained or otherwise, will ever make sense to us unless we want for ourselves to know it. Unless we want to believe it. Unless we want to integrate it into our own personal internal representation of the universe. A.D.H.D. A.D.D. Asperger Syndrome. All of these things are just psychological labels for a various collection of symptoms. But these symptoms can vary and blend together and are not separate and distinct "diseases", though many of us might like to believe it. They are simply multiple expressions of a reaction to a much larger underlying issue:
We don't want to learn and communicate the way institutionalized educative processes REQUIRE us to. ... in order to assuredly survive. Because, for whatever reason, people still have to pay for food. Oh, we have enough to feed the world, absolutely. But because of places like McDonald's and the morbidly obese population of the United States of America, we consume FAR MORE than is necessary. Ah, but even if perhaps we did NOT consume so much, still trade tariffs and the financial cost of sharing with the world would make it so that food, among other things we consider ESSENTIAL for human survival, would be somehow tied up in such an unevenly disbursed commodity. For that is all money is, really: a commodity used to trade for another commodity. It's still a barter system, just one in which we've completely forgotten that the thing we exchange still has to be produced, and still has to be assigned arbitrary value, and limited in the evenness of its disbursal. It's like we're growing wheat, except that wheat is now the only thing we can ever trade for anything else. And that the food, water, shelter, and power we require as a BARE MINIMUM for a peaceful survival should be somehow limited by something as poorly conceived and trivialized as that... it's mind-bottling. (You know, things are so crazy it gets your thoughts get all trapped, like in a bottle?) I believe that there is an easier way to learn than institutionalized education. I believe there's something to be said for being allowed to live so you can follow your passions. For passions are the things that keep us going; in love, and in life. And they are one of the most sustaining things we can allow ourselves to truly experience.
"Time flies when you're having fun," right? What if time flew so fast it just disappeared altogether?
So basically Lemony Snicket predicted tumblr.

How else do you think it could work?
