So why is this exact same script "ok" when you replace being gay or trans with being ace? Well that's easy. People on tumblr, mainly exclus, love to one-up others. It's almost a competition sometimes just to be honest and open about struggles you face. Asexuals talk about our issues, and some exclus comes along and wants to one-up ue and act like we're denying other struggles. But here's the thing. We're not. By being honest about our issues, we aren't saying gay or trans people have no issues. But exclus can't help but think that because they may face worse struggles, or because their struggles are more common, our struggles aren't real.
Exclus: stop with this one-upping bs. Imagine if every time you spoke about troubles you have faced, somebody just had to interrupt and tell you theirs and why their is so much worse,and then tried to push you out of a room you were already in. If someone did that to you, you'd be beyond mad. This is what you do to asexuals. It's not just harmful by not allowing asexuals a supportive community, but it's also annoying as hell to be shot down and one-upped every time we speak about our issues.
Exclus also feel free to talk in replies or rb's about your thoughts on this because while I am absolutely pissed and ready to fight I am willing to listen to other perspectives.
