ARE YOU KIDDING ME THIS RULES
genuine question, not snark: when did political groups’ understanding of the concept of a “general strike” shift from “concurrent labor actions intended to bring a big chunk of the economy to a halt until demands are met” to “short term or even singe day protest”? I thought the whole point of a “strike” is that it lasts until your demands are met or you can’t keep going anymore, which makes it a substantially different and often more effective (though often more difficult) form of politician action than like a daylong protest or rally. But people don’t seem to use the word consistently that way nowadays.
We know, but are you gonna pay my rent while we strike? Are you going to get my medicine, and feed me while I strike?
Under the boot of corporate oppression there are logistical difficulties that make a proper strike functionally impossible. Unless we riot and steal, it's not likely the average member of the proletariat can afford the strike, let alone survive the simple fact the government and mega corps can literally afford to starve us out
Every general strike in history has faced this problem.
Unions have strike funds that help cover the time without income, but in general strikes many people won't have access to a strike fund, so what they need instead is solidarity.
They need people to show up for each other. Sharing resources, sharing skills, mass-resisting evictions. Every general strike has relied on people bringing each other medication, cooking for each other, baby sitting for each other and showing up for each other out the landlord.
A strike isn't a protest, it's a battle about who can hold out the longest. How long can the lonely people at the top hold on when we stop serving them - and how long can we hold out by taking care of each other?
I've made it my mission to be known by everyone on Tumblr. And I mean EVERYONE. No account will go without this post, I want to make it to the dead poets society fandom all the way to the ninjago fandom. Everyone will reblog this, and if they don't I will die a failure.
welp this found me
Oh thank god, I was worried it wouldn't get to you
HOW did this find me
I mean it makes sense this found me
being genderfluid/genderqueer is so confusing
like i want to take t but i dont want to fully transition into a man, i want more masculine features and to be recognised as a man/nonbianary/not a woman lmao, but i want to still be extremly fem, while at other times im so comfortable in my current body and percived gender
does anyone else feel the struggle or is it just me

if there is one thing i can say that isn't just pure vitriol it's this: stop thinking in terms of "white" countries and "poc" countries and start analyzing the actual relations between them, it will get you farther in your understanding of the world

we worship Alex Fierro here, the ultimate genderfluid Queen
anyone else get the stupid "am I really trans?" imposter syndrome when your gender shifts to something vaguely resembling what you were assigned at birth
