Warriors oc, but its a dog who sort of understands cats and doesn't hate them.
Decided she'll be based off of a dog I used to have, considering she already has a cool backstory. Her name is Mini.
When she was a pup, she chased cats. She tried chasing one across a thunderpath but ended up being ran over by a monster. She ended up having a limp, unable to fully walk on one of her paws. She otherwise survived.
Years later we had gotten a kittypet named Max, a bombay to be exact. Slowly she began to understand cats more and even learned their language with help from Max.
Their bond grew, but Max unfortunately had passed away. And a few years later, Mini herself would be kidnapped by a neighbor.
Now here comes the completely fictional part: She managed to escape her captors, going into the forest and finding thunderclan. She tried to talk to them, speaking in broken speech due to how long its been, but due to fear, the clan chased after her instead.
She escaped them with a few scratches, but kept on trying to gain their trust. She watched from a distance, seeing their hunting patterns, and noticed that one of them had a limp to.
She was surprised to see that this cat was picking flowers instead of hunting. The next time she saw her, she gathered some flowers of her own and slowly went towards the cat.
Cinderpelt froze, and seeing Mini, unsheathed her claws with a warning yowl. Mini slowly dipped her head to put the flowers down before backing away, realizing that perhaps it was best to leave Cinderpelt alone.
She turned and walked away, her tail lowered in defeat.
The next night, she was found by Cinderpelt close to a stream. Cinderpelt had a vole for her and carefully laid it close by, still cautious but curious all the same. She was surprised when Mini weakly spoke in broken sentences, seeming to be trying to thank her for the food.
They talked, both keeping their distance, but soon learning about each other and slowly becoming friends and gaining trusts. Cinderpelt warned that the forest was not a good place for a small dog, surprised that Mini managed to stay hidden and safe for so long.
Mini expressed that she was lost, and so Cinderpelt decided to help her in leaving the forest. They were both concerned that Mini would starve. Even without the lame leg, she had no ability to be as flexible as a cat, nor could she hunt like bigger dogs. Cinderpelt gave the idea that maybe she could try to fish, and decided to teach her all the same.
This is not refined at all btw, just came to me and I figured I might as well type it out before I forget, lol. Anyway, here's my idea. I actually thought about mentioning Brightheart specifically being hateful of her, but realized that the whole clan was likely to be on edge anyway. And considering she went through what Cinderpelt did, they would probably be the best pairing.
Imagine Cinderpelt having a dog friend and Brightheart calling her a traitor or smth.
Also, Mini really did try to chase a cat across the road, lol, and the leg injury was the result of that. She was still such a positive and friendly dog, and I don't think any dog could be as amazing as she was.
She had a small chain collar the majority of her life. She was trained to stay in the yard (after the cat incident) so we didn't need to worry about her getting choked by a leash with that collar. She got a pink collar in her older years before giving up collars all together. Max was also a real pet, which she outlasted despite her being a lot older.
One more thing; she was a chihuahua-min pin-pug mix.
