*My favorite sanses ship child since 2022 and that went through SOME SHIT with m au lore evolution ಥ‿ಥ I birthed three ocs out of him he's literally part of me atp y'all don't understand how much this #sadbih sans ship child I'm genuinely so attacks to him/them ( . ര ʖ̯ ര . ) ANYWHO LET'S SKIP THE TANGENT-
*Crescent!sans,he/them/they, offspring of Nightmare!sans and killer!sans, but he's not made from love and devotion or any of the sappy romantic stuff, "well then how was he conceived?? out of thin air???" Well.. "nightkiller" doesn't exist here, that'd just be the most toxic relationship (not shade if you like the ship I used to too before I really grasped what the nightkiller dynamic actually is), how he was created tho? I bet we all know how PJ is created (for those who don't he was basically created by accident when ink's ink , error's glitch and strings and a page of ink's sketches pages combined) for crescent's case, it was in one of those times when nightmare "fixes" killer's soul, something unusual happened that they did not notice in the beginning, nightmare's negativity goop had mixed with the smallest shard of killer's unstable soul's core, which made life, a small dark orb in the unnoticed corner of nightmares palace. Nightmare felt a new thing, surprisingly couldn't track it. It later took form after killer left nightmare's grasp for good, it tried to resemble the nightmare's shape, and revealed itself to them, it shapeshifted into them and pointed out to them, then to itself, I'm of you. The nightmare was puzzled yet intregued, he'd lie if he said it wasn't amusing, it moved it's mouth just like he saw them do, "mi lOrd.." it can already speak? Fascinating.
from the crescent on its forehead it was named. And the "it" grew fast, great, just what the nightmare needs. A new puppet that'll evolve fast, no useless morals built in, one of his kind; a perfection. A god.
Crescent did indeed come in handy, they learned fast, they grew fast. They had no empathy, all they knew was nightmare, and the memory of killer who was similar to his case, but, incomplete as nightmare put it, not like crescent, they are perfect, oblivious, untouched by unnecessary outside humane morals. But they were ever so curious, their only flaw. They now see tears, laughs, giggles, games, something else he can't describe, but their body doesn't welcome it, something bright, everyone seems to have it, something the nightmare didn't approve of. It's wrong but.. it's different, exciting, and they get closer and closer to it, the source of it, someone so similar to the nightmare, but yet so different..? They invite crescent in, they serve them a delicious looking summer desert, they speak of tales and aspirations quite bright, but, the crescent doesn't stomach those, doesn't even touch the desert, It was apparent to be a bitter one. They go back to the nightmare, he serves him a delectable supper, it's too salty.
He's used to that flavor.
*I came up with this reboot for him and the dreamtale brothers when I was listening to GOD by Jake Daniels and boy did it inspire me! I literally run a whole movie in my head of crescent's crap with his uncle and father- first mental draft was crescent not really using his god side and just his intelligence, but I was like "his father's an ANCIENT GOD" and ultimately went for uses god powers+intelligence.
As it's mentioned in the art above crescent is the only one that can successfully reverse psychology on nightmare and dream. He's also pretty morally gray, he knows what feelings are but doesn't truly or authentically feel them he just copied others until he got the hang of it. Him and nightmare are pretty civil, nightmare knows what crescent is capable of and respects him kinda, they are just an interesting subject for him really, and crescent as much as he doesn't exactly hate it but is okay with nightmare so long as he's not being obv about only seeing crescent as a mere weapon, which is what dream want to do. Crescent and nightmare have sort of a friendship or alliance whatever you wish to call it but it's not a deep emotional bond none of them can actually feel that stuff-
*Ironically crescent ends up in a very lovey-dovey relationship with Astrology twehehehee
Crescent's relationship with the outside is very... complicated? He basically had no "friends" in the beginning since nobody wanted to be around the nightmare's son understandably, he did not mind it, until it became obvious hate and misconsumptions about him being a mere puppet or a lobotomized weapon like what killer was which he finds insulting to both him and killer. He hates being seen as less than what he is understandably so!

Although he knows and acknowledges being a god he always corrects astrology whenever he calls him so, saying "we are deities of sorts but we are not literal gods" and when he calls him a guardian or a star "babe I'm the offspring of a god I AM a god" but astro does not mind whatsoever he's just happy to have his breathtaking god by his side <3
Astrology and crescent started off as enemies, astrology hating how blunt and unapologetic crescent was forgetting he himself is quite literally the same lol
Bc of crescent's intense internalized god complex they sometimes go on these tangents to astrology trying to make him worship them. Those are not common though since astrology is very critical and logical (agnostic) so he doesn't really feed into the worshipping thing, but if he was ever to worship any god ya best believe it's gonna be his beau thang ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
