“I’m drunk.”
“WITHOUT ME YOU OLD GEEZER?? HAVE WE DRIFTED SO MUCH APART?”
hojc
“D-Diar–” Ahem. “Oh my, this illness seems like its never ending…I was, heh heh, hoping she would be feeling better. I’ve got these two tickets to this pop up fair on the waterfront, but considering her condition, it wouldn’t be best for Kagome to go.”
Pause.
“Say–Jii-chan, what are you doing today?” It would be nice to take a wise old man to the fair.
A low hum, and a nod. “Yes-yes, that is one sickly child my dearest Kagome.” He breaks character quickly with a carefree laugh though, his goatie twitches with excitement.
“Hooo?! A pop up, fair you say? Doesn’t that sound delightful! Mmm... I remember visiting these when I was younger. I wonder, do they still have those fish on the stick? It has been too long.... I could even put my good cane to use!”
hojc
“Oh J-Jii-chan,” Hojo replied concerned. “It did, did it? You’re very lucky! I was just about to bring more for Kagome if she needed it.”
“I’ve got 5 bottles full so you’ll be stocked up for a while. You really gotta take care of yourself. I’ve got an herbal tea remedy that should help with it too–”
“It worked wonders, wonders Hojo-kun! Sadly Kagome’s rashes turned out to be of bacterial origin and now she suffers from a bad case of diarrhea. Sadly, there is no way for you to see her in this condition, you must understand.” a hum “But enough about me, how was your exam yesterday?”
“ HOJO-KUN! You have been dearly missed. The ointment you last brought for Kagome’s rash happened to heal my arthritis. Do you happen to have more of that?”

Yes, he knew the Higurashi Shrine well – Asahi was often a visitor of its hallowed grounds. He often took small blessings , or paid coins and prayed. Stood in front of the Sacred Tree with silence wishes and hopes.
…It felt, odd, to admit to such. That he knew this was the Elder’s home. Somehow it felt as though Asahi were intruding where he need not be.
Even so.
Asahi gave a gentle, warm smile that was quick to fleet away from him; and his voice was strong and deep as always, but there was a respect for the shorter, frailer male in front of him,
“Not at all, Elder. I shall happily sweep in your stead.”
A content low hum is given at his response and the elder moves to slowly, carefully sit at a nearby bench. “You are a blessing to this aged priest, a blessing I say. I shall pray for your fortune.... errr what name should I include in my prayers?” eyes narrow to focus his sight on the young man’s face. “Have I seen you around before?”
HC that Gramps and Hojo are besties ok thanks

!!!!! ❝ maybe we should ask hojo for some joint cream for you. of all the things you’ve conned him in to giving me, that isn’t on the list. hm.❞
“hmmm... that Hojo is a good kid, Kagome. It would be in your best interest to have a nice friendly relationship with him. His knowlegde in medicine is unmatched in your generation.”
redratrobed.
“Elder, are you alright?” he says this mostly to be respectful ; it is quite clear from Higurashi’s countenance that he is, far, from fine. Asahi moves, steps forward, “Here. Allow me to help you back to your home. Or are you needed elsewhere?”
such a respectful young man. this man would make a fine husband to his beloved Kagome, wouldn’t he? She sure needs to be taught more respect towards elders. “Very nice of you, young man. These grounds are my home. But if you don’t mind -- my back hurts and there’s much sweeping to do. Would you be so kind?” he is getting lazy.
grunts. “Ah my joints!”

“Don’t worry Gramps, I won’t!” Moroha replies, a cherry grin crossing her features. Even if she did not really understand the whole connection she had to the person they all called ‘Kagome’, Moroha wasn’t about to not accept the love and especially the free gifts from everyone. In this short time, she really bonded with the Higurashi’s. If they really were her family like they assumed she was, then she was quite the lucky Beniyasha.
“Thanks again for all the cool stuff you’ve been teaching and giving me!” She says, going to hug the elder gently with all the love and affection a grandfather could want from his supposed granddaughter. “I’m sure it will be helpful for my quest! I hope I can see you and the rest of everyone again sometime too, after I go back home that is. Honestly, if we didn’t have our mission to help Setsuna Chan, I would stay here with you guys for a while! It’s been great!”
Ah, the little one sure is burning with the spring time passion of youth! He muffles a whine as brittle bones creak under the surprisingly powerful embrace of his great granddaughter. Eyes tear up as he yet again has to say goodbye to one of his treasured girls. But so is life, isn’t it?
“With the help of the Kappa foot and together with your friends, your adventures will blessed and successful, little Moroha. We will be here waiting for your return! Please visit your old grandfather as soon as you find the time.”
@inusedai said: Stares at him for a moment. Eyes narrow, ready to defend himself. "Don't do it, old man."
“It is of utmost importance to cleanse you of evil that you might have brought with yourself from the other side of the Well.”
The old priest shuffles to close the distance between them, he did not hear - or did not care about the boy’s warning. He goes ahead and hangs a wooden charm on each of the fluffy ears, unbothered, then starts to chant a solemn liturgy in a low, croaky murmur.
Ooooi Inuyashaa! A fine young man to make my little Kagome happy. Since you two have met she finally started to take up an interest in the family traditions. What a blessing from the spirits!
Send my muse something yours has always wanted to tell them, but don’t say who it’s from!
Inuyasha blinked, stifling a little giggle, it curling along the corners of his mouth. That narrowed it down at least: this was either Mama Higurashi, or Grandpa Higurashi .
Now that Inuyasha thought about it, he had never heard Kagome once speak about her father...
His ears twitched, and Inuyasha bashfully rubbed along the side of his hair, pushing some of it away from the side of his face,
“I-I don’t know if it’s really all my doing,” he felt awkward, accepting such high praise. The Higurashis were very spiritual, from what Inuyasha had understood, and he really respected their dedication to the shrine and the sacred tree and the bone eater’s well.
The thought that he had helped Kagome become closer to her family, it made him happy,
He brightened, gently grinning now, “but if it means that your family’s happy, then I’m glad to have helped!!”
@crimsonacrosstime said: "Oi, Gramps! Got any more goodies for me?! Do ya, do ya?!"
Finally a fine child who honors his life’s work like it was supposed to. Wrinkled lids close and a gratified sigh escapes as he silently murmurs a praise to the old spirits before turning to this little firecracker.
“MOROHAA!! Good luck charms are hard to make, did you know? It takes ten days of purifying the evil and another ten days of blessing. Very hard work indeed. So you better hold onto that Kappa foot, do not waste its immense spiritual power!”
