i think the reason "clark is basically dick's other dad" annoys me so much outside the intense need yall have to make every goddamn character you get your hands on fit into a nuclear family dynamic is the fact that a lot of this fandom also cannot conceptualize intergenerational friendships that are genuine and important to the characters and overall dynamic. dick isnt nightwing because clark is his "dad's" "boyfriend" dick is nightwing because clark is a very good friend who he looks up to a lot as a hero and also as a peer. they're friends, friendship is not lesser you all just have incredibly narrow minds
