Hey hey! I wanna ask if you thought about any Vegapunk!Sanji AU? I just thought of it after reading your AUs
Like what if Judge made some sort of deal with Vegapunk, and Vegapunk suddenly has a little Sanji fresh from the dungeon. Judge thinks it was a waste of resources so he gave his kid to his.. enemy? frenemy?

Sanji just being carted off in the New World to a man who ate a fruit that made him the smartest in the world. He lost the Lunarian he was working on. Vegapunk continues his work for the Government. The doctor looks sad sometimes, when he looks at the boy. Especially after he first arrived and they got the helmet off him. Sanji blinks at the island and what he's done with it. The harsh winter island warm and summery.
The doctor is a lot nicer than Judge and his scientists. He lets Sanji learn with him, about everything the Government was hiding. Vegapunk hides Sanji's knowledge through the experiments, an equal exchange for his life and knowledge he's gathering. Vegapunk takes to teaching Sanji with great aplomb and Sanji soaks the knowledge up like a sponge as he grows.
Sanji was probably determined to be a prototype of some weapon that didn't meet Government standards. When they meet Kuma, with the understanding of what's going to happen with his daughter and why he's doing it, they understand implicitly. Sanji, while a failed experiment in the eyes of many, is a capable living weapon for Vegapunk. His protection for when the inevitable happens. Even when the satellites are made.
Then they hear the news, about Sabaody, about Marineford, the Strawhat Pirates.
"Sanji," The doctor says looking at him making Sanji blink back at the man, "when they make it here, and they will. Go with them. You've spent enough time as a failed weapon. It's time to be a human."
"Do you think I still can?" Sanji asks, voice and feelings numb, but he can't tell if it's because of Judge or what came after.
"I think there's no better person to make sure you can." Vegapunk tells him. Sanji stays, watches, helps with the Satellites. Just waiting. It's inevitable to him, meeting the boy in the straw hat.
It's a couple years and some months later, when they make landfall with Jewelry Bonney. Sanji finding them with some of the satellites, when S-Shark and some others try fighting them and Sanji blinks at the Seraphim. Luffy and the others staring at him.
"Whoa, you're strong!" The captain laughs, making Sanji tilt his head as some of the satellites come over to them.
"Don't mind Sanji, he's a bit...out there. Head in the clouds." York laughs.
"Not quite human, not a satellite, not a cyborg either." Lilith grins at him. "Some sort of monster, though." Sanji just narrows his eyes at the satellite, but looks to the crew and the pink haired twelve year old.
"Vegapunk has been eager to meet you all." Sanji says, walking away. The crew following and Sanji looks back, makes eye contact with Robin. "You are from O'hara. You can read the poneglyphs."
"I am, yes." Robin agrees with narrowed eyes.
"You are not alone anymore." Sanji says, looking forward. "Doctor taught me how, and he does as well." Robin full stops, staring at the blond man in shock. Zoro however grabs the blond pulling him back and demanding answers as Bonney watches. Sanji manages to pull away to continue to the scientist.
Dr. Vegapunk looks at them and welcomes them heartily. Robin crying happily, knowing what they have done, what they have risked. Sanji watches as he asks Luffy when the crew departs, to take Sanji with. Doesn't explain the tragedy of being bought and sold, of the experiments, even though Luffy looks unsure.
Sometimes Sanji still dreams of his childhood fairytale. An ocean with more than ever been found. Sanji's hasn't felt love in so long, has never tasted freedom. Jimbe looks at him, scrutinizing, there's a wash of emotion that falls on the fishman's face. Nami is paying attention too.
Then they're attacked, not just by cipher pol, but other marines, by Kizaru. The satellites are scrambling, as is the crew as fights break and spread.
Sanji taking to protect the pink haired girl as the Pacifista's are called in and Sanji starts fending off other threats. He knows they won't hurt her, he knows what Vegapunk has done. Until Kuma comes, thanks Sanji. Sanji nods back as the he moves to protect the doctor that raised him. Kizaru demanding he stand down but Sanji just stares him down.
"I know why your father sold you off now, you're not good for much. Though I've been fond of you over the years." Kizaru says making others look at Sanji. "Step aside kid, you know I don't want to do this. Orders are orders."
"Then do it. I've never had freedom or justice, you would be doing me a favor." Sanji says, the pirates around him staring, Kuma's fist tightening at his side as Luffy stares, wide eyed at the blond. Kizaru sighs, sending another beam at him but Sanji deflects it easily.
Kizaru sighs, looking at Sanji with a sad look as Vegapunk watches, the two older men share a look, one that threads too deep into knowing things the monster doesn't.
"Sanji, I think it's time you leave Egghead." Vegapunk says, making Sanji stumble in his breathing. It's fast, the beam takes the life of the doctor, the shock on Sanji's face. Bonney screams and suddenly Nika is there, beside them. The suffocating sensation in the haki is something Sanji has never felt. He laughs, for the first time since his mother has died he laughs. Kizaru looks at Sanji, glaring.
"What is this feeling? I feel insane, like nothing can tie me down." Sanji demands.
"Freedom, you know what it's like now." Kuma answers him and Sanji has fisted his hands in his hair as he looks at Kizaru and the elder that has landed. Sanji not only feels freedom for the first time in his life, but pulsing and hot wrath, something that has festered for years.
"This is freedom? Gods, it feels great." Sanji has a crazed look that makes Kizaru take a step back, the most emotion he's seen from the boy the entire time he's known him. And then he's off to attack the Vice Admiral with a kick to the man's stomach that feels like it breaks the sound barrier. The man flies back as the video starts being broadcast to the world. Sanji and Luffy fighting the Marines and the Elder as the buster call is sent out. Sanji escaping with Lilith and the pirates after some giants show up. The satellite looking at Sanji curiously, as do the other pirates. Especially as Luffy recounts in telling them about Sanji with Bonney and Kuma.
"What's your dream?" Nami asks him as Robin puts a hand on his shoulder and Sanji blinks in confusion.
"I don't much, not anymore." Sanji answers and she looks sad at him.
"I mean, what did you want to do. Before all this." Nami clarifies as Sanji looks at his, now in ruins.
"I think it was an ocean." Sanji responds after a few moments. Jimbei hums to himself.
"Was it called the All Blue?" The fishman asks and Sanji nods slowly.
"My mother told me about it. Before we died." It's too familiar in his head, a voice long forgotten from the pain of experiments and surgeries. Being deemed a failure repeatedly. It's in the way he gets sad looks from the crew. Except Zoro and Luffy.
"I don't know, you look pretty alive to me." Zoro says.
"Especially compared to Brook!" Luffy laughs as the skeleton says something. Lilith looks at Sanji, in many ways Vegapunk lives on through the satellites, the seraphim and him. Sanji looks at the ocean.
"Why did they say you're not a human?" Zoro asks when it's just the two of them and Sanji looks at the sky, sees stars for the first time in a long time and breathes.
"Because I haven't been one in a long time. But I'll learn how to be again." The man answers.
