Tattoo artist and I were debating over where to place my thigh tattoo. lot of people commenting on this post like "who eats lunch at 4pm that's a terrible time to eat lunch" yes. that is the point. 4pm lunch is inadvisable. 4pm lunch is not the ideal. 4pm lunch makes the mind demons real.

the way the dominant ideology gets naturalised in almost every sphere of life makes people so resistant to examining it. so many people still naturalise the nuclear family, for instance. "ofc two people partner up and have children together, it's always been that way" except it hasn't always been that way and doesn't always have to be. things like childcare and providing/cooking food can be socialised. the nuclear family isn't necessary for social reproduction, and neither is the personal isolation and patriarchal oppression it supports

America has yet to keep one Indian treaty or agreement despite the fact that the United States government signed over four hundred such treaties and agreements with Indian tribes. i think there is a difference between a knowingly flawed character and a thematically uncomfortable character and knowing the difference is half the battle
knowingly flawed character: this character has traits that the author deliberately put in to show they have nuance and aren't perfect as a person. this will put them at odds with some readers and endear them to others, depending on them as people, and that's good!
thematically uncomfortable character: oh boy the author has some Beliefs
