God fucking damn it
That post that's like "afab housing reveals the difference between transmisogyny and transandrophobia: trans women are denied housing while trans men just have to misgender themselves to get housing" is so stupid. I think the only thing it reveals is these people's view that trans men getting misgendered is simply not as big of a deal as when it happens to trans women.
Like, in this hypothetical scenario, both the trans man and woman have the exact same choice: get misgendered or get denied housing... Except a trans woman getting misgendered is framed as worse than being homeless while trans men should just like... Shut up and deal with it, I guess.
This is actually a really good example of an issue all trans people experience and should be able to relate to each other about, but these people are too busy sniffing their own oppression Olympics farts to think about what other types of trans people go through.
Side note: where the FUCK even is all this supposed "afab only" housing? What scenario will people ever find themselves in where "afab only" housing is the only housing available to you? I have never seen this out in the wild despite living in Liberal MA. All gendered housing is just "mens" and "women's" usually with a coed option. I guess maaaaaaybe women's DV shelters? Which do not accept trans men btw.
This post acts like there's a plausible scenario where "afab only" housing is the only one available. But let's be honest: this is a really stupid idea. In reality trans people are forced to either stealth or live as our SIG just to be housed.
Like if you want to make a point about women only spaces that are exclusive to cis women being held up as necessary to cisfeminists without a parallel for men, that's usually a more valid argument. But with housing there's such a blatantly obvious parallel (most being separated into binary SIG) that is infinitely more common than whatever stupid niche feminist circles would have "afab housing."
Like, give me literally one example of "afab only" housing that:
a) actually accepts trans men without trying to detransition us
b) is a major institution and not some queer housing/cult type situation
c) has no coed option at all
And maybe this argument would have even the slightest bit of merit instead of being a hypothetical.
Honestly, any "afab only" housing that isn't just blatantly a cult would give this argument more merit.
Like, let's be honest. How common is "afab housing" compared to "I don't want to live with a tranny freak"?
A lot of you can't comprehend the idea that a trans man being forced into women's housing is in just as much danger of violence and rape as a trans woman being forced into mens housing. I'm not sure why this is controversial.
also, even under the circumstance someone IS offering "afab housing" there is every chance that what they really mean is "cis women and feminine nonbinary people I see as female who will not push back on my cissexism at all" and if a tranny with a beard and a deep voice rocks up suddenly "afab" will magically become "women" again.
you know... almost like what happens with a lot of nonbinary spaces and nonbinary people seen as male. but it seems like people only ever bring that issue up as proof of transmisogyny (never exorsexism) and something that could NEVER affect a "TME." its almost like refusing to engage with how anti-masculinity influences transphobia makes your transfeminism shitty.

This is Money Snake. She only appears every 312 years.
If you reblog her picture within the next twenty-five seconds you will have good luck and fortune for the rest of your life.
I reblogged her late last year and my 2024 has been very satisfying work-wise and (secure enough to not stress out) money-wise so far. Money Snake is wise and good.

Man, all of these news outlets specifically naming AO3 users, fics, and even linking to them is making me wish Heated Rivalry never happened, or at least never got popular. I loved the show, but this kind of thing is really concerning for fandom, which is already being invaded by normies barging in and enforcing their vanilla capitalist bullshit (I'm not saying HR is vanilla, but it has gotten a LOT of attention and is no doubt attracting swarms of people who are trying to figure out how they can profit from this moment).
Fandom has fractured and migrated countless times over the decades, but idk where we could go to escape the notice and control of the mainstream. Physical media? Paper zines? I'm certainly not handing out my real name and address... Something about all of this feels like a death knell.
There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Eat meat or don’t. I truly do not care. Do not pretend you are morally superior if you choose to care about animals more than people.
Itchy snoot.

keep seeing people being morally outraged there is emergency Narcan in elementary schools. uh yeah. kids are stupid and love to pop random pills like they’re candy. luckily, the only medication I got into as a child was my nana’s canker sore numbing gel but it’s good that Narcan is there because you never know when a kindergartener might get into their cancer patient grandma’s opioids. young kids fall victim to accidental overdoses fairly regularly, due to caregiver incompetence or sheer bad luck. they’re not there because 2nd graders are snorting fentanyl recreationally and even if they were, no child deserves to die and the Narcan is a very important emergency option. framing this as a symptom of societal moral decay and not a safety measure meant to protect children is fucking weird.
it is good that it is there. for students, for staff, for parents, for community members. the presence of an item that can prevent a traumatic death on school grounds is a good thing.
I’m sure the demographic of parents posting their reactionary moral outrage about Narcan in schools and the demographic of parents vehemently stating we need to ‘protect our kids’ and ban books with sensitive topics and keep any sort of sexual education out of schools has an almost 100% overlap rate. Pretending bad things don’t happen to children does not protect them, it actually makes more bad things happen to them.
Right! Exactly! These people with their complete lack of sympathy War On Drugs ‘just let addicts die’ mindset that cheered on Trump’s proposed budget cuts to naloxone distribution fail to realize that Narcan availability helps everyone and hurts no one. People in active addiction are not the only people who might overdose and require Narcan. Could be a little kid eating pills off the floor, could be a little old lady who forgot she already took her medication and took another dose, could be someone who was laced/spiked, it could be you. Even if people in active addiction were the only ones who needed Narcan, they deserve a chance at survival and recovery, their families don’t deserve to lose them, the unhealing hole that an overdose death causes in the community is worse for everyone than just keeping Narcan available. But, they turned off their empathy and their brains and they’re going to bitch and moan about lifesaving medication.
i miss everyone
the paris catacombs are 1000x more fucked up than i imagined
did you know the cops once found a fully functioning movie theater with a well-stocked bar inside the catacombs and they when they tried to go back later to formally investigate it was completely emptied out save for a note that read "don't search for us"
Underground french cinema
my little bro is part of the catacombs community and yeah, it's basically a fully autonomous society! enough that when my bro goes in on a friday night, they don't come out until monday for work- sometimes longer if they took days off.
some of the rooms have fully stocked pantries with cooking equipment, some have movies like the one described above, some have books you're allowed to just take but people always put back- every day people bring things from the outside. artists often set up galleries there. there are rooms with mattresses and hammocks set up for people to sleep. one of the room is just a place where people leave shoes for the fun of it.
this is Known, it's not a secret by any means. the catacombs are as big as paris itself, and people live there just as people live above. it's wonderful when you think about it.
A little update! My little bro is now my little sister. Please don't misgender her :)

Certain readers have owled us to ask whether the horoscope is based on real divination or just this humble publication's way to imply things we can't say directly.
The stars decline to comment but they are laughing knowingly.
They say the Goddess chooses her most devout believer to be her champion in times of crisis. Due to your past, you've hated that loathsome Goddess more than anyone in the nation. As it turns out, that also counts as believing in her more than anyone in the nation.
A lot of people hate to hear this, but they in particular really need to understand it.
If you were raised in the US, and you weren't specifically raised as a specific religion other than Christianity, then you are culturally Christian. Yes, even if you were raised atheist. Yes, I know you hate that idea. People who were raised in specific other religions in the US are usually still influenced by it, just not as thoroughly.
But specific Protestant values and attitudes have worked their way so far into US culture that we do not ever think about. (They've gotten into US Catholicism, too, Catholics elsewhere are frequently WTF at US Catholics, or so I'm told.) The "Protestant work ethic" is one of them, that "manager in your head" you should kill. Purity as a principle. The nobility of suffering (very Calvinist specifically). The prosperity culture (again, very Calvinist). A whole list. I'm honestly not good enough at Christian history to list it all. After all, I wasn't raised Christian myself. But I can see and acknowledge that I was raised in a culture with a Christian hegemony. If I pay attention, I can see where it's affected how I think. And when I do pay attention and look at it, I can change it. I can root out those patterns in my head. It's a lot of work, but it's well worth doing.
Denying that you are culturally Christian on the basis of your absence of Christian upbringing, or absence of Christianity now, just shows that you don't understand what cultural Christianity is. It is the culture that you have marinated in all your life, if you grew up in the US. The same way you've marinated in racism, classism, sexism, right on down the line (and generally they are all one thing). All of that affects you, and the only way to fix it is to acknowledge it and work on it.
This isn't a "hot take". It's just a fucking fact.
I'm posting at 10:30pm US Pacific time on a Sunday night, and fucking nobody is going to see this. Or reblog it. But I feel better having said it.
Do NOT leave this in tags!
My child will not be allowed to use chat gpt. He will be smarter and stronger than the other children and he will kill them easily.
