This is such a cute and helpful idea, especially since some people either didn’t grow up with someone who could teach them this stuff or they grew up with parents who did everything for them. I knew a lot of guys in college who didn’t know how to do laundry or cook!
summary: you get sick while playing in the snow after a storm, and vi comes to visit you.
a/n: HAPPY NEW YEAR OFMSGAHA
wc: 1k
warning(s): none !!
Winters in Piltover were never gentle, harsh blizzards always blowing through the city, but playing in the aftermath of a storm with your friends was always nice.
Unfortunately, you had gotten sick, and had to leave your friends down in the Undercity to rest up at your home back topside.
It was strange, having all these near-strangers take care of you instead of just your mother ((M/n) was helping, of course), a warm wet rag resting on your forehead, warm soup and tea resting on your bedside table.
Everything was okay except for the way you felt, your chest hurt from the cold and you were running a fever. You would constantly be kicking the covers off because of hot flashes or layering them up because you were shivering.
Vi, at this time, was 13, you were 14, and everything was right with the world. Vi and Powder were together, Vander and the others were breathing, and Silco hadn’t come into the picture yet.
And, Vi, being the worrier that she is, was preparing to make the cold journey up to your parents. She grabbed the stuffed bunny Powder was hanging onto, and Claggor wrapped the scarf Darius had made her when she was around… 7 years old.
“Pow-Pow, are you sure?“ Vi asked, hand on the front doorknob. Powder peeked out of the bathroom door, toothpaste smeared around her lips.
“Yeah, it’s fine. You can take it.” She gave her older sister a toothy grin, and then Ekko was calling her back inside. “I’m coming! See you later, Vi! Tell (Y/n) I said hi!”
Vi waved without turning back, shoving her hands in her pockets as the light snowfall whacked her face every now and then while walking to her destination.
She scolded you at first for being so reckless in the cold weather, but her attitude lightened upon the bright pink nose and cheeks of the girl she carried home. And when guilty, doe-eyed you looked up at her, she sighed, grumbling under breath something about “too cute,” and “dummy”, but you only smiled.
She came upon (M/n) and (F/n)’s home in around a half an hour, and as she stared at the front door while walking up the hill, she knew that the assistant would probably let her in, but there was no promising that reaction.
She ultimately decided to crawl into your bedroom window, and it was on the first floor so it wasn’t very hard. She wasn’t very concerned about her own well-being, her freezing fingers, and the chest pains she felt every time she took a breath. Her heart and mind were more focused on getting to you.
Vi slowly pushed up your bedroom window, crawling over. She looked to the bed to see your sleeping figure, neatly tucked in and laying on your back with a rag on your forehead, eye bags, and you looked slightly paler than usual.
Vi felt slightly guilty as she approached your bed; it was her idea to go and play in the snow, and you ended up getting sick. Powder was slightly confused, with you being an incredible fighter and all — Pow-Pow thought the girl she saw as an older sister was nearly invincible.
“Hey,” Vi greeted your sleeping figure, taking a seat on the chair next to your bed. She slipped her cold hand into your steaming hot hand, and it was slightly sweaty, but Vi didn’t care. She just wanted to hold you one way or another. “I’m sorry — I didn’t mean to sneak into your room like this. I didn’t know if they would let me in.”
Your hands were always softer than Vi’s, you was quite the fighter, but didn’t enjoy fistfights which resulted in your hands being less calloused. “I can imagine how lonely you must’ve been for bearing this alone.” She says, not noticing the slight eyelid moment from you. She doesn’t let go of your hand as she digs into her jacket, and pulls out her stuffed bunny. “If you are feeling lonely, she can keep you company when I’m not here, okay?”
She places the bunny in the crook of your arm, and you stay still. Vi smiles dotingly at you, steel-gray eyes softening at your peaceful and resting face, wondering how a single person could be so effortlessly beautiful at all times. Vi admired you for a minute longer before standing.
She bent down, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Alright, I gotta go now. Please get better soon, (Y/n).” She pulled away, and brushed a few hairs out from under the rag, knowing how you hated them. “I hate seeing you like this.”
She started on you way out, content with her visit even if she didn’t get to speak with her favorite person.
“Hey…” A hoarse voice called, and she turned, (e/c) eyes on her, scanning over her body. “You woke me up with your cold-ass hand.” You chuckled, and Vi began walking back to your bedside. “Where do you think you’re going, Pink?”
“(Y/-“
Your warm hand grasps her freezing one, and it warms her up, heart and body. Your gaze is drowsy and soft, and it doesn’t fail to make Vi’s heart race.
“I won’t let you freeze out there, Vi. So please, stay here with me.”
A few hours later, (M/n) knocked on the door, (F/n) standing behind her with another blanket.
She opens the door after a few seconds of silence, a warm smile on her face. “(Y/n), are you still—?”
(F/n) gently grabs her shoulder and shushes her, pointing at the sight in front of them. (M/n) feels her heart warm at the sweet sight of Vi sitting on the chair, hand clasped with yours, and you’ve rolled onto your side in an effort to get closer to Vi. Vi’s forehead was touched to yours, and her stuffed bunny was laid between you two.
(F/n) squeezed her shoulder softly before slipping inside, tiptoeing to Vi and draping the blanket he had for you over Vi’s shoulders. Vi stirred, but you gripped her hand tighter, and fell back into the peaceful sleep together.
