Too Far (BTS Jungkook -Halloween Special-)
Summary: The members try and get back at Jungkook for his Halloween pranks, but it backfires.
!Trigger warning!: fake blood, spooks.
A/N: the Jay Park Fic will be updated every Wednesday. Honestly, writing this scared me a little, and I was the one who came up with it. Happy (late) Halloween! Much Love!
It was no secret Jungkook enjoyed Halloween. He loved trying to scare his hyungs, dressing up, the goofy videos that they shot. But definitely, pranking his hyungs was his top favorite event. Last year, he set up an elaborate prank where he trashed the dorm and pretended to be murdered, which got him in a lot of trouble by Namjoon, because of the extra-messy dorm and the fake blood which had gotten everywhere, even the walls, and on some of Namjoon’s stuff. But Jungkook was determined to give them the best scare of the holiday.
“Hyung, please, I’ll pay for it!” The maknae begged, clutching pamphlets for a ghost hunting tour. Jin sighed. “With what money?” Jungkook refused to give up. “Can we go to that factory we shot part of a video once? That’s free. Please? It’s Halloween. We’ve been there before, please?” Jin was silently rinsing off dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. “It could be a really good Bangtan bomb.” Jin closed the dishwasher door and pushed the start button. “You just wanna go so you can prank us again.” Jungkook shook his head. “I won’t prank you, I don’t even know what I would do, I just want to go do something. We have the night off and I want to do something fun. Please?” Jin couldn’t resist the maknae’s puppy eyes. “Have you done your homework?” Jungkook nodded vigorously. “And I cleaned my room and the bathroom. Please?” Jin rolled his eyes. “Let me talk to Namjoon. No pranking though, or you’ll be grounded until we break up.” Jungkook’s jaw dropped. “So forever?” Jin nodded. “Grounded forever.” There was no way Jungkook believed that, Jin would forget about that punishment in a week, Jungkook inwardly smirked, a plan already rolling in his mind. “Deal. No pranking.”
An hour later, Jin pulled into the gravel parking lot in front of the rundown factory. It was nightfall outside, and, armed with flashlights and cellphones, they approached the entrance of the factory.  “You sure you want to do this? Jungkook nodded. “Come on! This is so cool!” He immediately ducked inside.
When Jin could see the flashlight bouncing around the windows, he gathered everyone left into a huddle. “Remember, silence your phones. Partner up. Jimin, you have the mask and the shirt?” Jimin nodded, patting his book bag. “Remember, don’t scream too much, make it believable. If he hasn’t found you yet, meet back here at 10. Fighting.” Jungkook appeared at the entrance. “Why are you all out here? Come on! I want to see what’s upstairs!” Jin nodded to the actors of Bangtan and ducked in after the excited boy.
Namjoon and Taehyung were the first two to split off. They hung around, and made sure they went around a second hallway and up the stairs to the office, based on what they saw on the internet and what they remembered from the video shooting. They were going to hide in the office, Jimin would follow soon after, pretending to be a demon and hide in the office with the pranking duo. Taehyung brought fake blood in Jimin’s backpack to put on their necks, as well as darker makeup to smear on their eyes. The office was easy to find, it had a partial nameplate, Kim Soo H-. The door was wedged shut, but Namjoon offered to be a battering ram. He rammed his shoulder into the door and it crashed open, breaking the wooden frame into rotting splinters.
“What was that?” Jungkook asked, turning to the group. Jimin looked around. “I’m not sure. I’ll go check!” Jimin ran off back the way they came. “Jimin!” Suga shouted. “Hyung!” Jungkook screamed after. “I’m going to go after him. Aish, this kid, making me run!” Suga took off after Jimin, disappearing into the dark. “Wheres Namjoon-hyung and Jimin-Hyung?” Jungkook asked, noticing he was only followed by J-Hope and Jin. “Namjoon? Taehyung!” Jin shouted. “Stop playing and get back here!”
Jimin made it to Namjoon and Taehyung, who were already in position sprawled behind the desk, both on their phones. When they heard the heavy breathing of one of their members, they dropped their phones and went lip. “It’s just Jimin, you idiots. Real inconspicuous. Do you have any blood left? I want to put some on my hands. Taehyung sat up with a whispered groan and passed the plastic baggie to Jimin, who dipped his hands in. “Tae, this is really thick, did you add too much starch to it?” V snatched the bag back, spilling a little bit on the floor. “Look what you made me do. I added what the internet told me to add.” They heard more footsteps racing up the stairs and the two bloody boys on the floor went limp, and Jimin dove under the desk, not yet dressed as the token demon and murderer. “Yah, you idiots, I can’t see in here, where are you?” The three popped out from behind the desk, causing Suga to jump back. “Jesus, are you trying to give me a heart attack?” Jimin stood and walked over to the rapper, flinging a bloody slap onto his back. “Good thing I wore an old shirt.” he grumbled. “Come on, old man, let’s get you nice and bloody.”
Jungkook, Jin, and J-Hope continued to sweep the area in small flashlight beams. After a while of calling out the names, Jin nudged J-hope, gesturing to another hallway that branched off. J-Hope aimed his flashlight away from Jungkook’s sight, turned it off, and slipped into the shadowy alcove. Jin followed suit not a second later, as silent as a cat. “Where do you think they are?” Jungkook asked Jin, peering into a large cement or metal container. It was just his voice that echoed back to him. “Hyung?” Jungkook began to panic. “Hyung!” He shouted. From somewhere far off in the factory, someone screamed, scaring Jungkook down to his core and his bladder. He took off running after the scream, and towards the exit. “Hyung!”
“Did he just scream?” The 6 members had met in the office room and partook in the bag of fake blood, smearing it on their face and necks. Suga was getting annoyed and opted to splay out on the stairs to wait for the maknae. “He heard the boy screaming after them and hissed into the office “He’s on his way.” Suga moved more into the shadows on the stairs. “This is so gross, when can we go home, I’m tired.” Jin popped out from behind the broken door frame. “Stop complaining. Aish. Get into character.” He laid back on the floor, as Jimin stood facing the corner. “No one make a sound.” Jin hissed again.
The first thing Jungkook saw was a foot. He dropped his flashlight at the scream and was relying solely on his gut instinct to know where his feet were going, but he almost fell back down the stairs at the sight of a foot. “Oh my g..Hyung?” He fell onto the stairs, wincing at the sharp gravel poking through his jeans. Yoongi wouldn’t open his eyes, and Jungkook felt stinging at the corner of his eyes, mostly of fear. “Hyung, please wake up.”
Suga tried so hard to contain his emotions, it broke his heart to break Jungkook’s heart.
Jungkook stood, looking into the room, after he saw an arm. Upon seeing his dead members, he let out the most horrific scream any of them have ever heard. Jimin whirled around and shrieked, chasing after Jungkook, but rather than running, Jungkook froze, with wide eyes, and crumpled in a heap onto the floor.
“Jungkook, wake up, c’mon man. It was just a prank.” Jimin, mask off, was desperately trying to wake up the maknae. It had been almost 5 minutes since Jungkook fainted, and all of the members had since shed their horrific costuming and were crowded around them. Jungkook twitched, Jimin clung tighter to him. “Bro? Hey, wake up.” Jungkook’s eyes fluttered open, and, training on his member’s red-stained face, he promptly burst into tears. They all took turns holding him, trying to comfort his wild wailing. “Shh, Jungkook, it’s okay, it was all a prank, we we’re trying to get you back for last year, we’re sorry it went too far. We’re not dying any time soon, okay“ He sniffed. “I was so scared, I thought you were all gone...” He began crying harder, wincing against Jimin’s chest. They cooed, touching his leg, back, shoulder. “Come on, let’s get out of here, and get you something to eat.” Jin said. “I’m not a baby.” Jungkook mumbled. “Tonight you are, mine. We hurt your feelings, and we want to make you feel better. Come on, lets go get pizza. Hop on.” Jin crouched in front of Jungkook and Jimin. When Jungkook began to protest, Jimin pushed him towards Jin. “Go on, you fainted, and we don’t want you walking in the dark. You could fall and hurt yourself.” Jungkook fell onto Jin’s shoulders, who strained a little against the maknae’s bulky frame. “The fans are right, you really are a muscle pig.” Jungkook lightly kicked him. “Let’s just get out of here.”
As they all piled into the van, Jungkook was a little more friendly with talking to them, but still avoided eye contact and was quiet. “Before I came looking, which one of you screamed?” Suga looked at Namjoon, who looked at Jimin, who looked at Jin, and so on.
“Jungkook. We thought that was you who screamed.” Taehyung said quietly.
Jungkook swallowed hard. “Let’s go get pizza, and then watch Iron man and play video games, sound good Jungkook?” But the boy wasn’t paying attention. Everyone was accounted for, yet inside, bouncing around the grimy windows was a beam of light, that was about the size of a flashlight. But that was impossible. They were the only ones in there, right?
