I suppose most people are more familiar with pet dogs than with falconry and therefore calling a dehumanized mech pilot a "hound" is more immediately evocative than calling it a "hawk," but you gotta admit the vibe of the handler as falconer and the pilots as their birds of prey absolutely slaps. If anyone ever does something like mechsploitation but with scifi fighter jets instead of giant robots, pleeeease call the pilots hawks
If i may

I’m gnashing my teeth like a child of Cain
If this is a prison I’m willing to bite my own chain
[ID: Artwork of a coyote with a chain around its neck, the chain has broken. There is text which says 'I'm a woman as much as a coyote is a dog. In the same genus. In the same family. Maybe looks the same, definitely at a distance. Too wild, too different to even pretend. End ID]
you are cordially invited to my pretentious son's french new wave-themed bar mitzvah. you may note the ironic tone of his dvar torah and the use of jump cuts in his childhood photos slideshow.
While looking for something I found an older Ryoko Kui Blog and there's some proto-dungeon meshi art there. I've seen these around before but didn't know the source!
I'm not sure if the last comic is related but it was in the same post titled ダンジョンRPG的な (Dungeon RPG-Like according to google) from 2012
nobody tells you about the stage in a friendship where you discuss your stools. i don't think i've ever been happier than when a friend confides in me about their diarrhea.
ive extended my theory to the following: when you can talk about gross shit with your friends, without feeling embarassed or them going like 'ew gross' you have achieved ultimate friendship

Cats understand "naughty". In fact I think they're the only animal who understands it. Dogs know "good" and "bad" but not Naughty. Same with theft. Cats know what theft is. They know when they are thieving and you can see it on their faces. Squirrels are thieves but they don't know that. They know "take" and "have" but they don't comprehend what it is to steal. Nor do raccoons or coyotes or any species of rodent. They may participate in theft but they are ignorant of the weight of what they do, the full meaning of it. Cats know what crime is and they do it on purpose.
I want to talk about why I think this is the one of the most important Falin panels:
There was a Senshi’s Journal booklet with one of the Japanese manga volumes that showed Senshi’s POV on events up to chapter 51. An anonymous person posted raw scans and translation on a forum. So I figured I’d make a scanlation.
(I tried to translate/romanize some parts that weren’t in the translation, but I’m not exactly great at it).

Distant Utopia - from ひきだしにテラリウム (Terrarium in a Drawer) by Ryoko Kui
now that Dungeon Meshi has an official English translation, i hope someday Kui’s other work will get translated too. this anthology was really good, and this story was one of my favorites
metroid au where a young samus befriends a sk8t group who teach her to board but theyve since disbanded so now she carries on their legacy alone
