Love when Spock refuses to admit that he lies. Kirk will be blatantly like "Spock, I have seen you lie." and Spock is just like "I have no such ability, captain." Liar of all time.
and even more so in this last episode, when he participates in Una's lie and Doug is like: "your ability to lie like that is extraordinary" and "as a complete Vulcan I cannot lie".

Zoya Nazyalensky had done the stupidest possible thing she could ever do.
She had fallen in love.
And to add to her pile of agony, she'd fallen in love with a woman who was incredibly oblivious to it all.
You were the smartest, bravest, and the kindest person she’d ever come across.
And she noticed every little thing about you.
The way your hair fell near your eye while you were writing , the way your lips formed a pout when you were deeply focused on a task.
The way you somehow managed to lighten the air even in the direst of situations.
The way you always managed to pick out the good from a massive pile of the most horrible things.
Those were all of the reasons why Zoya found you insufferable.
And also the reason why she'd fallen for you.
But right now, all she could do was glower as you danced with another man.
“You know if looks could actually kill, poor Friedrick would've dropped dead onto the floor right now” Nikolai appeared by her side.
Zoya spared him a brief glance before focusing her attention back to you and that pathetic man.
“Champagne?” Nikolai offered her a glass.
Zoya snatched it from his hand at poured it down her throat in one sip. “I don't even understand what she sees in him” she scoffed.
“His hair looks like it's glued-on hay and his frame resembles a broomstick” she rolled her eyes.
“Perhaps it could be because he actually tells her what he feels” Nikolai took a sip from his own glass.
“instead of bottling up his feelings and watching her from afar” he raised a shoulder.
Zoya curled her lips into a frown as she looked back at him. “You're supposed to be on my side here”.
“I'm just saying”. He picked up one of the tiny cakes from the dessert table behind them and popped them in his mouth.
“How would she know how you feel if you don't tell her” he shrugged.
“Hm I've got to thank Genya for picking these” He picked up one more of the tiny cakes.
“Ugh why can't there be an easier way” Zoya groaned.
“Zoya darling we all know you'd rather face the Fjerdan army all by yourself than face your feelings” Nikolai pouted.
“But unfortunately there's no other way around” he pointed the cake at her.
“It's either that or watch her get married to that scarecrow” he let out a disgusted snort.
Zoya pressed her lips into a thin line. Even imagining you with anyone else made her feel like she was being repeatedly jabbed in the chest with a knife.
“Fine” she sighed. “I’ll tell her”.
“Yes!” Nikolai beamed. “Okay we can plan a-”
“When I get the chance” she cut him off. “No crazy plans”.
“Fine” Nikolai sighed. “I'll take what I can get”.
Zoya swatted his hand as he reached to grab another one of the tiny cakes. “You've had too many already”.
So the plan was set and it was going to be play out perfectly.
***
The plan was a disaster.
Because in the coming days, Zoya barely got to see you outside of meetings and mandatory gatherings.
After every meeting you'd leave before she could so much as utter a word to you.
You barely even spoke to anyone at tonight's ball, and had slipped out far too soon before Zoya could even try to speak to you.
But lucky fo her, she'd known exactly where to find you.
She slipped out from the ballroom and walked towards the secluded balcony.
And there you were.
Leaning against the railing, hair swaying gently in the calm breeze.
The moonlight was reflecting on your features and in that moment, Zoya forgot how to breathe right.
You turned to face her as she whispered your name, like a secret, like the only prayer she was actually saying from her heart.
But instead of greeting her with a smile like you always did, your perfect features were swathed in an unprecedented melancholy.
Your tear stained cheeks and tired eyes made Zoya feel the urge to knock the air out of the lungs of whoever had made you feel that way.
She took slow, hesitant steps towards you. "Are you alright?" she asked you.
'Yeah I'm-" you cleared your throat when your voice came out much more hoarse than you'd thought. "I'm alright".
"What are you doing here all by yourself?" Zoya asked.
"Just needed some air, I'm fine" you turned away. "Just go back to the party Zoya" you sighed.
Zoya's lips curled into a frown.
But instead of walking away, she extended her hand and gently placed it on top of yours.
You whipped your head back towards her, taken aback by her gesture.
"I know something's wrong" she said. "And whether you wish to talk about it or not, that's up to you".
"But I'm here for you" She offered you a nod.
You sighed, "It's just…. Friedrick" you looked away.
Even hearing the pathetic man's name made Zoya want to punch something but instead of focusing on her own emotions, she instead focused on yours.
"He's just been acting so indifferent lately" you looked down.
“He can't possibly expect me to be there for him at every damn event he attends, just so he could show me off like some prize he's won" You sighed in exasperation.
"And today, he didn't even bother to show up himself" you jerked your free hand. "Said these events are not important to him".
You slowly shook your head, “I don't know just what to do with him".
The words left Zoya's mouth before she could think further, "You deserve better than him".
You blinked, unsure if you'd heard her wrong.
You turned to meet her gaze.
Zoya took a deep breath, if she was going to do this, it had to be now. "You're everything and he's nothing,” lifted her shoulders.
“You're kind, gentle, patient" Zoya blurted out.
"And the smartest person I've ever met".
You let out a small chuckle, “Coming from you that means a lot,”you assumed she was just saying it lightly.
You expected her to make some snide remark and walk away.
But instead, she took both your hands in hers, "He doesn't deserve you" she shook her head.
You blinked, ignoring the unprecedented feeling that rose in your chest.
You blinked, unable to comprehend her words.
"Do you actually mean it, Zoya?" you ask, your voice trembling.
"Every word" she whispered.
Her hands reached out for your face. "I would love you in a way he never can" she said.
"I would love you more than anything I've ever loved," she swallowed.
"I do love you more than anything I ever have".
You parted your lips.
The beating of your heart reverberated onto your skin.
You were glad there weren't any heartrenders around you.
"You love me?" you asked, your voice shook, like a curled up leaf in the autumn breeze.
You expected her to deny it, expected her to tell you that it was some cruel joke she'd been playing on you.
But instead, she just gazed at you.
She looked into your eyes as if she might drown in them, and wouldn't mind if she did.
She looked at you as if she would gladly drown in your eyes, and be grateful as the water filled up her lungs.
Her thumb grazed over your skin, "I've always loved you".
You could've sworn your heart stopped.
You didn't speak, didn't hesitate, you leaned forward and pressed your lips against hers.
When you pulled away, you expected Zoya to be appalled, to curse at you, to toss her hair and walk away.
But instead, she wrapped her arms around your waist and pulled you back towards her.
She kissed you like she'd been aching for it, she kissed you as if she was trying to savor the taste of you, she kissed you like she needed it more than air.
When you pulled away, Zoya brushed away the loose strands of hair away from near your eye.
“I’ve been waiting for this for so long” Zoya’s lips curled into a smile.
“Well that's the biggest surprise I've ever gotten” you flashed a grin.
“Although I'm not surprised that my charm has turned the very ruthless Zoya Nazyalensky into a lovesick fool” you sighed dramatically.
Zoya rolled her eyes playfully, “You're insufferable”.
“And yet you love me” you shrugged.
“That I do” Zoya gave the barest titlt of her head before kissing you again.
About the last episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (ep4) "A Space Adventure Hour"
We have La'an/Spock, guys. I had no idea. In the first season, I even wanted it, but now I want them to be best friends, you know.
And Kirk trying to do the Riker maneuver in the bloopers was really funny.
The way they talk about "The Last Frontier" but are actually talking about the original series really got me; I was moved.
And yet, if the damn holodeck already gave me problems the first time I used it, why do they still install this thing?! Okay, they recommend it be serviced and all, but the holodeck ALWAYS has problems!
If you are down for it, I would love to see what you come up with for Data with the "cuddles" prompt?
I hope you have an amazing day/night and your pillow is cool on both sides 🩵
As soon as I saw your request I had to write this straight away, I hope it was good and that you like it.
Cuddles with Data
After a mission that didn't go as planned, you're heading back to the USS Enterprise. Your team would meet with Data, the commander would go with you to the captain to deliver the mission report.
You were quiet the whole way from the transporter room to the captain's office, attracting Data's curious gaze. It was not yet known to the crew that you had gone on a few dates to get to know each other. There was something about the android's calm personality that caught his attention, contrasting with the bubbling day-to-day life inside the ship.
You head straight to your quarters after the meeting, leaving behind a confused Data at the strange and distant way you were acting.
He notices that you're not just quiet — something else seems to be affecting you. Your eyes, normally vibrant and expressive, seem dull, and sadness seems to hang over you.
Intrigued by his way of acting, Data decides to talk to Counselor Troi. He knows that even if he tries, he will never fully understand human emotions on his own.
"Deanna, can I ask you something?" When he sees his friend nod, he continues. "I noticed that the behavior of a person close to me has changed drastically. I can't determine the cause, but I know there is something wrong, her change in behavior doesn't seem to be a matter of logic. Should I address the situation or wait for her to open up on her own?"
"Oh, I see... Remember that emotions don't always follow the path of logic, Data? It's not often that we can express what's going on with us. Maybe a simple hug can be more effective than anything else." Deanna, with her empathetic gaze, smiles softly.
"Muito bem. Obrigada Conselheira."
Later, when you are alone in the ship's cafeteria, with your shoulders hunched and your eyes lost, Data approaches. The silence in the room is comforting, but it also carries a tension — as if the words were just on the verge of being said, but still haven't arrived.
He hesitates for a moment, but decides to sit next to you at the table in silence..
“I don't fully understand human feelings, but I realize you're going through something. If you need help, I can offer a hug." You look at him, surprised by the breaking of the silence, but you feel a strange warmth in your chest.
Your eyes meet his, and there's an undeniable sincerity there.
Data, with his characteristic calm, steps forward but hesitates for a moment, as if he is considering whether what he is doing is right. He then carefully extends his arms and, in an almost... human way, waits for your response. Approaching slowly, you feel relief in your chest.
The gesture is simple, but the feeling is of a reconnection that you didn't know you needed so much.
