New reaction image for âposting something on the internet and having it be wildly misinterpretedâ
In 1997, local television in Kharkiv accidentally filmed one of the most iconic rave moments in history.
Endlessly diabolical how you can't say words like rape and suicide uncensored without either being criticised by idiots or punished by conglomerates.
It's not r*pe, it's rape. It's not su*cide, it's suicide. Not unalive, dead. The backbone needs to be reintroduced en masse because softening the blow of these concepts with advertising language does absolutely nothing but allow people unaffected by them to feel not even a sting of what they can do, prompting inaction.
And it's been proven that on certain websites, you don't even face a repercussion for using the words as they are. People just started censoring themselves because they feared the potential lack of views and likes and followers which is so nasty itself.
I attended an anti-suicide seminar in college. One of the big takeaways from it was that stigmatizing suicide increases the rate of suicide, because people who are feeling suicidal feel like they can't ask for help. Every time I see babytalk garbage like 'unalive', I think of that.
Use the real words. Words have power, and they matter.
Thereâs a branch of the Medicis that moved to Ireland and now are running a successful chain of fried chicken restaurants which is a very different vinbe from when they were like buying popes and stuff
The current heir to the main branch of the Hapsburg family is an endurance race car driver
#if he got rid of some middle names i bet he would be more aerodynamic and better at racing via @/honeyseller
Correction: it's not the Medicis who run the Dublin fried chicken shops, but the direct decendants of the enemies of the Medici; the Borgias. The chain is called Borza and is better known for fish and chips. They moved to Ireland in the early 20th century. They are also said to have introduced the deep fried Mars bar from Scotland to Ireland.
The Borgias, among the most feared and reviled families in European history, running a fish 'n chips shop with deep fried Mars bars is one of the funniest things I've ever heard. It's like something from a D&D campaign where they decided to completely change genres.
Brutus committed to the bit 100%.
Brutus, buddy, this is absolutely hilarious, but I think I understand now why Dante put you in the lowest pit of hell.
Fortunately, the lowest pit of hell is Tumblr
like. iâm just supposed to be normal about percy bodily blocking annabeth from tantalus. iâm just supposed to be normal about percy putting annabeth behind him when tantalus is aiming a celestial bronze tipped arrow at them. iâm just supposed to be normal about percy instinctually holding out his arm in front of annabeth to protect her even when theyâre in the middle of an argument, when he thinks sheâs betraying him. iâm just supposed to be normal getting war flashbacks to ânobody touches herâ. iâm supposed to go about my day as normal when percy jackson casually puts annabethâs safety before his own.
"liked by charles leclerc" man is the ferrari itself đđ
âTheyâre really pushing Percabeth in the show way too early!!â Are they tho ? are they ? or are they just correctly portraying Percy âmy fatal flaw is loyaltyâ Jackson ??? because so far Percy has shown the same amount of love and care towards both Annabeth and Grover, he has both of their pictures up on his mirror (that he both longingly looks at), so far the two most important things for him have been a) Annabeth acting strange and b) Grover being in danger, he fully went against camp orders to go search for Grover and in the same breath put himself in front of Annabeth to protect her, Grover has been mentioned just as often as Annabeth has. So are they really pushing Percabeth that hard or are they just portraying Percy for who he is, someone who deeply cares and loves his friends ?
Leah was doing such incredible things in the doorway scene like ugh, I canât believe we got so lucky to have her playing Annabeth.
From the very moment Percy opens the door, you can just see how nervous she is. She came to talk to him because she knows she needs someone to help her through all this, but it also means being vulnerable in a way that she hasnât really allowed herself to be (or been given the grace to be before). And she also wants to be there for him, something that she doesnât have the best track record with (not being able to protect Luke, Thalia, or Grover).
But, then she gets immediately reminded that while she basically has no one in the world right now but Percy, itâs not the same for him. He has Tyson, his Cyclops brother. Two pronged sword for her because she just experienced another betrayal at the hands of her own brother and one of the most traumatic events in her life was a Cyclops trying to kill her and her found family.
She already had to let Tyson into camp because Percy wouldnât leave his side. Now, itâs become starkly clear that Tyson is part of Percyâs life, his family, and she canât really be close to Percy without accepting him, which is something sheâs really not willing to work through right now.
But, sheâs already feeling betrayed by Luke, and now those feelings are bleeding into this moment with Percy. So, in an attempt to maybe get him to see just a little glimpse of that, she confronts him about not Iris messaging her. Which then backfires when he flips it around and asks her the same question. This is the first hints of âI canât lie to himâ that we see. She wanted to keep him at armâs length. But suddenly sheâs being painfully vulnerable with him, even while sheâs trying not to be.
And, this is the part that really gets me: she literally goes running for the hills as soon as she realizes it.
Annabeth stomping out of the woods in her little pink hoodie, breathing heavily because she ran all the way to catch Percy before he left đ. My sweet baby girl.
Percy getting more exaggerated with this movements because heâs like âIM MAD AT YOU!â Lmao, heâs soooo dramatic đđ. And listen, I get it, but this is just the beginning of Percyâs âAnnabethâs-pulling-away-from-me-I-gotta-do-something-CRAZY!!â act and Iâm very glad the show knows exactly who he is at his core.
âAnd I canât lose another friend!â Wow, well why donât you just stab me in the heart. My poor girl, she really doesnât know how to handle any of this, she just wants a friendddd. The way thatâs what got Percy to stop and listen, ugh, these writers want me dead.
âAnd then I came here, and I met you,â as heâs leaning down to look into her eyes⊠đ”âđ«. I already knew chemistry was on 10, but whoaaaaa.
The way she just spills that she wasnât happy and she didnât want to lie to him and tell him she was, but she also didnât want to make him feel bad, so she just ghosted him for a year đ. Peak 13 year old behavior right there.
But itâs also like⊠she tells Percy she was bored and she didnât like middle school (Annabeth doesnât like school!!! My favorite headcanon being canon in the show because these writers get her like nobody other than me) or movies or rollercoasters but then she says âyou can be a demigod and you can go home to your mom and just be a kid. I just know how to be a demigod.â Annabeth Chase feeling abnormal in her mortal home where sheâs supposed to have the space to be a kid because her father and stepmother will always see her as a danger. Annabeth Chase whose mother tried to kill her for something she didnât even do. Annabeth Chase who doesnât belong anywhere, with anyone, and it hurts so bad all the time âčïž.
âAnd that means we canât be friends?â Look how far weâve come from âI chose her because I didnât think we could ever be friends!â But also, Annabethâs FACE when he said that (LEAH SAVA JEFFRIES I WILL PERSONALLY GET YOU THAT EMMY)! Sheâs like âwho said that???â Lmao Percyâs so clingy, sir calm down. She literally just called you a friend. (I get that he feels that way because she literally ghosted him for a year though).
Percy wanting her to come to him with her fears and worries so that itâs less scary. He wants to be there for herrrr. Iâll fucking lose my mind guys, they put CRACK in these interactions. And then being like: so why donât you tell me about this other thing? THE WAY HE FUCKING KNOWS SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON. Ugh. Ughhhhhh.
Very important to me that the show is not making Percy some oblivious bafoon who canât tell a shoelace from a thread, especially concerning his own feelings (particularly about Annabeth). Big chunk of this fandom genuinely believes he just didnât know what was happening the whole time, meanwhile, that boy is YEARNING!
TV percabeth actually better than book percabeth I SAID WHAT I SAID!
Percy was so funny for smirking like that when Clarisse got super close while flirting with Chris as if HE HIMSELF doesn't always take two or three steps forward towards Annabeth when he's talking to her for the past 2 episodes.
Percy the pot is calling the kettle black. The call is comming from inside the house. Takes one to know one my guy.
first her sister dies, then her brother betrays her and abandons her, then her surviving best friend fucks off and drops off the grid in search of nature, then her brother comes back to piss on her sisterâs grave and kill her again, the horse dude that functions as the closest thing she has to a parental figure is imprisoned, and then her only friend left is a thirteen year old boy who just rocked up with a giant traumatic memory for her to relive while she tries to search for their shared bestie. and to top it all off sheâs 13 and going through puberty. annabeth chase is truly the godsâ strongest soldier because i think any one of these things wouldâve caused me to utterly lose my shit
guys i love paul so much he is my king
(im aware that this might be out of character but đ€·ââïž)
I don't trust people who hate annabeth chase
Walker: "I'm just casually looking at her. People are reaching!"
The casual looks:
You're angry. You feel she betrayed you. Percy, what's going on? Dude, I wish I knew.
Can we talk about how Percy treats his friends? Annabeth and Grover's pictures are both on his mirror. He took the time to print them out and hang them up. He looks at them every morning. He and Grover have such a strong bond that it forms an empathy link. He would make the journey to the Bermuda Triangle alone if it meant bringing Grover home. He has been dying to hear about the most mundane parts of Annabeth's life. He wants her on his team in every aspect. Yes, he looks at Annabeth like he loves her. He looks at Grover the same way. He just loves his friends so much. He would (and will) follow them to the ends of the earth just so they don't have to go alone. He is the biggest defender of his friends, not necessarily because he's the best at it, but because he has such a strong belief that the people he cares about deserve to be protected. I will forever love him for being such a good example of what friendship and love should look like.
