Unarmed Black Man With Hands Up Shot By Police.
Charles Kinsey, 47, a behavior therapist from South Florida was shot in the leg three times by the police in North Miami while laying on the ground with his arms up and trying to help his patient with autism who had run away from a group home.
It all started when someone called 911 and said there was a man walking around with a gun. However it was Kinsey’s patient who was sitting on the ground cross-legged, playing with a toy truck.
Charles got shot by police despite telling them he was only trying to help his patient.
The police shot him, handcuffed him and left him on ground bleeding.
North Miami police have not released much information at all. They haven’t released the officer’s name, they haven’t given us an update on the investigation. However, they did say that the state attorney is now a part of this investigation.

A white female journalist was permanently blinded in one eye after being shot in the eye. I promise you police will assault you regardless of how you are dressed.
If anyone reading this was under the impression that police go easy on white female protesters or female protesters who meet some standard of “correctly” feminine dress or any female protesters, please, please learn more about the history of women’s participation in mass demonstrations and police responses to them. “Chicks up front” didn’t work out too well as a strategy for protecting crowds of anti-Vietnam War protesters. Two of the Kent State four were women. When Occupy New York was going on, people who were there posted about how the police often seemed to be targeting female protesters, including white female protesters, more than male protesters. If you’re thinking about participating in the ongoing protests, go with your eyes wide open. And for goodness’ sake, don’t go in heels.
Reminder that Stonewall wasn’t about marriage equality. Stonewall was about police brutality. It was about systemic abuse and subordination. Stonewall was spearheaded by black trans women. As we celebrate Pride 2020, within the context of the Black Lives Matter riots, it’s imperative that we remember that.
Riots in protest of police brutality are the reason that we have more rights today. Do not forget your roots.
You can’t celebrate Pride while simultaneously condemning the Black Lives Matter riots and protests that are happening right now. Know your history.
Iroh spent 3 years trying to determine which of Zuko’s reactions to things were caused by his trauma and history of abuse and which were caused by the fact that Zuko was literally 15.
Like during that scene in The Waterbending Master where Zuko refused to leave his room, Iroh was probably thinking “Lu Ten also had his moments of slamming the door and staying in his room all day ,,, is this the same or did something remind Zuko of Ozai and/or Azula and now he’s suffering?”
I think a great example of when Zuko comes home from his date in “Tales of Ba Sing Se.” He comes home and slams the door, ignoring Iroh’s question of how his night went. And at first Iroh’s spirits seem to fall. Iroh was definitely hoping something “normal” like a date would help Zuko continue to heal and grow past his traumatic past.
So when Zuko storms in and slams the door, Iroh is sad because he thinks something made Zuko upset. Something just solidified the idea Zuko has in his head that he doesn’t deserve good things.
Then Zuko slides the door open again and says, so shyly, that his night has good. And that precious hope that all our main characters have been struggling with in Book 2 comes back to Iroh. He realizes Zuko slamming the door was just him being a kid—a kid who was forced to grow up too fast and is playing catch-up with those weird teenager feelings—like feeling shy about having a good night with a girl.
dogs were deployed in buffalo, new york. i remember when dogs were deployed at standing rock as well. please educate yourselves about how to deal with dogs while they are attacking, as well as the wounds after (which have a high chance of infection). offer a dog your non-dominant arm and hit its shoulders (not head) with your dominant hand. pull dogs off fellow protesters by grabbing their hind legs, pulling, and throwing them as far as possible from both of you. you can’t outrun a dog, but this will buy you time to find safety.
if you know any local street medics, check in with them about this very real possibility at your local protests so that they can educate themselves and others about dog bites.

“hi wanted to comment as another person who worked with training dogs. wheelbarrowing is not recommended a lot of the time because the dog CAN flip around and bite you, including your face!
frankly i would recommend having citronella spray of some kind on hand. its unpleasant AND not sus to carry. i have no issue with spraying the shit out of an aggressive animal or kicking it tbh. whatever keeps you safe.
if youre in a situation where a dog is latched on its recommended to choke them out by using a rope or lead under their jaw, lifting and pushing forward. they have to pick whether to hang on or breathe.
OH AND! COPS DO NOT! EVER! OUT THEIR DOGS! k9s intentionally are NOT cued to release because of "liability". choke those dogs OFF!!!!!!! thats what cops do every time.”
as a former dog trainer myself, i seriously can’t state enough that police dogs are trained via long term abuse and are often put down after retirement due to aggression issues. i know a lot of us don’t want to think about the reality of having to hurt a dog, but please put that aside and consider this should it become a reality where you live. it may save your life or someone else’s.

YEP! These are meant to be skipped into the ground and then spin into people's legs and dissuade people from advancing or move them away. FIRING THEM AT PEOPLE'S HEADS IS 100% AGAINST THE PROPER USE. 1) these are absolutely not supposed to be fired directly at people, they are supposed to be fired indirectly.
2) they can kill and seriously injure people
3) this type of "rubber bullet" (often called a "foam baton" or "rubber baton" round) is a lightweight projectile that will nonetheless fuck you up. I've loaded and worked with foam batons and rubber shot for a long time and in all the time I've worked with people who were loading and firing rubber bullets with police departments I've never encountered any version of a 37 or 40mm baton round that has a "thin layer of rubber over a metal core," which is a description I've seen a lot of in the last few days and wanted to correct.

What I will say, and I know it's cold comfort, is that everyone in photos like these has an incredible case against these PDs because the rounds they're firing say right on the casing that they're not to be fired except by properly trained users in appropriate ways so either this is a trained person who ignored the training and can be held liable or this is an untrained person whose department should be held liable
They 100% know this is not how these are supposed to be used and they are intentionally misusing them in ways they are aware make the weapons more lethal and will later claim they didn't know better. They're lying, and everyone should know they're lying.

It was a month ago, but still, it would've gone unnoticed if the video wasn't posted. Giovanni's family was bribed and threatened by the mayor to not release the footage or talk about the case.
Guys, seriously, this is important, Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos is part of my state, not far away from where I live and the governor is saying we should not believe what's going around in the media. THEY ARE TRYING TO SHOVE THIS UNDER THE RUG, THEY HAVE DONE IT BEFORE AND WE CAN'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT.
Here's the petition to have the policemen responsible of Giovanni's death resign and go to prison, as well as having the mayor investigated.
