Anywizzle, I’ll give some lore on the newer stories with Cassian and Olivia.
Cassian was born into a small family with an older sister who was much older than him and basically wanted nothing to do with him. As he was small, whiney, and just interrupted her time with her friends. So much so that it led to an incident where he got hurt and she left him behind. Parents were upset at her but didn’t do much as they only made sure he wasn’t seriously hurt and went about the usual routine.
From then on, Cassian made it his mission to help others who were in vulnerable positions and trained himself as an officer once he was old enough. He takes his work seriously and often takes control of things himself. He doesn’t like working with others and does show displeasure (but still goes along) when he’s forced into a team. He’s in little contact with his family as they also didn’t make much effort to contact him and he’s fine with that.
Even through his stoic attitude, he is still gentle with others. Such as small kids and animals. He loves coming into schools to give lessons on being an officer and lets kids question his eye patch. Giving very wild stories about how he lost his eye. He doesn’t like using a gun, instead uses a taser and baton to subdue criminals. Even Gabriel once he was assigned to capture the crazed doctor. He’s gotten him a few times and Gabriel has gotten him a few times too. But he won’t stop until he’s behind bars and can’t escape again.
Olivia grew up in the big city and was quite spoiled. Her dad worked for the mining company and her mom was overseas. Her father spoiled her due to Olivia’s mom being gone a lot but also taught her life lessons and how to have fun. From this, she loves to go exploring even if she opposes being filthy. She loves dressing up and causing a bit of mischief. However, she knows to balance that with working (cleaning the house and organizing) and wants to work in coding.
She also has two friends who she’s known for forever! Mariam and Ashley are her close friends who gossip about everything, had many sleepovers and love to go out shopping. She’s also had her times of dating but she found out most were either after her money or her popular status in school. Which her friends warned her about and she dropped them fast. (Around this time she got use to a catchphrase of telling people to “Bug off” whether playfully or when someone is annoying her or others. ^^)
Her city, friends and her family are everything to her and she always planned on staying in her hometown after graduating. However, her father spoke of his promotion and soon move to a small town. It broke her deeply and she had a lot of talks with her friends cause of this. Who were supportive to her and promised to keep in contact. (With Mariam hinting at her boyfriend about to pop the question.)
Hence once Olivia and her dad went to the small town of Black river mountain, she was on her phone for that first week texting her friends. She still helped out while her father was out, unboxing and organizing everything. He’d thank her but still she was annoyed about the move, only giving one word answers and didn’t leave the house. Until she was bored of being in the house, so she got dolled up and went out while her dad was working. Wearing her big hat to block out the sun and noticing the stores and posters of a river monster. She thought it a tall tale but that was about to change when her big A- hat didn’t let her see a certain man biking towards her.
