Erebus emitted a chuckle and stepped aside. “Deal.” He said as he took a seat next to her on the sand. It wasn’t the most favorable place for Erebus to talk to his daughter but he imagined this would be one of the rare moments where he’d be able to talk to her alone. It had been months since he’d been in contact with any of his children, but it seemed time was elusive when it came to working for Hades. “Speaking of saving, I imagine you nor Aether were hurt seeing as you’re happily seated here.” He said and although his tone was flat, it was meant to be a statement of concern.
Hemera settled back into the sand and adjusted her sunglasses in her hair, making sure that they were still where she wanted them to be. Appearance was after all everything. Frankly, she hadn’t expected dear old Dad to cave quite so quickly, so she was pleasantly surprised to see him step out of the light and let her return to her sunbathing. A pleased smirk played on her lips as he sat down next to her, and she turned her head slightly to the side (just enough so it wouldn’t mess up her sun exposure) and watched him with curious eyes. “Actually, I left early that night...” she started, but trailed off. Since they hadn’t seen each other in a while, Hemera wasn’t quite sure where they stood. Was she supposed to tell him that she had left to have sex with a man who wasn’t Aether? Might be a bit of an awkward conversation piece to have with him since he was also her husband’s father. So she avoided the subject, at least for now. “And are you implying that I was saved? What a nice thought,” she said instead, her voice just as deadpan as his. “Perhaps I should ask who you think saved me.”

Eris smirked as she heard the complaint and just rolled her eyes. She was looking for someone, she’d be out of her sun in a minute. Her sun, like she owned the sun. “Baby, trust me, it doesn’t matter how much you try to tan, you are always gonna be pale as fuck.”
An offended gasp escaped her lips as she sunk down in the sand again and glared at the person standing before her. The audacity... To come into her space and tell her that she was pale. Truth was of course, that Hemera was actually ‘pale as fuck’ and usually stayed that way for most of the summer. So the other woman wasn’t exactly wrong. Still, Hemera loved laying in the sun since it reminded her of home and the good old days, back when the sun had practically belonged to her. “Uhm, rude much?” she finally replied and pushed the sunglasses down from her head to her nose. “Whatever. I’m still pretty.”
persephone-reigns.
The woman looked familiar and Persephone swore she had seen her among the gods before. “That depends on what it is that you think I just did,” the queen of the dead answered, her face unmoved by the question.
"Seems to me like you got that plant to turn into a beautiful flower,” Hemera mused, her voice breezy. Her eyes quickly returned to their usual state of slight boredom, but she continued to glance at the plant, and the woman’s hands. Hemera wasn’t quite sure who she was, but she had seen her around Amphitrite a couple of times so she guessed that this was either the infamous Hera, or Persephone. As long as they were to no particular use to her, Hemera didn’t really give a crap which of the ladies she was. Besides, they had always seemed a bit... Uptight. But the plant thing had intrigued her, so she tilted her head to the side and pursed her lips into a persuasive smile. “How did you do that?”

Sometimes, Phobos found himself relaxing at a beach, surrounded by the crash of ocean waves against the shoreline – except that this ‘beach’ was actually a bartop, and the crash of ocean waves was more like the quick burn of liquor at the base of his throat. That relaxed him, not the sunshine and the sand that rubbed against already calloused feet. However, Hades had ordered him here, to see to it that some bigwig businessman with a beach house paid up, and now he was trudging through the sand, looking like a schmuck in surfer trunks. To his dismay, it seemed as though the businessman caught wind of a visit from ‘the Finisher’, and had conveniently flown off to frolic about in Europe for a few weeks. And so, Phobos stood in his place for a short while, kicking at the sand aimlessly, almost enjoying the heat on his back – until he heard the shrill sound of a girl’s voice. Turning to her with a dead gaze, he muttered, “Your sun,” and shifted a few inches away – his hulking frame likely still covering up ‘her’ sun – and returned with a terse, “Better?”
Well, if Hemera had known that someone so attractive had been the sun-blocker, she would perhaps not have spoken so quickly. A small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth as she looked up at the man, eyes sparkling. Propping herself up on her elbows, she looked him over quickly, her gaze lingering a few seconds too long on his arms. She knew who he was, but just vaguely. Phobos. The destroyer? The finisher? Something like that. Hemera wasn’t quite sure, but she knew that he worked with her father and she had never taken much interest in her father’s work. At least not in this life. But he was attractive, and looked a little dangerous, so Hemera shot him a flirtatious smile and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “Yes, my sun,” she replied quickly, an innocent yet devilish look playing in her eyes. “And that was the smallest step I’ve seen a man of your size take, I think,” she said, her voice teasing. “But it’s fine.” Mainly because he was quite the view himself, and Hemera was superficial enough to appreciate that.

It was a terrible day to say the least. There was too much brightness everywhere, it practically blinded him to the point where he’d been forced to shade his eyes with his hands. Grumbling quietly he treaded down the sidewalk with a lethal expression until he spotted a familiar face in the distance. Hemera. He’d recognize that bright red hair anywhere. Sighing, he began treading through the thick sand until he was finally towering over her, and he grinned down at her. “I’m doing you a favor, you can thank me later.” He quipped as he narrowed his eyes.
Squinting at her father, Hemera tilted her head to the side and supported herself with a hand placed comfortably in the sand. This was her territory, and although she usually went to the beach with Amphitrite or Pheme, she was there alone today. Even Hemera needed some... Me time every now and then. But of course her father had to hunt her down and invade her space. Whatever. Quirking an eyebrow towards him, she fired him a cheeky smile and leaned back a bit further in the sand. “What, you’re saving me from skin cancer now?” she asked, her voice innocent and sweet but her eyes chilly. Hemera needed her sun, and she did not appreciate him standing in the way of that. Which was a bit petty, perhaps, but Hemera was not above being the smaller person. “Look, Daddy. I’ll talk to you if you just let me get my tan and my vitamin D.”

Aether: You know what I want, you just choose to ignore it.
Aether: Well don't we have a healthy marriage.
Hemera: Could say the same thing about you, mister. We both know that you know that I know exactly what I want.
Hemera: Says who?????
It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the waves were crashing against the shore. Perhaps it was regarded as a bit too early to go to the beach, but in Hemera’s defense... It was surprisingly warm outside for a day in late April. She was laying comfortably placed on a towel in the sand, her eyes peacefully closed and a smile playing on her lips. Hemera continued laying there until someone interrupted her bliss, and she opened an eye reluctantly to find someone standing over her. Blinking a couple times, she formed her lips into a small pout. “Hey, you’re blocking my sun!”
persephone-reigns.
Staring at her hands where she had watched a flower bloom from just by merely holding it, Persephone looked up to see a figure approach her. “Looking for something?” A blank smile was given to the other.
Hemera narrowed her eyes and shook her head gently a couple times, seemingly trying to wake herself up. Plants weren’t supposed to do that... Were they? Puzzled, she tilted her head to the side and bit her lip, not wanting to say anything in case she was seeing things. Last thing she needed was rumors going around saying that she was starting to lose it. That would do wonders for her reputation. In a very bad way. But on the other hand - if what she was seeing was in fact real... It would make wonderful gossip to pass along to Pheme. So she decided to go for it. “Did you just do that?”

They’d been sitting in their comfortable chairs for quite some time, enjoying the pleasures of luxury massages and peelings on their faces even more expensive than a three course menu at some fance restaurant. Anyway, she couldn’t care less about the money as she cared more for her fame, for the gossip around and the joys of life and Hemera. Instead she smirked at Hemeras words, clearly and audibly enjoying everything she said. Every time the two of them left to some expensice hideout at the beach or anywhere else, really, the goddess felt a special tranquility inside herself hiding behind a wall of self-absorbed, nosy and extrovert behavior which she rarely felt with someone else. Hemera remained the only person who could truly calm her down, even though she was like a tornado destroying everything in her wake once she got to tell everyone about the sad lives the gods lived. Even then, with her being a shining personality in the show business, while being a well known and loved show host, Hemera had ways of stopping her for once, of binding her to something she could on to next to her gossip.
“Oh honey let’s not talk about money right now. Like I care. You know you’re worth far far more than that. Expensive, my ass. I hope those are organic cuccumber slices, at least. Just the best for you, darling,” Pheme grinned at her best friend as she already looked at her with one eye, which was freed from the slice. “Oh, you mean Damian? Oh, you mean at the club? Oh damn, I believe his name was something like… Anton —- Anthony —- maybe? Honestly I got weak in no time. He had a freaking English accent, jeez. I would’ve taken you with me, but honestly I just wanted him for me, all alone.”
A smug smile spread across Hemera’s lips as she leaned back in the chair, her eyes shining with warmth as she watched Pheme. There was something about her friend that always made her feel so... At home. Or at least relaxed. For reasons unknown, Pheme seemed to be one of the few people in the world that Hemera did not have to put up an act around. Which was nice. Thus, a warm sense of belonging filled her chest as Pheme spoke. Pushing the cucumber slice back over her eye, she let out a soft sigh and scooted back in the chair, making herself comfortable. “As long as they’re like... Locally grown,” Hemera responded replied after a few seconds and snorted quietly. Hemera was not Aglaea, and didn’t really care where her cucumbers came from. As long as they were green and cold. But she did like the idea of only getting the most expensive things, so she nodded after a few seconds, seemingly changing her mind. “You’re right. We deserve the best.” When Pheme started talking about what she had gotten up to last night, Hemera tensed up. Just a little bit. It was not noticeable, but she could feel herself involuntarily clenching her jaw in anticipation. Shaking off the weird feeling, she gently lifted the cucumber slices off her eyes and handed them to one of the workers, before turning to Pheme. “Really... ? British?” she asked, voice breezy, light. Pretending not to give a fuck. Because she didn’t. “I thought we were here to fuck hot French guys.... Which, by the way, I totally did. After you left I had to find some way to keep myself... Busy.”

“It’s not my fault no one keeps my schedule,” she spoke gently, “I went away fro a week for a conference, I didn’t just take off.” Crossing her arms over her chest, she rolled her eyes, “It isn’t that big of a deal, Hemera.” She seemed a little to keen to gossip and Mania wasn’t sure she was in that kind of a mood, “People almost died,” Mania hummed, “That’s about it.”
Hemera looked away for a second and bit her lip before rolling her eyes. Mania did not seem to be in the mood to spill the beans, and honestly... That bummed Hemera out. Just a bit. So instead she leaned against the wall and shot Mania a bored look. “That was like... Weeks ago,” she replied, voice dry. Perhaps she would have been more invested in the event if it had been about her... But since she had escaped unharmed, it really wasn’t that interesting. “So, anyways. I know you said ‘ conference ‘”, Hemera mused, forming her fingers into air quotes while saying the word conference. “.... But what did you really do? You can tell me, I’m like a vault.”

April 18th, 2016. The day modern-day Euphrosyne sincerely wished she lived in some bizarre vivid dream. The kind of dream which didn’t leave her screaming in a public bathroom at the local coffeehouse. The kind of dream where she didn’t accidentally turn on the faucet with her left hand and watch it slowly turn yellow and then shine like gold. Actual gold.
So she did the only thing she could think of, she grabbed the doorknob to run away from her vivid dream, only to watch that too turn to gold. “Ohmygod. Ohmygod!” While it could still turn, Euphrosyne quickly gripped the knob, turning it with such force that she almost broke it, rushing out and past someone. “Excuse me, sorry–” What the hell was going on?!
Hemera leaned against the wall, her legs crossed in front of her and a hand lifted in a claw like formation as she studied her nails with a passive look on her face. She only looked up for a second as the door opened but briefly noticed something golden flash by. With her interest sparked, Hemera curiously took a step forward and glanced over her shoulder, spotting the golden door handle. Pushing the door shut with her foot, she leaned against the wall once more before folding her arms over her chest. “Hey, no harm done,” she mused, a small smile playing on her lips. “I didn’t realize that this place was investing in such... Exquisite decor. Was that what scared you?”
manicmanicmania.
Controlling her shaking during the day was easy, she could self-medicate in a completely different way. Entering the coffee shop, she shrugged off her jacket and made her way to order. Once she had received her number, she found an empty table, but recognized someone close by, “I hear I’ve missed a lot while I was away,” she commented, slipping into the table next to them.
Hemera put down her coffee cup on the table and turned towards the person addressing her. A look of surprise passed over her features and she formed her lips into a small pout as she shot her sister something of a glare. “You should warn me before taking off next time,” she replied, her voice unusually sharp. Hemera usually gave zero fucks about... Well, anything - but she did like to be kept in the loop of things. So... She was a little bit annoyed. Pausing, she scooted into the booth, allowing Mania to sit down next to her. “Mm, really? So what have you heard?”

Aether: I'm your husband you should want me around.
Hemera: I married you, didn't I? What else do you want from me?
Hemera: Besides, I do want you around. Just not all the time. Like in... Smaller amounts.
