Scams are designed to trick someone into giving up money based on lies. This is just.. asking for information then legally enforcing the law??

#i wrote a report on a SCOTUS case where the defendants argued that it was scammy of the plaintiff to do civil rights testing #bc they would sue and sometimes settle (usually just for the cost of legal fees)#key info being that suing is the only way to enforce the civil rights law in question.#they create BS enforcement mechanisms and then turn that against you when you try to use them
