I accidentally read that as "status" cloud, and I honestly think it fits better.
I'm a forty year old woman now. This, for some reason, means that I sometimes wonder who was burdened with cleaning up all the splashed water on the sets of the face wash commercials of the 90's.
I think one of the most damaging ideologies towards children is the conviction that having children isn’t a calling but a moral obligation.
Not to be a crazy radical or anything, but children deserve to be deeply wanted by their parents.
Children shouldn’t be a “stage” in life that everyone is obligated to fulfill; childrearing is not for everyone. More importantly, children shouldn’t be state-enforced punishments for “irresponsible” sexual behavior.
Children are people with thoughts and feelings just like the rest of us. They are conscious of the way people treat them. And they can certainly tell when they are unwanted and/or resented.
[ID: tumblr tags. they are: #reblog #i also dont think its enough to want a child. i think you need to want a teenager and an adult too #my mom wanted a baby. when i was too old to pronounce spaghetti wrong and let her put me in church dresses she was done with me #my dad wanted a person. he wanted a baby a child a tween a teen and an adult #my dad wanted to watch a person happen. which was different. /end ID.]
Boosting all of the above signal.
It could be better.
I hope you're having a better Friday than Jesus did. Enjoy!!
I hope he wins the lawsuit, a police officer was finally doing the right thing and they penalize him for not being a racist monster!
his name is stephen mader and not only did he refuse to shoot, he actively wanted to help the man (ronald ‘rj’ williams) because he could tell that he was only acting out because of mental illness. rj williams was suicidal and holding an unloaded gun and, while mader didn’t shoot him, a fellow officer (ryan kuzma) did and murdered him on the spot. here is the source and here’s to hoping rj williams gets justice
“Saying the words ‘Just shoot me’ sent up the red flag that he was just trying to harm himself and no one else … That’s what made me make my decision. He needed help” I hate this fucking world. The guy was actually trying to do his job by actually desculating the situation the right way (desculating these days apparently just means shoot them) and was fired for “failing to eliminate a threat.”
HE WON THE LAWSUIT AND GOT $175,000
I read this whole story. It is wild !! The conversations between him and his ex coworkers about what went down that day 😧😶
Listen to it all here:
A shocking story of police and lethal force. Just not the one you might expect.
when I say there are no good cops, this is part of the reason why.
“good cops” lose their jobs for doing the right thing.
“good cops” die mysteriously after whistleblowing.
“good cops” are forced to choose between their livelihood and becoming just like the rest.
I honestly don’t understand why there aren’t more people who, when given the platform to discuss minimum wage, don’t simply distill it to the simplest of facts:
A forty hour work week is considered full time.
It’s considered as such because it takes up the amount of time we as a society have agreed should be considered the maximum work schedule required of an employee. (this, of course, does not always bear out practically, but just follow me here)
A person working the maximum amount of time required should earn enough for that labor to be able to survive. Phrased this way, I doubt even most conservatives could effectively argue against it, and out of the mouth of someone verbally deft enough to dance around the pathos-based jabs conservative pundits like to use to avoid actually debating, it could actually get opps thinking.
Therefore, if an employee is being paid less than [number of dollars needed for the post-tax total to pay for the basic necessities in a given area divided by forty] per hour, they are being ripped off and essentially having their labor, productivity, and profit generation value stolen by their employer.
Wages are a business expense, and if a company cannot afford to pay for its labor, it is by definition a failing business. A company stealing labor to stay afloat (without even touching those that do so simply to increase profit margins and/or management/executive pay/bonuses) is no more ethical than a failing construction company breaking into a lumber yard and stealing wood.
Our goal as a society should be to protect each other, especially those that most need protection, not to subsidize failing businesses whose owners could quite well subsidize them on their own.

consistently life is like
someone, usually a man: this woman you havent met yet is awful. shes a bitch shes a psycho. shell bust your balls. she busted my balls for four hours once, for the sheer hell of it. shell bust yours for forty more. my tone and expression probably insinuate i want to call her a cunt but am restraining myself because you might not react well. i might just call her one anyway. the point is, let me condemn her in the strongest words possible
me: 👀 noted [doubt.jpeg]
woman: [eventually makes an appearance]
woman: [is a completely normal and likeable woman who simply fails to pat asses to the full extent demanded of women]
woman: [is perfectly cordial and kind but does not suffer fools]
woman: [doesnt pick up for your slack, holds you accountable for your performance, doesnt apologize for holding a boundary or exerting her authority]
When a man refers to a woman he works with as a bitch, I just assume that she is better at his job than he is. I haven't been proven wrong yet.
For those that dont do large numbers that says 6 TRILLION DOLLARS
This means that these things could be done, today, right now, except for those same billionaires who would rather hoard the world's resources and force people to die of need. Every billionaire is a traitor to humankind.
Poor people are thrown in jail for stealing less than $1,000 from but rich people steal hundreds of thousands from your investments and retirement and it's perfectly legal and okay.
They didn't do nothing.
They knocked on his door, he didn't answer so they determined she needed psychiatric evaluation and had her forcibly committed.
I hate the police so much.
Let me be 100% clear: I'm not pro-murdering babies.
I'm pro-Becky who found out at her 20 week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life sustaining organs.
I'm pro-Susan who was sexually assaulted on her way home from work, only to come to the horrific realization that her assailant planted his seed in her when she got a positive pregnancy test result a month later.
I'm pro-Theresa who hemorrhaged due to a placental abruption, causing her parents, spouse, and children to have to make the impossible decision on whether to save her or her unborn child.
I'm pro-little Cathy who had her innocence ripped away from her by someone she should have been able to trust and her 11 year old body isn't mature enough to bear the consequence of that betrayal.
I'm pro-Melissa who's working two jobs just to make ends meet and has to choose between bringing another child into poverty or feeding the children she already has because her spouse walked out on her.
I'm pro-Brittany who realizes that she is in no way financially, emotionally, or physically able to raise a child.
I'm pro-Emily who went through IVF, ending up with SIX viable implanted eggs requiring selective reduction in order to ensure the safety of her and a SAFE amount of fetuses.
I'm pro-Jessica who is FINALLY getting the strength to get away from her physically abusive spouse only to find out that she is carrying the monster's child.
I'm pro-Vanessa who went into her confirmation appointment after YEARS of trying to conceive only to hear silence where there should be a heartbeat.
I'm pro-Lindsay who lost her virginity in her sophomore year with a broken condom and now has to choose whether to be a teenage mom or just a teenager.
I'm pro-Courtney who just found out she's already 13 weeks along, but the egg never made it out of her fallopian tube so either she terminates the pregnancy or risks dying from internal bleeding.
You can argue and say that I'm pro-choice all you want, but the truth is:
I'm pro-life. Their lives. Women's lives.
You don't get to pick and choose which scenarios should be accepted.
It's not about which stories you don't agree with. It's about fighting for the women in the stories that you do agree with and the CHOICE that was made.
Women's rights are meant to protect ALL women, regardless of their situation!
Yes!
And I'm also pro James whose body dysphoria would be way too much to handle if he continued pregnancy.
I'm pro Taylor who would be in an extremely unhealthy state because they would have to stop their medications to safely continue pregnancy.
I'm pro Sam who has tolkophobia and would potentially end their own life because they were that afraid.
I'm pro Alex who simply just doesn't want to be pregnant.
I'm pro the lives of all these people and trusting them to know what's best for them.
If your religion, ideology or movement comes off looking shit, maybe it’s time to consider the possibility that it is shit.
