sharing this traumatized yet very very very brave philippine eagle from ph twt because ive been thinking about her since YESTERDAY
translation: PHILIPPINE EAGLE ATTACKED BY OVER 30 MONKEYS
A Philippine Eagle was rescued after being attacked by more than 30 monkeys in Bukidnon.
According to the indigenous Lumad who rescued the eagle, he was simply picking fruit when he heard a loud commotion from the trees, which is where he saw the eagle being attacked. The eagle is now under the care of the DENR for medical attention and rehabilitation.
translator's note from me: this got attention because the Philippine Eagle is also known as the Monkey-Eating Eagle.
and so the reactions are kinda hilarious. it started with people cyberbullying the poor bird, calling her an embarrassment
but then people came to her defense because 1v30 is not a fair fight
translation: That's how I'd look like too if my food suddenly attacked me
let's all pray for this diva and her hopefully smooth recovery!!
and if you want to support Philippine Eagle conservation (as they are a critically endangered species), consider supporting the Philippine Eagle Foundation with a donation or buy some of their cool merch where proceeds go to animals in their care.
