I also agree L would fit well in a rosemary's baby and stepford au and maybe I'm biased because rosemary's baby is one of my fav horror books (I haven't watched the movie) and I really like the stepford wives (haven't finished the book yet) and I love putting my fav characters in my fav media. but also i do think L really works as the troubled protagonist of a horror narrative. that one scene in ep 25 where hes like. avoiding looking over his shoulder at Light behind him but u can tell L can FEEL Light staring at him and he looks scared out of his mind. triple platinum moment for me. i need to print it out and frame it and put it on my wall but as a gif. so i can see it all. that is sooo horror final girl going through the worst time of her life everything is about to go wrong and the killer is about to GET her. "errrmmm... hes RIGHT behind me isnt he" type shit. also the way the entire show is just . Light keeps attacking him and L keeps dodging death through ridiculous means. im obsessed with it. he would make such a good final girl except for the fact he dies </3 ALSO something about his resilience and his determination is very very fun to mess around with. see what it takes to break it. AND the fact he KNOWS Light is the killer but nobody is fucking listening to him and it just goes on like that until you get to yotsuba arc and hes finally questioning himself and giving up. God there are so many good reasons to put the emo detective in a Situation

The way Light gives L a slight mocking/teasing look before this because he knows L cant shoot him and he basks in that fact. The way he slowly guides the gun towards L and L keeps eye contact with him the entire time until Light forces him to face the crowd. The way Light holds onto his arm the entire time up until L shoots himself, the way he revels in his victory.....yeah hands down the sexiest scene.
