Doctor Who - World Enough and Time {Watched 6/25/17}
So, I haven’t really posted anything in quite a while about Doctor Who. I posted when I was getting caught up on the show years ago, but somewhere along the way, I got sidetracked and stopped updating. Btw, I got all caught up and was able to watch season 9 live with my brother, so that was cool. He’s actually the one who first introduced me to the show. The first scene I saw was actually 10′s “regeneration” scene with Wilf and I had absolutely no clue what was going on, lol
But anyway, I am so excited for this episode, I’m not sure I’ve ever been so excited for an episode, although Husbands of River Song comes close because, well, RIVER!!
*Note: I apparently somehow wrote up two separate reaction threads at the same time so I did my best to piece them together. Here you go...
*SPOILERS* if you haven't seen the episode yet.
First scene: My little fangirl heart begins to crack because I’m so not ready to say goodbye to Twelve, and all these little teases for regenerations are very cruel.
Also, WHAT JUST HAPPENED??? I can already tell this is after the events of the episode, and they’re going to go back and fill in the blanks, so this is really cruel to show something hit the fan and he’s either angry, or heartbroken, or both. But he seems more heartbroken than angry. Or sad. He could be sad. But for now, with the little context given on this episode, I’m going with heartbroken.
I’m ranting, I know. I have a lot of fangirling to get caught up on since it’s been a while since I’ve really talked about Doctor Who on here.
Rocket Windows?? Hmm...I recognize the last window as from Smile, but I don't recognize the others as much...windows into the other worlds from previous episodes, or just a fluke? Nah, it's Doctor Who...no such thing as a fluke.
Ok, I know we're supposed to not like Missy, so I'm sorry, but I kind of love her. She's hilarious and the sort of spooky where you can't help but watch as everything goes to pieces. Also, she's right. The alarm does have a nice beat to it.
Ahh! He's got some jelly babies!! I think. I really have no idea what they actually look like, or what sort of packaging they come in, but I feel like it's a decent guess anyway.
Haha, and he's got one of the scanners on extension cord. Nice. Though, you would think he would just use the Tardis' wi-fi and have it be all wireless. Then again, could be a Time Lord/Tardis thing.
Never mind, those were chips/crisps.
"Congratulations on your relative symmetry" hahaha
Huh...streamlining. Makes sense. But yeah. He's the Doctor, not Doctor Who. Also, why does Missy dabbing actually work??
Interesting catch on the screen angles. Point 1 for Missy. Oh dear. I just had a thought...what if when the Master shows up, he, or Missy, perhaps both, does something to the Doctor to trigger the regeneration energy?? Ugh! I'm starting to dread next week's episode already, and I was actually really excited for the Master-Missy team up (don't judge me).
DUDE. Did they just...??? (Wait, I'm remembering clips from the preview...no they didn't.)
Aww, Twelve having an emotion, and Nardole wants a selfie. I just love Nardole, hahaha.
Awww, the Doctor reminiscing about the early days with a young Master. So sweet!! The feels!!
Augh!!! The feels of Twelve talking about young him and young Master. Whyyy??? 😭😭😭 I kind of want to see some actual scenes of them as kids in the Academy though. Like, I'm just really curious about the early friendship between the Doctor and Master.
Really, the Doctor is such an idiot sometimes...not recognizing the Mondasian Cyberman voice pattern...for shame, Doctor.
NOOOO!!! Oh, frick. I just realized what's about to happen, I think. NONONONONONONONONO!!! 😭😭😭
Oh, I do love the banter between the Doctor and Missy. And her little insults (Smurf 😂).
Wait, does Twelve have a freaking red marker in the middle of his sonic screwdriver? 😂
Not sure if the Master in disguise, or if not the Master at all... 🤔 He really sounds like John Simm to me, but he doesn't clearly look like him...and I don't think the Master would help Bill hide from the nurse...hmmm...
That's definitely his voice!
Also, how much fun did John Simm have playing Mr. Razor?? I can't wait to see the behind the scenes video!
Ahh, the Master music from season 3...definitely him.
Ok, that has to be John Simm. Clever Moffitiss to hide him so well. Oh, wow is Bill going to lose it when she realizes she willingly hugged the Master...*rubs hands together* this is going to be good.
It's really spooky to think the Master said Bill was so dear to him...she is so going to flip out.
And right at 10 minutes left, so the good drama and revealing is about to happen. 😱😄
Oh dang. I was wondering if it was a ruse to convert Bill.
AHHH here we go!! Missy and Master meeting!! 😄😄😂 This is going to be so good and so terrifying at the same time! 🤗🤗
"Hello, ordinary person."
So...it remains to be seen if Missy turned that easily, or if it's a ruse to beat the Master. Could go either way. I choose to believe that Missy has really changed and will help the Doctor beat the Master. Seems like something Moffat would do, anyway.
I wonder if any other companions have ever been converted into a Cyberman...besides poor Danny, and Mrs. Moore (more of a one-off companion, but you know) way back in season 2.
