I love how the episode is called “Chidi Sees the Time Knife” but it has no bearing whatsoever on the plot

hot take pride and prejudice isn’t a story about two people who hate each other getting married despite their hate. pride and prejudice is a story about a rich, privileged guy getting called on his privilege and toxic masculinity by the woman he admires and then actually listening to her, taking steps to correct his own toxic masculine behavior, and using his wealth and privilege to rectify the “missing stair” problem he caused by allowing a predator to operate unchecked in his community. he specifically takes action, pays money, and does work without asking for credit or using it to point-score, because he realizes that his job as a privileged person is to protect vulnerable people, especially women. and THAT is what changes his crush’s mind about him, because he does the work and becomes a person she can respect, love, and be proud of. thanks for coming to my TED talk
I have never heard the plot and message of P&P articulated so accurately. We wonder why Austen is still so relevant today and Pride and Prejudice has always enjoyed such consistent appeal, this is it, this is why!
IM LAUGJING SO HARD the picture looks so sleek and professional with the lighting but ITS A SPOOKY DOGE
dogs with jobs
WHAT. GOOD. DOGS.
Dogs seriously rule.
when we try to befriend cats we mimic their meows and get down on the ground to their level and try to gently coax them to interact with us right
that horrifying entity mimicking human noises at us maybe just thinks we’re cool and wants to pet us?
had to draw it
a few people pointed out that they probably wouldn’t understand what they were saying and just mimicking whatever sounds they happen to hear so I wanted to add this

High King and Queen of Elfhame
"To you, I offer honey wine and the hospitality of my table. But to traitors and oathbreakers, I offer my queen's hospitality instead. The hospitality of knives."
Ps: First of many in the Jurdan saga because I am completely obsessed and surrendered by this couple.
The New Spider-Man Title is… Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) Bonus:
One of the best tips for writing descriptions of pain is actually a snippet I remember from a story where a character is given a host of colored pencils and asked to draw an egg.
The character says that there’s no white pencil. But you don’t need a white pencil to draw a white egg. We already know the egg is white. What we need to draw is the luminance of the yellow lamp and the reflection of the blue cloth and the shadows and the shading.
We know a broken bone hurts. We know a knife wound hurts. We know grief hurts. Show us what else it does.
You don’t need to describe the character in pain. You need to describe how the pain affects the character - how they’re unable to move, how they’re sweating, how they’re cold, how their muscles ache and their fingers tremble and their eyes prickle.
Draw around the egg. Write around the pain. And we will all be able to see the finished product.
so hey fun fact for anyone who wants queer history trivia: the first disco in Seattle was opened in 1973 and was a gay bar called “shelly’s leg” and it was named after a dancer named shelly who lost her leg in a confetti cannon accident and used the insurance/lawsuit settlement money to open a gay disco.
a) This is such a fantastic story that I wouldn’t care if it were made up, except that
b) upon further research, it does appear to be true.
I truly am obsessed with how Knives Out was like. Hello Daniel Craig, man who has spent the past two decades of his career being alternately beaten up and objectified playing an action hero with no personality. Would you like to please put on a shirt and an incomprehensible vaguely Texan accent and flex your character acting dark comedy muscles as well as your pecs for a while. And he's like BOY WOULD I and they made a work of art. Also love that they put Chris Evans in sweaters. Get your beefcakes then dress them nice make them soft and give them some bonkers character work to do it's what cinema needs more of
I’m gonna flex on other English majors by referring to Lady Macbeth as “Macbeth” and to Macbeth as “Mr. Macbeth”
Girlboss Macbeth and her guy friend
One thing I’m going to make a habit of if I ever have kids is asking “do you want the fast answer or the full answer? »
Because as a child one of the most frustrating things was asking a question and
1) the adult brushed me off with the quickest answer possible because they either didn’t think I would understand the complete answer or because they were busy
Or
2) the adult immediately began to explain in-depth to me, or using a book or computer to show me something that I didn’t care about that much and just wanted a brief answer to
Sometimes kids will ask “what are clouds made of?” And you can say “water” and they will be like “okay.”
And other times they will be like “but why don’t they look like water? How do they get up there? Why do they float?” Etc. Etc.
Yeah! This also applies to adults, tbh. Sometimes I don't want a big explanation, just answer the question!
I’ve definitely done this at work lol.
I have a simultaneously amazing and appalling memory which means that I’ll remember that months ago you quickly mentioned you collect bookmarks once and then you never brought it up again so for your birthday I’ll buy you a mermaid related bookmark because you brought up you like mermaids once but you won’t end up getting it on your birthday because I forgot when it is
according to several therapists and my family history, i believe this is known as “adhd”
hey if you’re in the U.S. and use food stamps or know somebody who does i found this online cookbook that has recipes for eating well on approximately $4/day :o)
I don’t have food stamps but I need to know how to eat well for $4/day. Thank you for this.
HOLY SHIT
This cookbook is really amazing. I’ve used a couple of the recipes and they are so easy to follow. And in the beginning there are a bunch of really great tips for saving on food stuff.
Here is a working link for the cookbook.
