Max doesn't typically frequent parties like this, parties with neon lights and red solo cups and blasting rap music. At least the music isn't bad, it's some popular shit from the 2000's, 50 Cent, Nate Dogg, Eminem, some stuff he actually knows and sort of likes. But, I mean, here he is, with his own red solo cup filled with Kool Aid, contact high from a hotboxed living room, alone.
Tommy left him a minute ago to track down Freddie, Molly went to get another drink and just didn't come back, having made a new friend. So, he's alone for right now. He'll survive. This is a giant ass house, a mansion, really, a full fledged family estate, so if he needed to be alone, he could find some space.
Through the giant windows beside the kitchen and the glass back door, he spots a group of teens, hopefully his age, running around the pool in swimwear. Red cups line the pool on the ladder side, colorful pool floaties drift with the flow of the water as people jump in and out and wade around. Towels rest over fancy white lounge chairs, dry casual / party clothes rest bunched up on top of them, shoes and socks too.
Oh, there's Tommy and Freddie.
Where the hell did they get towels and trunks?
Either way, the party outside looks way more fun than the one inside.
They have a cooler filled with soda, pretty disco balls and fun colored lights, a small waterfall, a whole ass pool, and fun. In here isn't really fun. He's just watching people roll and smoke joints, drink their asses off, and jump in place to songs they don't know. Name one 50 Cent song-
It's not that deep.
He eyes the kitchen counter, bowls of punch and juice and bottles lining it, full throttle. He decides to set the cup down and make his way outside. He steps onto the medium grey brick surrounding pool floor with his sneakers, making sure to close the fancy glass door behind him, muffling the sounds of some incoherent 2000's club song.
He makes immediate eye contact with Tommy and Freddie, both climbing out of the pool to grab their sodas. They greet him with smiles and waves.
"Where'd you guys get trunks and towels?" Max questions, confused beyond belief.
"Stole some from upstairs," Tommy shrugs, "There's a closet in the bathroom with a paper on it, said take whatever you need."
Max scoffs with a smile, "Seriously?"
The pair by the poolside nod.
"Okay, fine, I'll be back."
Just as Max moves to leave, he hears a group bickering on the side, fighting over a phone and speaker, presumably about music. He doesn't dwell, if anything, he speeds himself up. He practically sprints up the stairs to the upstairs bathroom in search of swim trunks and a towel.
Thankfully, they're not hard to find.
Max returns to the pool as the sun sets over the horizon, hues of pink, orange, and purple now deep blues and greys. He finds an empty lounge chair and sets his towel and clothes down, minus his shirt, which he's still wearing, and his shoes and socks. He's not walking through a party like that without a shirt and barefoot.
Music blasts from the outdoor speakers, We Found Love, a classic.
"C'mon, get in!" Freddie shouts from the pool.
Max rushes to strip his shirt and shoes off, starting with his shoes that he toes off and tears his socks off to stuff them into his shoes. Finally, he pulls his shirt off with ease, leaving him in shark patterned swim trunks. Before he can jump into the pool and splash Freddie and Tommy, someone beats him to it.
Their head emerges within a few seconds, and in a few more, they're back outside the pool again, bickering with the pair of boys. They wear a s/w, whether they brought it themselves or stole it from upstairs, he's unaware, but they look good in it. Like, really good.
The color, the style, the patterns, god, they're hot.
And then he realizes it's you once your head emerges from the water again.
Oh fuck.
You run a hand over your head, slicking any loose hairs down to your scalp. Water ripples fade as they fall away from you. Droplets glisten on your skin like glitter. Under the colorful lights, you look like a fucking angel sent from the heavens.
He did not know you'd be here tonight.
He's had a little bit of a crush on you for a while, but holy hell, this is a different level of attraction. He didn't know you looked so beautiful outside of public situations like streaming and adventures in town. Wow.
He feels his knees grow weak, his face grow pink, his mouth dry up.
You turn around, sensing his presence. You smile and wave, happy to see it's him.
"Max, hi!"
Max stumbles over his words, unable to speak to you, "Uh, hey!"
"Get in! It's nice." you smile.
He nods, trying to hide how flustered he is as he moves to dip in from the ledge. Tommy and Freddie share looks over your shoulder. He glares at them, but when you move to look at them behind you, they've dunked themselves under the water.
With a raised eyebrow, you turn back to Max, who subsequently dunks himself under the water when you look at him, too. You aren't dumb, you know exactly what's happening, but you'll entertain being oblivious for Max's sake.
you never knew each other beforehand, apparently carlos and evie used to hang out with you a bit, but she never knew you existed
you helped her through the streets given shes target number one, get her to dizzys, then their old hideout
she rambles to you about royal life and ben and not being able to take it anymore

you just let her talk as much as she needs to and help her with her graffiti work until ben and evie show up
you hide in the ceiling vents while she talks to them & just kinda listen to get more context / listen in on the drama
in the end she promises she'll choose one of two things, she'll stay on the isle and live with you, or she'll find a way to bring you to auradon
knowing you used to be very close w carlos and evie makes her confident youre not a god awful person & you dont seem to be in kahoots w uma and her crew so she's chill with you

You hold a hand over your nose, eyes stuck on the ceiling. You frantically rush across the room, blindly reaching for the tissue box under the chalkboard. You grab two, one to replace your hand, the other to actually ball and clump up to catch the blood pouring from your nose.
Out of the corners of your eyes, you can see some of your classmates, even your teacher, staring at you. You wouldn't be able to help yourself if you were in their shoes either, this is the fourth time this week, and it's only Wednesday. After a moment and four wasted, bloodsoaked tissues, you make your way back to your desk.
Sid nervously glances at you as you sit, fidgeting with his pencil. He fears you'll scold him after class, tell him this is why you don't like taking your meds.
You're not yourself without it, nobody else would rather see you finish it, but you're fucking over it. It always makes you sick. The nosebleeds, the stomach sickness, lack of appetite, how it slowly shoves you into some depressive hole that's so hard to escape. But then, if you don't take it, you're stuck alone with all the things that want to drive you into insanity. The inability to focus, procrastination, hyperactivity, impulsive thoughts and actions.
You're stuck between a rock and a hard place.
After class, Sid waits for you at the door, wishing to walk you to your next class like he usually does. You move to him, making sure you grab a pump of hand sanitizer before heading out to clean off your bloodstained fingertips. He's sort of quiet today, more than usual.
"You okay?" you ask with an agitated tone. It catches him off gaurd.
He raises an eyebrow in confusion. "Yeah? What's with you?"
You don't answer. You get agitated when you actually take your meds. In your (and Chris', and Tony's, and Michelle's) opinions, it takes away all your fun. They encourage you to stay off your meds, seriously. Well, Chris is half and half. He wants you to be healthy, but he also fears you'll get a pill problem like he does. He's like your brother in a way, a brother who worries for his sibling.
"What's wrong?" Sid presses.
You shrug and mutter, "Nothing."
"Clearly somethin', Y/n,"
"Hate my meds." you answer, "Makes me all ill, but if I don't take it, I turn into some hyperactive monster." you grumble, "Not myself."
He frowns and looks away, unaware of what to say to try and make it better. "I'm sorry."
"I don't want sympathy," you sigh, shaking your head, "You don't even really know what I'm like when I'm not on my meds. How it is when I can't mask."
"Mask?" he presses, confused by the word choice.
"Like, trying to act normal when you can't," you explain with an edged tone, "Like, when your dad died, you just had to act normal, but inside you needed to scream and cry and get it all out."
He feels a pang in his heart when you so casually mention his dad... and him dying. It hurts, but he assumes that's a good way to put it if you were using it as an example. You don't judt bring up people's trauma in everyday conversation. You're trying to actually help him understand. And it works, surprisingly.
He nods along.
"Get it?"
He nods again.
Maxxie approaches from behind, swooping you both into his arms. "Hey! You guys comin' to the club this weekend?"
You share a look with Sid, asking him if you are like you can't make a choice for yourself. Sid typically isn't a party person, but he's also grieving and in mental pain, so he nods instead of the typical shake.
"Awesome!" the blonde smiles, turning to you, "Down for rainbow shots?"
You nod with a little smile, trying not to be an asshole to Maxxie. He nods before wandering off, having spotted Anwar in a crowd of kids headed towards where you'd just come from.
"Shots?" Sid questions, "Aren't you supposed to not drink when you're on and off meds like that? You don't even drink?" his voice slightly raises in confusion and surprise.
You shrug, "You don't even party."
By the time Saturday had rolled around, you stopped taking your meds again, leaving you totally incapable of focusing or making well thought out decisions for four days. You were slightly pissed at Sid for thinking meds will just fix you and you'll have no problem going on and off medicine you need switched. Ritalin is too much for you, but your insurance won't cover Adderall for whatever reason.
You were at the bar with Maxxie and Chris when Sid showed up in a panic. You'd been at his house earlier in the afternoon and left a previously filled pill bottle at his place. It had eight or so pills in it when he saw it in the mesh drink holder on the side of your backpack, and when he found it discarded in his bathroom can, it was empty. The prescription read one dose a day.
You took eight doses.
He feared you were already overdosing in a dark corner where no one would see you, where no one would care to pay attention to you. He clutched that bottle and ran four miles in the rain to get there as fast as he could. He was soaking wet, dripping droplets of water on the dance floor as he frantically searched for you.
He spotted you from the stairs, where he had a bit of high ground. You always stick out like a sore thumb to him. It's hard to not see you when he's so obsessed with you. He's not obsessed, per say, but he doesn't see you as just some friend of his. You're different. The world stops when you look at him.
That's why he sprinted four miles in the rain, in fear you wouldn't make it out of this club. He genuinley cared. He didn't want to see you geeked out of your mind, but if it meant you wouldn't die, then he'd be plenty fine.
He rushes to you, shoving through a swarm of people on a light up floor under a disco ball and flashing colorful lights. He sees you taking shots with Maxxie while Chris watched from between you, seemingly commentating. You were racing shots after taking a very high dosage of prescription pills, awesome.
He practically falls into you, grabbing you by the shoulders. You drop a glass in fear, not registering it's just Sid for a solid moment. Your heart nearly stopped before you understood it was just Sid, probably excited to see you, maybe needing to tell you something juicy about Tony and Michelle.
"What did you do?!" he screams over the thumping music, "Why?!"
"What?" you question, trying to sweep broken glass with your sneakers, "Sid, what are you on about?"
He grabs your hand and pulls you away from a very confused pair of Maxxie and Chris, and an angry bartender. He drags you somewhere quieter, aka the graffiti'd bathroom, and holds up the empty pill bottle.
"Are you trying to overdose?"
"Huh?" you question, completely confused.
"The pills, fuck!" he shouts, "There were like, eight in here earlier, and now they're all gone!"
Oh. Pfft.
"Those were just Tic-Tacs, Sid." you sigh, a nervous, yet grateful smile on your face.
"Fuck you mean, Tic-Tacs?!"
"They were just candy in an old bottle, Sid," you laugh, "Just trying to trick people into thinking I took my meds."
He's silent for a moment, "Why not just take your meds?"
You shrug while chewing on the inside of your cheek, "Makes me sick. You want me to take 'em. Maxxie wants me to take 'em, and Jal, and Anwar, and Chris, even Cass."
He frowns, "You scared the fuck outta me, Y/n/n, Jesus."
"Sorry," you frown, biting your lip nervously, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to."
He shakes his head, "No, no, it's fine," he sighs, pulling you into a hug, "Just... glad you're fine."
You nod, resting your head on his shoulder as you sit on the ledge of the sinks. "Sorry, Sid."
"No sorry," he whispers, clutching the orange bottle in his hand so tight it may crack and break, "Just don't do that again."
You nod again, "My insurance won't let me switch to Adderall, it'll probably be better for me."
"We'll figure it out, 'kay?" he exhales, "I'll help you."

It's quiet nights like these where you find yourself so... at peace. Your racing anxiety fueled mind seems to just up and stop. No matter how hard you try, you can't panic. You can barely even feel. All you do feel is pure love radiating from your lover.
You rest your head on his lap while he holds a bong to the side, not wanting to hold it straight over your relaxed face. It's such a rare occurrence to see, and he doesn't want to fuck up by accidentally hitting you in the face with a five pound glass bong. Somehow, he knows he'll find a way. He's a little clumsy when he's this high.
He's just so beautiful, and kind, and amazing, and so fucking sweet. You just can't get enough of him, especially since he always leaves you for so long. In a way, you feel like he hates you. He never answers your calls or texts, always leaving you on delivered. You don't care if it's seven in the evening here and three in the morning there, he should answer. Just jokes, just jokes.
But in all seriousness, Han is the best thing to ever happen to you.
He gestures between his mouth and you, using his pointer finger. He's asking if you want him to blow the hit in your face. With a lopsided smile, you nod.
The bowl smells different now. A little more citrusy, sweet, even. It's good. You're too tired to hit it yourself, so this brief taste of oranges will keep you entertained, at least for now. Well, the whole living room is hotboxed, so you'll wind up getting another whiff of it somehow.
"You seem really relaxed," he giggles, staring down at your dialated pupils and still face.
You nod, pupils returning to their normal size as you refocus on his pretty face. "Very."
He half-snorts. "You miss blazing up with me?"
You nod again. "Yes," you giggle all stupidly, "Never leave me again. Hate smoking by myself." you frown with a smile peeking through the corners of your lips.
"Yes sir/ma'am," he salutes, "Never leaving this house again."
You roll your eyes playfully. "You're so pretty."
"No, I'm not," he replies, setting the bong down on the floor, temporarily squishing your face with his chest. "You're gorgeous."
"Nuh uh," you shake your head.
You rest in silence for a moment.
It's so peaceful, tranquill. You can hear crickets chirping outside, and through the sheer curtains over the opened windows, you can see fireflies glowing in the night. A soft breeze trails in, cooling the hot room down a bit. The smell of the sweet outside trails in, and brings the stench of reefer out with it.
You had the windows open before, considering the nice weather, but with a lack of a breeze, none of that cool air had been coming in. Thankfully, as you were breaking a sweat, the wind had come along.
Something about the smell of the cold, night air makes your stomach rumble.
"I'm hungry," you sigh, breaking the silence.
"What for?" he asks, gently moving your head off of his lap onto the couch cushion. He stands up and moves towards the kitchen, waiting for a response. "Snack or meal?"

they sort of understand the sensory overload even if they dont get it the same way you do
the whole reason why they hated their new body was because all of the parts and the gender dysphoria / dysmorphia
but it also caused a lot of sensory overloading and sensory issues, like they just couldnt stop feeling so icky in their own body for the longest time
they keep a close eye on you when youre stimming to make sure you wont hurt yourself, like if youre twisting your hair too hard, flapping your hands too close to other objects / people / yourself, if youre jumping around in a cluttered area etc
they just watch and listen a lot, and pick up on small things just from that
like they pick up on the way you stare at people a lot to understand them, how blunt you are when you speak, how sometimes it takes you a minute to actually process and understand how you feel
when you first arrived, zooble was of course themselves, very sarcastic and also a mix of blunt and angryish
it didnt take long for them to realize you didn't understand their sarcasm and sort of took it to heart and it literally made them facepalm
so they learned the best solution was to clarify when they're being sarcastic for your sake, like irl tone tags lmao
they dont mind making adjustments to accommodate you, theyre just happy that youre allowed to get a little more comfortable yk

shes very patient with you, esp when it comes to sensory overloads
she'll often bring you to the gun fight losers room since its quiet, dark, and the only thing in there is the water tube and a bench

they prefer to monitor you while you sleep, just so he knows when you’re experiencing sleep paralysis
hell do anything he can to help, whisper into your ear, rub your back, be there for you when you wake up
theyre a night owl so its not a big deal if hes up all night for you
if he sees you watching his stream around medication time, he makes a special announcement for you to remind you about taking said meds and getting some rest
especially if they know youve been out and about and need that rest like a mf
