Copyright class actions could financially ruin AI industry, trade groups say.
Further, some authors may never even find out the lawsuit is happening. The court's suggested notification scheme "would require class claimants to themselves notify other potential rightsholders," groups said, overlooking the fact that it cost Google $34.5 million "to set up a 'Books Rights Registry' to identify owners for payouts under the proposed settlement" in one of the largest cases involving book authors prior to the AI avalanche of lawsuits.
If you're an author, please use this database to see if you could qualify for that sweet GenAI lawsuit money.
Millions of books and scientific papers are captured in the collection’s current iteration.
I have never ever ever in my life asked someone to blaze my posts.
But if you want to throw me some pennies blaze this. I want ALL OF THE AUTHORS to know that they have the opportunities to get some sweet sweet GenAI lawsuit money.
Like to charge. Reblog to cast that Anthropic will have to pay out the ass.
Following the anagram naming convention, toby fox should make a third game called “unrelated” that has nothing to do with undertale or deltarune and contains zero lore or references to them. It’s just a baseball simulator or something.
it sucks being an American because people from other countries will make fun of you for liking burger and you will try to be like NO! I EAT OTHER FOOD TOO! but you can't get the words out because you're too busy salivating over the idea of burger
[ID: How can dog breeders sell puppies for over $1,000? Do these puppies shit gold? Do these puppies fight crime? Can they play the banjo? No they’re fucking infant dogs that poop on your things and love you omg. /end ID]
link to a reblog of the original post, this reblog is from 2013
EDIT: OP blocked me for calling them out in this reblog, I can’t reblog or reply to this anymore and my reblog won’t show up in the notes, but if you reblog this from me then your reblog will show up in the notes. I thought maybe they were just trying to be funny and didn’t care if people knew they were lying but they’re like.. legitimately trying to convince people it’s true lol. Sketchy tumblr behavior, especially since they’re promoting their Kofi on their page meaning they are trying to get actual money for lying
being an extremely light sleeper who doesn't go to bed until 3-4 am so no matter where i live my roommates & friends say stuff like, "wake us up if the tornado sirens go off, "wake us up if the tsunami sirens go off," "wake us up if that bear comes back by camp,"
when people say these things i can't help but feel i'm satisfying my evolutionary purpose as night guard. it's just easier now than it would've been for me 10,000 years ago bc i have a flashlight and a weather app.
I think a lot of the discrepancy in the fairy/walrus poll comes from instinctive gut reaction to a tiny dainty fluttering thing vs. a giant hulking fang-topped mountain of flesh, so it may be worthwhile to compare examples of similar impression and potential for bodily harm.
You hear a knock on your door. Which would you be more surprised to see?
Every single Knight of the Round Table, swords drawn, war trumpets blaring
Every single United States Navy SEAL fully armed, helicopter buzzing overhead
Okay see for me it's still the real thing that's most surprising. Why are there Navy SEALs at my door? All of them? Every one? At my door??? A helicopter? Even if they did want to fight me for some reason, all of them? Just for me? That seems excessive and weird.
Meanwhile if I see the Knights of the Round Table it's just like, "Ah, I see, this is a shitty re-imagining of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Or maybe one of those bizarre ff.net classics I used to be obsessed with where a bunch of fictional characters show up at the author's house. This is basically on par for that."
It's still easier for me to overcome the one big hurdle of "this isn't real" than the many little hurdles of "this isn't how any of this works."
Okay yeah that's fair, I originally said knight because my brain slid over the 'every single navy SEAL' part, but 25 hundred kitted out modern soldiers would actually be more surprising than 25 renfaire cosplayers.
Tired of stories where the author worldbuilds a whole religion only to chicken out at the last moment by making the main character a skeptic. You mean to tell me that there’s all this richness in lore and culture, but you’ve trapped me with the one person in this society who doesn’t care about it? So bland. I could meet an agnostic easily enough by walking down the street, but your story is my one chance to hear the perspective of someone who follows whatever religion you’ve contrived. You made this whole world; convince me that your character really is from there.
i hate it when i cant even write a poem about something because its too obvious. like in the airbnb i was at i guess it used to be a kids room cause you could see the imprint of one little glow in the dark star that had been missed and painted over in landlord white. like that's a poem already what's the point
