I am curious: you are definitely against the idea of non-binary being a thing, but do you have any sources proving that?
Um.
But anyway, in answer to your question, I don’t have any sources and that’s the problem with nonbinary genders. There is literally no scientific evidence that they exist ergo it is illogical and anti-science to treat them as if they’re a proven thing and they in fact go against what we do know about neurological sex.
Plus, I used to believe in nonbinary genders and people would ask me about them because they knew I was trans. Wanting to answer them better, I went about trying to get more information, asking around for sources and such. What I got were insults, being called transphobic, getting blocked, and at best a shitty opinion piece or two being treated as actual scientific evidence. And remember, this was when I believed in nonbinary genders and nicely explained that I wanted more information to help people understand more. When people react like that to such an inquiry, it begins making it pretty damn obvious they’ve got no ground to stand on which caused me to start doubting. It also made it so I’d have to go Googling around and yet literal years after the fact, I still haven’t found a single scrap of evidence supporting the existence of nonbinary genders, neither from my own searches or from people claiming they have sources. In fact, about a week or two ago someone said they’d give me sources after claiming science agrees with them and then went entirely silent.
So yeah, until there’s evidence out there supporting the existence of nonbinary genders, I’m going to be against them. That’s just the logical and pro-science thing to do as far as I’m concerned.
Thank you for the answer and your patience. Also, sorry that it sent so many times, I have no idea why the frick that happened.
