@measuringinlove
obsessed with this interaction where someone has apparently been living with the sincere belief that misha collins threw the shoe at bush
im always saying this
Friendly reminder this Moon Landing Day that this website exists, where you can drop yourself at any point in the mission where the crew are awake and they'll probably be bantering with Houston.
A real-time interactive journey through the first landing on the Moon. Relive every moment as it occurred in 1969.
5001 being divisible by 3 doesnt feel right
Shortcuts to determine if an integer is divisible by:
This is a given.
If the last digit is divisible by 2 (a.k.a. even), then so is the whole number.
If the sum of the digits is divisible by 3, then so is the whole number. The recursivity of this means that if the sum has multiple digits, you can add them up again until you get a single digit and see if it's 3, 6, or 9.
Like the rule for 2, but check if the last two digits are divisible by 4.
If it ends in 5 or 0.
If the rules for both 2 and 3 apply.
No shortcut. Alas.
Like the rules for 2 and 4, but check if the last three digits are divisible by 8. (Yes, this pattern keeps going for 16, 32, etc.)
Like the rule for 3, but the sum of the digits (or the sum of the sum of the digits, etc.) must be 9.
If it ends in 0.
There are actually several rules for 7 (there's a bunch of rules for all of these, in fact). Here's a simple one:
"Subtract twice the last digit from the rest, check if it gives a multiple of 7. Repeat until it's a small enough multiple for you to recognise."
Example:
92911: 9291 - 2 = 9289
-> 9289: 928 - 18 = 910
-> 910: 91 - 0 = 91
-> 91: 9 - 2 = 7
Therefore 92911 is a multiple of 7 (13,273 x 7)
anyone know if rubik is like, problematic? do we still fw his cube?

I'm still thinking about the guy who saw me realize my wheelchair wouldn't fit in the elevator because he (also a wheelchair user) was already inside it and immediately quipped, "This elevator ain't accessible enough for the both of us."

WHAT THE FUCK
Blackout poetry exists on a dual axis from "banal" to "insightful" on the input side and "kind of deep" to "incredibly fucking dumb" on the output side, and while taking something banal and producing something kind of deep is well and fine, for my money taking something insightful and rendering it incredibly fucking dumb is where the real art is.
#i stuck the word 'banal' in there twice specifically so that 'anal' would be low hanging fruit#but i genuinely did not anticipate 'banana' --@prokopetz
idk i would personally rather give up access to certain products seasonally or locally than have people enslaved to give me the ability to have any product any place any time. i think i can go without tomatoes in january.
Yes this but also: relearn preservation skills!!
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7981801-putting-food-by
You can have tomatoes in January if you dried/froze/canned/pickled them in July!
Double also: getting in touch with heirloom varieties and growing traditions again! You can have tomatoes in march that still taste and feel fresh if you seek out the right hanging storage varieties - a guy named Hans Fama has been in the spotlight lately for developing / re-finding some of those breeds, but delicious storage varieties exist for most crops, especially the ones humans have been domesticating and nurturing for millennia... combined with chilling and refrigeration techniques, you get cool facts like that even most "fresh" supermarket apples are over a year old before they get to you!
Humans love preserving things
Well, now I'm fascinated. I did a little more digging, and here's what I found:
Hans Fama sells seeds for storage and heirloom tomatoes here

if i had a dick i would love to have a disappointing orgasm in the shower while thinking of something or someone that i felt i should not be thinking about & then stand under the water with my forehead against a wall watching the proof of my guilt & shame go down the drain
The insight I get into the female mind thanks to this website is amazing.
