killing diet culture is also vital to sustainable food systems by the way. Foods that have been unfairly demonized as "unhealthy" (because they have lots of calories) are sometimes also highly efficient and useful crops (because they have lots of calories). Make your peace with grains and potatoes my friends
If it seems like I never finish anything it's because there's always a new idea to get lost in
Many young wizards have taken to transmuting swans into humans and marrying them. One day, you are lucky enough to find a swan in the wild, and without hesitating, you turn it into a beautiful lady. Unfortunately, that āswanā, was a goose. You have just given a goose a human form.
After I explained the mistake, she laughed uproariously.
āYouāre damn lucky Iām not a swan!ā she said, wiping tears from her eyes. āThey get by on their reputation for being pretty and graceful, but buddy, a swan aināt nothing but a bigger, meaner goose. What do you all want swan wives for anyway?ā
I opened my mouth and then shut it again. Honestly, I hadnāt actually stopped to think about that much. It had become a mark of status, having a demure, graceful woman following on your arm, always dressed in white and gazing soulfully about.
āThey all seem very nice,ā I said finally.
She pursed her lips thoughtfully as she finished pulling on the robes Iād brought with me. āThen thereās something else going on,ā she said. āIāve met my share of swans and not a one of them would put up with that shit. Are you sure they were swans to begin with?ā
āWell, no, now that you mention it. I mean, everyone says thatās what they are, but Iāve never actually seen anyone else do it.ā
āDo they talk? Act like humans? Do they seem intelligent?ā
āWell, they are humans, so I suppose they must be, right?ā This conversation was not going the way I had expected it to.
āHah! Fat chance. Transmutation is just changing the shape of a thing. You turn a swan into a human and all youāve done is put a swan mind in a human-shaped box. Wouldnāt do a wizard much good to be able to turn into a wolf or whatever if they suddenly only had a wolfās brain to work with, would it?ā
āSo, youāre saying that if those women were swans originally, theyād still act like swans?ā
āHoo boy yeah,ā she said. āAbsolutely. Hissing, biting people, trying to build nests, shitting everywhere. The works.ā
āWait, but what about you?ā I asked, desperately trying to get the conversation back on track. āYou seem like a human, but you were a goose ten minutes ago.ā
She grinned wickedly at me.
āI was shaped like a goose ten minutes ago,ā she said. āAnd I appreciate the makeover. But I wasnāt a goose to begin with. Now come on. Thereās something hella creepy going on around here, and weāre gonna figure out what.ā
She started walking back up the path towards town.
āWait!ā I shouted, hurrying after her, āIf you werenāt a goose, then what are you? And whatās your name?ā
āYou can call me Gwydd,ā she said. āAnd as for what I am, itās a long story. Iāll tell you some day. But first, youāre going to tell me everything you know about these swan ladies.ā

no piece of teen media has ever accurately depicted the quiet psychological warfare of bullying. bullies on TV are always dumb brutes and not the evil geniuses of emotional manipulation that they are in real life. being given a wedgie and having your lunch money stolen is nothing in comparison to a classmate quietly creating a taboo against speaking to you that they intend to enforce against all the other kids. itās nothing like continuous cutting comments from people you thought were being nice to you. that way that the work of one kid can make you feel like every person on earth silently hates you and that you are dirty, disgusting, worthless, creepy and useless. that you can have friends but many of them will not speak to you at school for fear of the social consequences on their end. how that damage lasts in any social setting for the rest of your life
you canāt even ātell a trusted adultā because you cannot begin to articulate the thousands of small transgressions youāve experienced building to the horror of knowing your peers would like you dead. they donāt have to say it or hurt you physically. they have other ways of letting you know theyād prefer if you were worn fuel
arguing with din djarin is worse than arguing w a brick wall because at least a brick wall canāt shoot you. the only reason he rolled up to the armorerās lair was to tell her he was going to prove her wrong.Ā āredemption is no longer possibleā mando, who already did his researchĀ āactuallyā¦ā¦ā¦ it is. and hereās proof <3ā² and then the whole mess with IG-11. greef was like my dude we have hundreds of droids.Ā āno I want that one.ā that one blew itself up.Ā āthatās the only one I wantā. that one just tried to kill uĀ āsomeone can fix himā these mechanics say its impossibleĀ āhe is my FRIEND and he WILL be fixedā. and then he just stares at u judging in silence until u crack. heās such a bastard I love himĀ
I ain't even gonna say nothing

Star wars is constructed in a completely incoherent way but it creates the funniest character arcs imaginable. Sheev Palpatine spent like two decades micromanaging tons of different parts of his incredibly intricate and complex plan to take over the galaxy and annihilate the jedi, and then after he won he went "well, enough of all that. time to sit back in my big evil chair, gaze out windows, and let my brainless underlings shit the bed until i die (the first time)"

EWAN MCGREGOR as OBI-WAN KENOBI in EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES and EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH
I donāt know if this counts as a hot take or not, but does anyone else feel that āAndorā is the geekiest of the four live-action Star Wars shows? I know that sounds strange since Andor is the most serious of the four and features the least cameos/easter eggs, but hear me out.
Mando, Boba, and Obi-Wan weāre definitely going for more of the nostalgia factor with the cameos and easter eggs. But Andor, because the show is so serious, feels like an actual exploration of the Star Wars universe. They actually took the time to explain the stuff that we would just see in the background, such as the mapping system, how civilians live on Coruscant, and the various factions of the Rebel Alliance. Also, the series managed to blend in aspects of the Prequel and the Original Trilogies in a way that feels natural. The show doesnāt call out stuff from either trilogy (āHey look fans, itās Mon Mothma! Clap that sheās here!ā), they just treat the Star Wars universe as any other fictional universe.
I guess what I mean is that Mando, Boba, and Obi-Wan, at times, feel like they were written by an exec who wanted to cash in on peopleās nostalgia for Star Wars, whereas Andor feels like it was written by a genuine fan who spent years developing the lore for the universe.
