looked up russians vs japanese piracy twt beef and its worse than i thought😭 it all started with japanese users being mad at discovering there's all those unofficial russian manga reading sites. russians tell them that there's not much licensed manga in russia to consume legally in the first place. japanese say its your problem, you should then go to japan and buy it legally. russians obviously go ??? it's crazy expensive to fly to japan plus we're sanctioned and often can't purchase foreign things with our money. japanese go full russophobia and say ahhh you evil aggressors deserve it for war. russians answer that even before the war this wouldn't be a solution. then brazilians join russians to fight on the side of piracy and started gotcha japanese with their war crimes and xenophobia. then other japanese users joined on the side of piracy and said anti-piracy japanese are hypocrites because its common in japan to listen to pirated western music. i guess this made japanese anti-piracy people even madder and they went all in saying crazy stuff like comparing piracy to rape. the more hilarious example was one japanese user trying to gotcha russians by threatening to pirate and read... dostoevsky🤣 sums up their level of ignorance regarding this whole topic.

The debate was started after TMO/TuMangaOnline a spanish pirate manga&webtoon was taken down. The fight was first with latam users and the russians came as support. Jp and kr users were incredibly racist and xenophobic (obviously) and how hilarious privileged they are and yet so dense to see it lol

My favorite interaction was between a brazilian and japanese. Goes like this:

I ended up having a really interesting conversation with some people at the bus stop today. They were getting out of some sort of ‘clean and sober’ meeting and had starting saying how they were so bored because they didn’t have anything to do, and had to stay at home because all their old friends would pull them back. So I said something like, ‘So this is the time to do all the stuff your parents told you they didn’t have money/time for!’ “Whatcha mean?” “You know, like when you were five and you REALLY wanted to have that toy or do that thing and you were like, ‘Please mom please I gotta have this I gotta go do this’ and they went ‘Hell no you think I’m paying for that do you want to goddamn EAT?’ “ And this light went on in their eyes. The lady is going to go check thrift stores for an Easybake Oven and I told her about Wilton cake decorating classes. no, it isn’t. first of all, the people getting performatively mad about AI are not the people organising labour movements, because they only seem to care when it’s a fandom issue rather than actually a labour issue. secondarily, even if studio ghibli were threatened by the fact that a machine can output images and short videos that look Kind Of like the artstyle of their feature length movies, then doesn’t that reveal their position of authority over that style is arbitrary? like come on how are we doing style theft & collage discourse in 2026.

if the artists at Ghibli aren’t being adequately compensated for their labour , that has nothing to do with somebody sampling their art in their own & everything to do with the company slurping up the profits of their hard work & effort.

Recently I've noticed a pattern of bot messages or spam messages in comment section of art related posts and want to talk about it

I started noticing this when I started posting my art on tumblr, these span accounts message under the comment section something like this

"hey, can you message me? i have something important to discuss"

or

"Hi are you open for commission? If yes inbox me"(I've seen the same account comment the exact same thing on multiple art blogs)

or

"I apologize for disturbing you, but I must talk to you immediately. I can't share it here, so please get in touch with me. I can't get in touch with you directly because of a keep error."

I had got the last comment on one of my artworks when I was still very new to tumblr so i gave it a benefit of doubt and messaged them, they sent me screenshot of a supposedly tumblr email about how they had accidentally reported my blog for scam and now i may risk losing my account and in order to resolve this i should discord the supposed moderator , now fellas i may be new but i ain't an idiot, I didn't reply to the message not followed up on discord and then the account vanished in 2 days

so in short I'd like to say that please don't reply to such comments and report and block the accounts so tumblr can take action against them

this has unfortunately become a major issue in art community because I've received no less than 5 such comments in two days and felt the need to make this post .

70% Drop in Levels of Forever Chemicals Observed in Seabird Eggs Tracks Regulatory Success

These pescatarian birds are directly exposed to PFAS contamination due to the island's position near the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Over fifty years of data show a peak in PFAS (also known as "forever chemicals") content in seabird eggs in the 90s, followed by a decrease as regulations went into effect. The most recent findings show a 70% decrease of most common PFAS.

While continued vigilance a regulation is needed, this data indicates that regulations are working to reduce PFAS concentrations in marine ecosystems.

Yes!!!! I did a review of literature on PFASs in human drinking water about half a year ago, and there is a lot of really good progress! Please celebrate this, please don't let this solution be forgotten (at least so quickly) as the ozone layer or acid rain.

We are making genuine progress! Producers are dramatically altering how much they use PFAS and how much gets released in effluent, but also there's a lot better understanding of how to remove PFAS from the environment!

Hannah Montana is fucked up because its entire POINT as a show is that children should be protected from fame and exploitation, but it stars a REAL little girl that's being exploited. Nearly every episode carries the looming threat of Miley being outed as Hannah and losing her peaceful teenage life to the ravages of fame. Her father in the show (played by her own father in real life) wisely protected her from the trauma of fame by making her wear a disguise and live a rather quiet, interview-free life. Meanwhile the REAL Billy Ray Cyrus sold his daughter to Disney Channel when she was 11 and forced her to read dialogue about how terrible it would be to face the public eye. Like... Jesus, dude. The fictional Robby Ray is 10x the father, and it's not even close. (It's also IMMENSELY funny that her dad doesn't use his real name in the show, while she does. Almost like he wanted a bit of a disconnect between his identity and his character. Something Miley didn't get.)

For anyone who doesn’t know, Sciatica is pain due to compression of the sciatic nerve, which runs from your buttocks down the back of your leg. The reason this stretch is helpful is because the sciatic nerve, after leaving your spinal cord, immediately runs just underneath - and may get compressed by - the Piriformis muscle deep in your buttcheek, which helps you externally rotate your hip. (If the muscle is super tight, your toes on that side might actually point further out when you lie down compared to the toes on your other foot, jsyk).

If the above stretch ain’t compatible with you for reasons like having bitch ass knees, here are some alternative and amazing stretches for the muscle in order of easiest to hardest (but imo least to most helpful) to perform:

However, just keep in mind that none of these stretches will help you if you have a herniated disc, which compresses the nerve roots that protrude from the spine itself! For that you’ll for sure need some different medical intervention.
