Merlin BBC Merlin they could never make me form a solid opinion about you !!! World’s bravest coward. The most loyal traitor. The most honest liar. The gentlest murderer. Destroys everything trying to avoid destruction. What a guy !!!!!!!

I was so sad to hear about Anthony Heads passing, he played roles that meant so much to us queer, softhearted little nerds. Hearing about his support of the trans community has been so warming to read about. We will always remember your pink DS on the set of Merlin, Rest in peace sir 💔
BAMF Merlin // @merlinbingo
Before I let you pass, I’ll give you a little advice. As courage, there are two more things you’ll need to complete your quest. Strength and magic…
Merlin: Hey Arthur I found this super hot guy lost and alone and now he lives in my room :)
Arthur: excellent put him in my army
If I had a shilling for every time this happened, I'd have at least two.
It's never not funny to me that Leon, the most by the books Knight in all of Camelot, hears Merlin say "I need a crossbow to kill the king right now." And his first thought is "Damn Merlin is being funny as hell today" and hands him the best crossbow in the armory.
a little tribute piece to anthony head. rip to a legend and the only uther in my heart
RIP to this absolute icon, Anthony Head.
okay i know it's 2025 and it's just over eleven years since bbc merlin ended
but
pet peeve is that so. so many magic reveal fics. which i do adore. agree that arthur has the right? basically? to be angry and feel betrayed that merlin never told him. that merlin didn't trust him enough. when really like. idk bro. why would he? how often did arthur continue to rail against magic and say it's all evil and the only "concession" he gave after becoming king was like not pursuing the druids and going out of his way to continue persecuting magic users as harshly as his father. he didn't exactly give any reason for merlin to believe that it was safe to come forward???
bbc merlin was really about a war on gays (or whatever insert marginalized group here) fighting on the side of homophobia, huh
(via @sneakyboymerlin )
The thing is that, in my personal opinion, Arthur does have a right to be upset. He has been lied to and manipulated by the ones closest to him many times before and he never thought Merlin of all people would be one of them. He has a right to have feelings about that.
BUT.
Merlin was not ever wrong about keeping his secrets. He was in deadly danger with every breath he took inside Camelot's borders. He protected and saved the city, the kingdom and the Pendragons dozens of times.
So yeah, Arthur has a right to his feelings, but he does not get to blame Merlin for any of it. He owes Merlin a debt so great it could never be repaid.
Merleon trapped in the bathrooms for pride month 😿
hey, hey boss? did you uh mean for the er typo?
I WOKE UP LIKE 3 MINUTES AGO OKAY I FIXED IT
AND ITS IMMORTALISED IN THESE REBLOGS HAHAHA
Oh okay so i just die okay then 😔
it’s been 10 years </3
Absolutely stunning
Could have been the Mercelot scene of all time. Lancelot teasingly mimics Merlin's use of magic (pigtail-pulling energy), then becomes serious the moment he reads the room. He clears both their dishes. Merlin echoes the words he once said to Freya: "Magic doesn't have to be a curse. It can be a gift." (2x09) vs. "I used to think I was cursed. But now I realize that I have a gift." He pours Lancelot's drink before his own. Lancelot brings up the first time he held a sword, which foreshadows how a feeling that strong never dissolves: even Shade Lancelot, without a single memory of his true self, instinctively reached for his sword. "Slow down. You won't be needing that." (4x09) vs. "That was what I was born to do."
Lancelot asks the right question: "Will you ever tell Arthur?" Merlin tells him what must be his innermost desire: he wants Arthur to see him, just once. Then Lancelot asks the wrong question, in a half-whisper, as if trying not to scare Merlin off—and with a smile, as if trying to lead him somewhere hopeful: "What do you think he'd do?" Instead of answering with a simple "I don't know", Merlin shuts it down entirely: "There's no point in thinking about it. It's never going to happen." He leaves the table, and Lancelot watches him go.
Ooooh, I think misunderstood a part of this scene for a very long time. "It's never going to happen", not because Merlin doesn't believe in Arthur or because he's resigned to live in the shadows for decades to come - he's on his way to sacrifice himself in Arthur's stead, they will never get the chance to have that conversation. Or so Merlin believes. And this isn't Lancelot realising how difficult and sad Merlin's life is, it's him being reminded that Merlin will be dead within a couple of days. Unless he does something about it, of course...

I don't post on this blog very often, but I do think about our silly little magic show every day. Never underestimate the relationship between a fangirl and the hyperfixation tv-series she imprinted on.
