I’m Merlin, friends might call me Els or Cos. That’s okay! Any pronouns are fine, and they/them is a good place to start. I’ve got Autism, ADHD, and an anxiety disorder. Kicked depression in the ass :D

I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If you’ve heard of the term Mormon, that comes from one of our religious texts, The Book of Mormon. No, we do not worship Mormon. Yes, we are Christian. No, the Book of Mormon is not our “Bible” or “the Mormon Bible;” it’s another testament of Jesus Christ, and accounts the history of the Nephites and Lamanites—remnants of the House of Israel—in the Americas. We actually read the KJV of the Bible alongside the Book of Mormon. No, we don’t practice polygamy. Please do not refer to us as Mormons. We are Christians. If you must shorten the name of my church, please include the name of Christ somewhere. He’s the most important part.

I’m also queer as hell. I’ve really strong feelings about advocacy, accurate representation, and public awareness of communities and their experiences. I will not block TERFs, Racists, or others of similar variety, but this is for the sole purpose of allowing my blog to be seen. I do not affiliate with them in any capacity, and shitty people will still be kicked out. I will not argue for the sake of arguing.

I dabble in art and music. Most of my posts are reblogs to spread awareness of important issues, but I occasionally will share my own art under #my art. I will tag potentially upsetting interests of mine (most notably psychological and body horror) as best I can, but I may miss things. There might be a few spooky things here and there that slip through the cracks.

Like they tried to change Reblogs and people rightfully got up in arms, this is a LOT worse. In order to have access to any sort of thing dubbed mature, and We haveALL seen what they think is mature, Everything from a black and white photo of a black woman's arm, to posts about IUD recalls, to a nude painted by a 17th century artist, to anything involving the word Trans; you have to send your personal information to a third party site that WILL get hacked, and you will be doxxed. And they can say "Oh shit, well it wasn't us who sent your name address and gender identity to Moldovan teenagers, here's a couple extra minutes in the ball pit.

That's bad enough!!!!!!!! But the entire idea of needing permission from state authorities to access anything labeled mature by our friendly AI overlords is some fucking Boll shit. Die Gedenken Sind Frie baby. This is all a reaction to people getting uppity about their lowly lowly rights and is being propped up by the same bad actors tht have made life unlivable. Fuck that shit.

YOu know it's always really funny when these tech giants (Or whatever you call owning tumblr dot com) get really antsy about laws considering they pick and choose which ones they abide by.

speaking of animal products, all my faux leather jackets were fucking shredded in three years no matter how well i took care of them. meanwhile my mom's jacket made from authentic leather that she got when she was 18 is still in mint condition. i finally decided to invest in a lambskin jacket which i don't regret. i originally wanted to get cowskin since lambskin isn't very durable but that's the best i could find where i live since it's hard to get a jacket here that isn't plastic shite lmao

Yeah I still have leather my GRANDFATHER owned and it's in peak condition because it's been well taken care of for the past like. Hundred years lmao

a lot of media assumes robots would be immortal but i think its a lot more interesting to explore robots dealing with their parts wearing down and battery life shortening and all the horrible little failings that come with being a complicated machine. sure they can replace parts but you'd assume you cant completely ship of theseus them, or it'd have pretty big rammifications on their sense of identity. idk. give me robots with distinct, unique signs of aging. as a treat.
