Battle Robot Spirits (Battle Robot Damashii) Game Promo:

Short Synapses: 

All out mecha fighting toy video game Crossover Action!

Breakdown:

This is a promo for a PSP game crossing over various mecha and pitting them against one another. It appears that these are the versions of the mecha from Bandai's Robot Damashii line and possibly even the toys themselves fighting each other. I can't really say anything else on gameplay or such since little is known, although I am reminded of Final Fantasy Dissidia.

Valvrave the Liberator (Kakumeiki Valvrave) Teaser Trailer 2 Review

Mecha Anime Studio Sunrise Premiere Next April

Brief Synapses:  

Valvrave flying through Space DOING THINGS! Like smashing random stuff. Also hey look Cast Members!

Breakdown:

This one is pretty simple it start with Valvrave flying in space and Moving! Then we see our protagonist in a red armored space suit and another guy in an aristocratic/military outfit which means he’s likely the rival. Next is a flash of two girls in what looks like high school uniforms which implies they are probably friends/relatives/love interests for the protagonist and or rival! To finish things off we get more of Valvrave moving but this time he gets to Break Stuff!

Plot Details Released!:

70% of the human population now lives in space cities. There are two major powers in this new world the Dorushia Military Pact Federation and the Atlantic Ring United States (ARUS), and between them is a small neutral nation of Jioru which has prospered economically. Our story starts when the Dorushia army invades Jioru and our protagonist a high school student of Jioru encounters the Mysterious Valvrave!

Animation:

Still looks good the animation from what I’ve seen appears to be very smooth. The humans who are 2D animated also look good. Currently the designs remind me of Code Geass along with Gundam 00 which is not a bad combination.

Music:

Instead of violins we now have some very standard sounding space/sci-fi trailer music, I want my VIOLINS BACK!

The Mech:

Not too much new to say on it has a very nice design, although a new piece of promotional artwork shows it has itself a big black sci-fi gun with some glowy blue bits.

My Opinion:

The plot makes my think instantly of gundam and with the tagline “expose the world” of code geass. So right now I am very curious to see more!

Mecha Anime Studio Sunrise Premiere Next April

Brief Synapses:

New Mecha anime by Sunrise, they make a ton of Mecha anime. Trailer is 16 secs not a lot to be said. Tagline is apparently “Expose the World.”

Breakdown:

The teaser trailer shows very little clocking in at 16 secs. The entire time of the trailer the camera just pans over the mecha showing us what it looks like. It ends showing the shows logo which the mech grasps in one hand and shatters.

Animation:

It looks good from what we see, the only important detail here is that the mechs in the series are animated which cgi.

Music: VIOLINS!? This anime is either going to be very classy or super serious with music like that.

The Mech:

Has a very nice design it reminds me of those used in Code Geass truthfully. The mecha has aspects reminiscent of a bird with wings, claws and a tail. With the red and glowy green motif I am actually reminded of a phoenix perhaps? I almost want to say with this design and the music I’m tempted to think this is a magic based Mecha?, Although it’s just purely speculation on my part.

My opinion:

I am intrigued and want to see a full trailer!

Kakuto Jyuki Aragane (Fighting Heavy Machine Aragane) Trailer Review

A Mecha Anime Studio Wonder Creators / Planet Entertainment

Brief Synapses:

A boy fights in some kind of heavily commercialized gasoline powered robot tournament in order to save a small factory from bankruptcy.

Breakdown:

Well I don’t have all that much I can really say especially since I don’t speak Japanese, but here are a few observations. Obviously the trailer starts with our hero being super determined to do something, I’m assuming saving the factory. Then it switches over to him fighting in the tournament piloting his maybe 15ft? tall red mecha. That just so you know it runs on gasoline has giant exhaust pipes sticking out of its chest, which look like they belong more appropriately to a motorcycle. Now back to the tournament, he is fighting another mech in what is very plainly a large arena and the mech are plastered with sponsors and ads’ suggesting this is a highly commercialized sport. The mech apparently get to use all sorts of weaponry like guns, swords and fists. Also given how much time is spent on the red mech fighting the blue one I think it’s safe to assume the blue guy is likely our protagonists’ rival. Also the robots apparently have a Big Red Make Me Stronger Button and given they run on gasoline I’m going to say it’s probably just supercharged robot Nos.

Animation:

To be blunt the Mechs look great everything else does not, the background look quite sloppy and a blast of fire looked pretty lame. The mechs appear to be smoothly animated and the humans don’t look bad but they are obviously not the center of the attention. Now this could be a very early trailer and therefore quite rough so I’d have to see the real thing to make thee observations concrete.

Music:

I’m assuming the background music is likely the main theme and if so it sounds pretty good. It certainly isn’t bad but it’s also definitely not going on my mp3 player, but yourmusical taste could be rather different from mine.

The Mechs:

The look pretty good if a bit odd in general they look like robot samurai with motorcycle parts thrown in and giant heads. The giant heads look alright especially since they are the cockpits for the mechs. In general they look pretty good although the ads detract from their looks. They are also rather small I’d say maybe 15ft which correlates to why the giant head cockpits make sense even though they are a little odd. Also of course they are Freaking Gasoline Powered!? It is definitely an odd choice although it makes sense if you want to make them more realistic.

My Opinion:

It looks interesting I’m definitely curious about it; I’ll have to see more about it before I make too much of an opinion on it. For now I’ll say it doesn’t look bad. - Jay
