#i ADORE this painting<333 #i once had a teacher use it in a lecture on intertextuality & intermediality and i think it's such a great example #i tried to write my thoughts on it here but i can't word it right ughhh..!!#i just think the way the story turns into the painting turns back into words in the poem and it's the same event but such different meaning #but also is it different meaning when it's the same person hearing and seeing and reading it?#but then again experiencing it through other people's tellings/points of view... idk idk i love intermediality!!!!#like. the painting doesn't have to be framed as a reinterpretation specifically brueghel just. shows you the event but also shows you that #the world kept turning while it happened. and what are you supposed to do about it!!!!#and how would you have done that without turning words into a picture!!

incredibly sorry for the black writers and directors of the previous two seasons who thought they were building something. I am so sorry that your work was not respected and now dismissed by this new season. I am so sorry that the love and care with which you crafted the characters, especially of Louis and Claudia was so resented that the current writers' room chose to dilute all. I am so sorry that you are having to see the anti blackness in full force on a formerly black led show and everything you worked on- your vision- it was all wiped off. I am so sorry to Jacob and Delainey for having to work with those scripts.

i like the idea i've been seeing circulating that the reason claudia's “stuck” in a “spidery-ass nowhere” and can't find madeline is because she's in purgatory (the fixation with telling louis to burn her diaries and her dress makes a lot of sense with her wanting to sever any remaining connection) and i love the hopeful twist of believing that being finally able to express her rage at louis and lestat is what will finally get her out of there and i want to add that it's so perfect that we're never going to be able to know for sure. if claudia's free it means she's free from the story. it means she's free from all of them, but also from all of us.
