Headcanon that Remus and Lily are the first to find out about starchaser;
So it’s in sixth year, Remus and Lily are doing their Prefect round and they pass by a broom cupboard, and hear something fall. (as prefects at Hogwarts, I think they've definitely caught a few people doing it in broom cupboards)
So then Remus opens the door. He and Lily had expected what was going on, just not who they were gonna see.
It was James and Regulus. The same James and Regulus who fought like cats and dogs and acted like they hated each other. Their eyes go wide and they step away from each other a bit, they look at Remus and Lily, dumbfounded.
Remus and Lily look back at them, then at each other.
"Its not what it looks like", Regulus says frantically.
"I can explain-", James begins.
Remus just shuts the door, leaving the two absolutely speechless.
He smirks and looks at Lily, who sighs and hands him ten galleons.
