adding to this kishiar mightve thought that there WAS someone else thats involved with yuder, specifically the one who gave yuder the name yudrein and might have been involved in a second gender incident too, and was probably ready to accept and comfort yuder of anything, and then that someone else turned out to be an alternate universe version of himself.

Meet Deacon from Cinderella Boy: cousin of the MC, holder of the Helper Key, and a loveable dork

Why should you vote for him over his two competitors? Let's talk about it!

Character Development

Over the course of the comic Deacon has gone through a lot of character development as he took on the Helper role, reignited his friendship with his cousin, and learns to stand up for and be more confident in himself.

When they first found Bronze (the Helper Key), Deacon saw sidekicks as good-for-nothing and unimportant. As he took on the Helper role, he learned that a lot more goes into being the sidekick than meets the eye and the importance of the role.

Along with accepting the Helper role, Deacon also learned to make his own decisions with his life. His parents were paying for him to go to medical school to become a doctor like his father which was not Deacon's dream career, but he went along because he didn't want to be ungrateful. Even though his parents had his best intentions at heart, he would have been miserable. With some guidance, he learned that he should stand up for himself and make his own decisions, which in his case meant switching from medical school to writing.

Deacon had a MAJOR glow-up in season 2, but he also has had some great outfits in season 1 as well! Plus, who doesn't love a dork with brown hair and freckles?

One thing I found interesting about the Whiskey Peak episode is the difference from Zoro's brawl in anime/manga. In the original, it's more fun and goofy. I always loved watching Zoro have fun and enjoying messing around as he beat up the Baroque Works grunts 😝

Whereas in the live action, it's played more seriously. The change works because they decided to frame it as Zoro reflecting on his overwhelming defeat against Mihawk and proving to himself that he won't be discouraged in one day challenging Mihawk again to be the world's greatest swordsman. I think that was a great way to put a different spin on the material without just doing the same thing as the original. And it's a nice way to follow up on a significant character moment for Zoro.

Plus Mackenyu gets to be badass as Zoro

They went full-on theater kid with Mr. 9 in the live action. I mean, he already dressed the part with his "costume," but the actor sells it more with the emphasis on enunciating each word like in theater compared to the rest of the cast speaking more normally (but still easy to hear what they're saying if you turn off subtitles). I've never given Mr. 9 much thought in One Piece, but I think they did a good job with him.

Also, kudos again to Mr. 9 being ride-or-die for Miss Wednesday even after the reveal that she's a traitor. Respect.
