Gale and Mystra (and Mystra, and Mystra...) - Meta post that dives into Forgotten Realms lore to discuss Mystra's multiple lives/deaths, how Gale fits into the timeline, when Mystra visited Gale, etc
Shadow Curse Events series - Meta posts that dive into Ketheric's descent into Sharran zealotry, his war against the Harpers and Druids, and the first 40 days of the shadow curse.

Plot: The island city of Nautera disappeared over 4500 years ago, if it ever existed at all. Now not a single, legitimate record of Nautera exists, save for one. The Nauterran Account. Long thought lost, it has recently been retrieved from the depths of Candlekeep’s archives and placed into the capable hands of one Gale Dekarios. With the Nauterran Account in hand and an eclectic team of Baldurians and other allies mounting an official expedition, Gale journeys to find the ruins of Nautera…but hopes to find so much more.

Bound by Blood Masterlist
Plot: Seventeen-year-old Nyssa Surana never expected to find herself a Grey Warden - let alone one of three surviving Wardens, one of which is her own cousin, Velle Tabris. She's the last person anyone would ever choose to save the world. Young, inexperienced, deeply anxious, and only just out of the Circle Tower for the first time in a decade, she's convinced she's as unlikely a hero as unlikely heroes come. But someone has to save Ferelden from the Fifth Blight...and keep her cousin out of trouble...and try not to fall in love with the charming Alistair Theirin, all at the same time. Three impossible tasks, but she's determined to succeed, even with the odds stacked against her.
Oh, sure. You slither down ONE wall like a lizard, and suddenly your new friend (the same friend you JUST invited to stay in your house for a MONTH!) starts calling you "a creature in the semblance of a man." Smh.

did we ever stop to ask morrigan how she feels about being tasked by her abusive mom to essentially become a baby incubator turned single mom or were we always meant to just let her go on not processing that wild scenario without so much as a verbal check in with her about it
Also the "Morrigan talks to Alistair directly" scenario leads to the possibilty of them just, doing the ritual and never telling the warden about it, which is unfortunately super funny to me.
And those who slept, the ancient ones, awoke,
For their dreams had been devoured
By a demon that prowled the Fade
As a wolf hunts a herd of deer.
Taking first the weakest and frailest of hopes,
And when there was nothing left,
Destroying the bright and bold
By subtlety and ambush and cruel arts.

About 5 years post game they're spending a quiet summer night outside their cottage, drinking wine. Usually they have a silly tradition to make a small toast before. This time Connie takes the opportunity to say that he wants to be with her not only until death but beyond it. Admits he asked Arnell to teach him more about Selune during their fishing trips. He proposes with a ring he was looking for since destroying the Netherbrain. The Ring of Animal Influence that will let Shadowheart cast speak with animals on herself.
Characters: Cullen x Fem!Lavellan (Anyla)
Summary: Over a year after the defeat of Corypheus, Inquisitor Anyla Lavellan has organized a grand tourney with her advisors Josephine and Cullen. The victor of the tourney is allowed to ask for any boon from the Inquisitor in the hopes that she will grant their desires. However, none of them anticipate that the boon one champion would ask for would be Anyla's hand—in marriage. Furious at the insult and anxious not to lose his chance at marrying the woman he loves, Cullen demands to enter the tourney in the final round. The challenge is set and there are five contenders for the Inquisitor's hand. Win, and Cullen secures his love's hand in marriage and life goes back to normal. Lose…well, losing simply isn't an option.
A/N: Things are ramping up! The battle begins and Anyla is waaaay too tempted to cheat.

Anyla’s fingers were once again curled around the arms of her seat, her fingernails pressing into the wood. Try as she might to look composed, her heart was in her throat, beating a staccato rhythm too strong to swallow around.
The tourney arena had been transformed into makeshift war zone—the joust fencing repurposed to cut odd lines across the field, stacks of crates creating makeshift hills to climb atop or dive behind. There were racks of weapons at distant intervals, each one a reminder of the rules of the melee: you were only out if you were incapacitated. The fight wasn’t over, so long as you could make it back on your feet.
This melee was a free-for-all.
Or it would have been, had Anyla not made the mistake of taunting every other champion to go after her Commander. It was her own words that twisted a knot in her stomach now as she watched the champions take up their position around the field.
No one is marrying me unless they defeat my Commander first.
A single combat match would have been a breeze for Cullen. But four-on-one was a challenge for even the best of warriors…and these were some of the best warriors in Thedas.
She took in a slow breath through her nose. He will be fine. He will be fine.
It was almost time. The champions were placed around the tourney field at equal distance from one another, their flags in a line just below where she sat. The Van Markham crest for Lord Auerbach. A dwarven mask shape for Revka. The city emblem of Treviso for Lucio. A strange, many-limbed sea creature for Kalanda. The Inquisition flag for Cullen. She watched the black and gold fabric of the Inquisition flag snap in the wind before her gaze was drawn back to him.
He cut a striking figure, her Commander, dressed in full ceremonial plate armor, wearing a cape of dark fur and burgundy fabric. But her eyes sought out the light blue sash wrapped and tied around his sword arm. She watched as his fingers flexed restlessly around the hilt of his sword, the long tails of her sash fluttering in the breeze.
The sash had sparked some whispers when he entered the tourney field, his shield in one hand and his sword in the other. It had drawn Lord Auerbach’s gaze, too, though he was too far away from Cullen to say anything.
Whatever the collective thoughts of the crowd were, the sash hadn’t escaped their notice. Anyla just hoped her meaning would be clear.
Not that it would stop any of the champions joining the melee.
The others were no less prepared to fight than her fully armored Commander. Lucio had a fresh quiver full of arrows and a bandolier of throwing knives. Revka had her great warhammer balanced on one shoulder, her armor concentrated to cover her torso and arms. Kalanda had her knives in their sheathes at her hips, her bangled arms crossed over her chest, whereas Auerbach had a thin sword and a dagger, plus a small crossbow holstered at his back.
They’re just games, Anyla tried to reassure herself. No one is in danger here, least of all Cullen.
Still, she didn’t like the look of that crossbow. It wasn’t much to worry about from afar, but up close, she had little doubt it could produce enough force to puncture through the thinner parts of Cullen’s armor.
She trained her gaze instead on the blue sash around Cullen’s arm again. She hadn’t lied when she said the sash itself wasn’t enchanted. She wished she had thought that far ahead, because a necklace or ring from Dagna with a few protective enchantments would have gone a long way. But in the moment, the best she could offer was a small spell, silently cast as she wrapped the sash around and around. It was an old spell, a subtle charm for sharper focus and faster reflexes, the better to attack and defend with.
The Circle mages called it a Heroic Aura.
It wouldn't last long, but maybe it would be enough to give Cullen an extra edge in the melee. At the very least, she hoped it would keep him safe.
And that no one else would notice that she had cast the spell over him.
The arena was silent now, a hush stealing over the crowd until the only sounds were the snap of the flags. Everyone had gathered for this final round, including those who had lost previous bouts. All the ambassadors and envoys were in their seats on either side of her. Briony had taken up a position standing behind her, still dressed in her armor. The whole tourney seemed to be holding its breath.
Cullen turned his head toward her. He wore his helmet now, so she couldn’t quite see his eyes, but she knew they were trained on her. She made an effort to smooth out any signs of worry in her face and sent him smile.
He gave her a determined nod.
Then the horn blew a single, deafening note.
—————
The champions wasted no time. All five of them sprang to action, Revka and Auerbach turning on their heels to charge toward Cullen while Lucio raced for one of the stacks of crates, eager to get to high ground as he slipped an arrow from his quiver. He had just climbed up the first layer when Kalanda leapt onto the crates with him, swiftly drawing her dagger from its sheath and cutting a bold line toward his legs. Lucio jumped over her attack onto the edge of the next highest crate, then backflipped off, drawing his arrow before he had even landed. The crowd erupted with cheers. Even Anyla was momentarily distracted from watching Cullen, looking away to catch a glimpse at the showy display.
As Kalanda pursued Lucio, dodging his arrow shot and attempting to keep close, where his arrows would be useless, the other two champions focused their attacks on Cullen. There were battles on two fronts now—Kalanda versus Lucio, and Revka, Auerbach, and Cullen in a three-way melee.
Revka’s attacks were slow but driven, precise, as relentless as a battering ram as she used the momentum of one swing toward one opponent to drive the next swing toward the other. Auerbach was faster, aiming a flurry of jabs with both sword and dagger at Cullen while attempting to dodge Revka’s hammer as it drove his way. Cullen stayed on the defensive, blocking attacks with both sword and shield, occasionally swinging his sword to clear the space between him and his opponents, but never quite landing the hit. Anyla leaned forward in her seat, willing him to be bolder, while also acknowledging the wisdom of his strategy—reserve his energy, fight smart, and be the last one standing.
Take him down, Cullen! She clenched her teeth together so she wouldn’t shout it out loud.
As if sensing her words, Cullen’s next strike was a shield bash that caught Auerbach in the torso, driving him back and nearly off his feet. Revka swung her hammer overhead and down, but Cullen turned sharply to avoid the blow. As the hammer slammed into the ground, kicking up a small cloud of sawdust and dirt, Cullen aimed a slash across her arm. She shifted just in time for the blade to scrap harmlessly across her armored vambrace.
Anyla had to admit, whether Cullen was on the offensive or defensive, he was breathtaking to watch. She’d seen him fight before, but always in battles where she was also fighting, focused more on her enemies and her spells than on him. She’d seen him spar and duel his soldiers, but this was more intense than that ever was. The Inquisition soldiers and recruits dueled to practice techniques and test their skills, but they rarely pushed the limits of their commander’s strength and skill.
Some part of her had foolishly believed this melee would be the same, but no. The combatants of the melee fought like their lives were on the line.
While the others cheered on Lucio and Kalanda, Anyla kept her attention glued to Cullen, tense as she anticipated every blow that would connect with him. She could see Auerbach’s mouth moving below his helmet as he traded blows with Cullen, but the man's words were lost in the din of the crowd. Revka, meanwhile, kept her teeth bared and gritted, wasting no time on words.
An eruption of cheers distracted Anyla, forcing her to look over at Kalanda and Lucio. He had tossed aside his bow and quiver in favor of daggers, the two of them locked in a whirlwind of blows, blades scraping off each other. Despite being several inches shorter than the towering Kalanda, Lucio gave very little ground as they fought—that is, until she spun with a kick aimed high, toward his head. He blocked with his forearms and staggered, one blade dropping to the ground. Kalanda kicked it out of his reach and pressed the advantage, aiming another flurry of blows that Lucio could only barely dodge or block.
Anyla let go of the arms of her seat to fold her hands in her lap, offering a silent prayer of gratitude to both the Creators and the Maker, if either of them were listening, for guiding Kalanda to choose her battles away from Cullen. This whole thing would have been very different if Cullen had been forced to defend from an archer from afar and a lightning-fast rogue on top of the warriors already bearing down upon him.
A collective, sympathetic groan rippled through the crowd, then, as elsewhere on the tourney field, Cullen slammed his shield directly into Auerbach’s chest again, the upper edge catching Auerbach in the mouth.
Anyla was nearly on her feet, her heart in her throat but her blood singing with adrenaline. “Yes!”
The Nevarran’s head snapped back and he stumbled back, pressing the back of one hand to his mouth.
It came away lurid and red with blood.
Auerbach spat on the ground, dragging his gloved hand across his mouth, and closed the distance again, slashing both sword and dagger down across Cullen’s chest. Caught trying to dodge Revka’s hammer blow, Cullen left himself wide open for the attack, noticing it too late to block. He twisted, stumbling back another step. Auerbach’s blades scraped down the embellished metal of Cullen’s breastplate, sparks flying as they skittered over some of the pattern’s edges, cutting cleanly through the strap across his chest that held his cape on his back.
Cullen seized the cape as it fell, flinging it blindly out toward his two attackers. The wind caught the fabric and billowed it out, right in the faces of both Auerbach and Revka, who practically ran headlong into it. They both tried and failed to check their speed, ending up briefly tangled in the fabric. Cullen took advantage of their momentary struggle to gain his footing again, fingers uncurling and curling around the hilt of his sword.
Anyla's hands clenched in her lap. That had been too close.
Even with Briony fighting she had wanted to whisper little spells of support and protection, and now that temptation had increased tenfold, even as Cullen won small victory after small victory in the seconds that ticked by. She dug her fingernails into her palms, willing herself to ignore the voice that whispered she could help him, the same way she did when they fought side-by-side in battles. Barrier spells to take the force of the blows for him, healing to take away the pain, spells to give him a second wind or make him stronger and faster. She wanted him to win, but more than anything else, she wanted him to survive and make it back to her.
What was one small barrier spell…
No. She had already charmed him once, and that was dangerous enough. She had to trust he could do this. That he would win. Without her additional aid.
She spared a glance toward Kalanda and Lucio. In the brief moments it took to watch Cullen, Lucio had lost both of his daggers and half of his throwing knives, and Kalanda was down one dagger. Lucio was now engaged in a defensive match, blocking and dodging Kalanda’s fist and dagger, trying to aim his retreating steps toward a rack of spears. He ducked beneath one of her swings and slipped a throwing knife from his belt, stabbing it viciously downward toward her calf.
Kalanda swung her leg back and out of the way, then drove her knee up, connecting with Lucio’s jaw. He staggered back and stumbled, tripping over his own feet and going down.
He tried to roll, but Kalanda was faster. She scrambled on top of him, pinning one of his arms beneath him and pressing her knee into his other arm as she held her dagger to his throat.
Defeat.
More cheers erupted from the crowd. The first champion was down.
Anyla released a breath, relief rushing through her like a wash of cool water to soothe her tense body. Below her, an attendant rushed onto the field toward the flags to take down Lucio’s banner. One champion down, three to go. She fanned herself with her hands, trying to will away the sweat trickling down her neck and shake out the jitters in her hands. When did it get so hot in the Frostbacks?
She didn’t have any time to wonder. Freed from the fabric of Cullen’s cape, both Auerbach and Revka were pressing close again. Auerbach’s blades did almost nothing against Cullen, but his constant attacks kept Cullen always on the defense—he was waging a war of perseverance, she realized, and with Revka also breathing down both their necks and Kalanda soon to join the fray, it might just be a war he would win.
Anyla viciously hoped one of Revka’s swings would finally take out the Nevarran lord’s kneecaps.
But Auerbach was not Revka’s concern, it seemed. She swung wide at him, forcing him to roll out of the way, well away from both Revka and Cullen. Then her hammer came up, almost uncannily fast, and drove directly over Cullen.
Anyla nearly choked on her sudden gasp as she sprang to her feet. “Cullen!”
He raised his shield just in time, the Inquisition-stamped metal taking the full brunt of her swing. Anyla watched the metal dent and cave, the swing hard enough to shatter bone. Cullen staggered and fell to one knee, his battered shield still raised over head.
That’s when Anyla knew.
The biggest danger to her plate-clad Commander wasn't Auerbach.
