I need to ask for help and since I have no followers 😂 please share. I am a queer life coach who is currently confused about my gender in general (but that's another story!) I recently spoke to a young teacher who called her one non binary student "it" (I really am sorry if this is triggering, but I want to communicate the severity of the situation) and my jaw hit the floor. I want to put together a presentation that I can give at schools in my area but I do not have the full range of trans experience being that I am just one person.

I would like to ask any trans people to get in touch and tell me what you wish your teachers/lecturers/bosses knew.

If you get in touch please feel free to tell me anything that you feel is relevant. I will turn on anons.

I really think this is necessary after this short conversation with the above teacher so I am thankful for any input at all. Note: I will be going forward with this talk, if you send hate to me, you're giving me more evidence of how necessary it is to educate people. Just saying.

My grandfather doesn’t use the word “calories” when talking about food…he uses the word “value” instead. I was eating fruit for lunch and he said “if you’re going for a run later you need something more valuable”. I sat there for a while just thinking about the way he said that. Change out a negative word with a positive one and you’ll see start seeing positive change.

Just thinking about Dani probably deciding to put the kids to do some weed pulling in the garden so that she could get on the gardener’s good graces, since Jamie practically ignored her the first time they met and Dani wanted to leave a good impression on her.

idk if this was directed at me or not, but I am a union member and we have been struggling against our boss actively on this issue since August. the original post is mostly me venting via gallows humor (the “reblog if u agree, trying to prove something to [person]” bit is a meme), because as you can imagine, it is extremely stressful.

Where I live we can't unionise and I have a decent job (professor at a private college) and I basically go into work to teach online. I could very easily do this from home (I did for 4 months) but we have been told we won't be allowed to do it again. Quitting your job during a pandemic sounds like a noble thing to do but it's not really an option for me and I'm sure a lot of others like me too. I'd love to stay home, but I'd also like to pay my bills and eat. Maybe this is selfish, but I feel like I'm not the bad guy in this scenario.
