âNesta would create⊠a trove of nightmares.â
No Amren. Thatâs what YOU would do.
Nesta made friendship bracelets.
Me when people say The house of wind is rehab for Nesta.
Guess being forced to become a soldier, working for free every day in the library, not seeing any professionals who would help Nesta's trauma, being manipulated to go on dangerous missions that could get her killed to get powerful objects, sleeping with her caregiver (and don't pull Cassian is her mate because if this was rehab it would be illegal) Using her trauma like her abusive mother did to her to seduce someone, lying to her about her made weapons, wanting her to train in front of misogynistic men in Illyria before training at the HOW - if being forced to train infront of men wanting to harm you or want you dead is not a humiliation tactic, I don't know what is? The dreaded punishment hike scene because oh so precious Rhysand can't do no wrong and "he was trying to protect Feyre," which is bullshit and he was in the wrong but Nesta deserved to have her life threatened according to her haters. She was broken down in the name of the submission and to be controlled. Not because the inner circle care because they don't. Mor wants to throw Nesta into the human lands to get killed or throw her into Hewn City to be abused, Cassian only cares about having a mate (if Nesta wasn't his mate, I believe he would've treated her a lot worse) Rhysand hates her (He treats Feyre like garbage by disrespecting her again and again) Amren only sees her as a weapon (Amren is way nastier than Nesta could ever be but it's okay because she likes Rhysand) Elain being the two faced sister and letting the IC treat Nesta awfully. (This is why I can't stand Elain) No one had Nesta's best interests at heart considering Elain ran to Rhysand saying Nesta isn't trying after provoking Nesta. Guess Nesta had options, tho, to submit or die in the human lands.
Can someone please write a fanfic where Nesta kills Rhysand ⥠That would be great.
I'll do it đ€Łđ
"Goodbye, Rhysand" Nesta flames burned higher and higher to the point it drowned Rhysand's scream.
That would be delightful. I'm so evil hahahaha
The High Lady of Night and death.
What if after Rhysand dies and gets resurrected back to life, the land decided that change should be a must and a new ruler emerges from the brutal battle of blood and bodies; the one that cut the head off from it's vicious King, the one the wind calls from the very essence of life and death. The one song about the girl whom fought with her teeth and claws in the depth of the cauldron - the creation of life. A prophecy and a purpose to rid itself from a tyrant off the Night throne. "A true Queen shall rise to right the wrongs from centuries past of cruel cunning Kings and predecessors." A new reign was given to Lady Death herself. Nesta Archeron, the new and first true High Lady of the Night court.
Nesta Archeron, The wind calls with news of your destiny. Come and claim your rightful throne of death and night. New nightmare but dreams. Opportunity and ambition. My starfire and moonstone, please step forward to me.... You have been chosen for a great purpose, By the mother, Light the new night sky worthy of your magic, Our New Ruler and First Queen of Night. The surge of sudden unknown magic alongside an ancient voice surrounds Nesta with an open embrace. It felt familiar but unfamiliar at the same time; But Nesta's knees tried to buckle with restraint but the power was far stronger and overwhelming and Nesta suddenly realised that the power wasn't fighting her rather than claiming her. Nesta Archeron stumbled on the ground with the thud of her own heart beating racing faster and faster in anticipation to drown out the loud noise from winning the victory of this long brutal war with Hybern. The King was now dead. Good riddance, she would say, but the air felt tighter and less controlled around her with dark starlight magic screaming for her to unleash the beast. The beast of Night. Become her true potential of a magnificent monster with pure raw power dancing among her silver flames, radiating underneath her bloodied skin. As if she was chosen. Nesta's skin was covered in beautiful swirling black ink on her skin, glistening in the warm weather of heat and the stench of rotting dead bodies surrounding her, making her stomach coiled with acid and sickness. Her skin finally settled from her own beast form trying to reach out with scales of a gray and silver dragon with silver and dark purple like flames intertwined with each other, as if both magic recognised each other from past lives but were distance but now they can finally be free to explore with each other without consequences. When Nesta turned her head around, all the High lords were staring at Nesta with wonder and in awe whilse the Night court army and it's people including Keir, bowed down to her on their knees. Nesta gasps with a concern look in her eyes before realising the reason why Rhysand's own people are kneeling to her. Because it would mean Rhysand has died. He is dead. And the land decided to claim her to lead. Not Feyre but herself. Not Cassian, Azriel, or any of the inner circle but her.
âšïžâšïžâšïžâšïž A history to be rewritten in the stars.
Lately, work and writing have been taking up most of my time, but here's a Maleficent crossover for you đ
the backgrounds took me the longest, I hate them
This slays hard đŻ
Okay, so I had a thought and decided Iâd ask around some of my favourite blogs because Iâm really curious to hear peopleâs answers.
I love reading manwha. Specifically ones where someone from our modern world is reincarnated/transmigrated into the world of a book/game/manga/comic etc. that they read. So, I was wondering, if you, as you are at the time reading/responding to this ask, were transmigrated into ACOTAR, and woke up as Nesta Archeron, to the sound of Cassian banging on your door at the start of silver flames?Â
For some added context about your situation:Â
You were transmigrated, not reincarnated, you didnât live Nestaâs life up until that point, you wake up in her body with all the knowledge you have in your life up until now, at a predetermined point (the start of silver flames).
Nestaâs body (now your body) may have instinctual, physical reactions to certain traumatic triggers and stimuli, including night terrors based on her memories. (Meaning that your body (read Nesta's body) might react instinctively to things that it considers stressors/triggers, like loud fires, and have nightmares about the cauldron, even if you didn't experience it yourself, or root through those particular memories.
You won't inherit her emotions or personality. You'll be entierly yourself within her body, barring the instinctual reactions you have to her triggers. You won't have her emotional attachments, so you won't suddenly love her sisters as if they're you're own, nor will you have any particular devotion to Elain like Nesta did. You might learn to love them as your own sisters, in time, or you may not. Depends on you.
Cassian is your mate (unfortunately).
You will have access to Nestaâs memories, but youâd need to make a conscious effort to dig through them if thereâs any particular information you want/need from her life that was unclear or wasnât mentioned in the books.Â
Rhysand wonât immediately know you areât Nesta, at least not right away, but depending on your actions, he might become suspicious. If he dives any deeper than surface level into your mind (like when he saw her trauma), heâll realise that you arenât Nesta. At least not entirely. To him, if he tries to dig, your memories and Nestaâs will be jumbled together. He will piece it together sooner or later though.
The real Nesta, for all intents and purposes, is dead. She canât come back or regain control of her body. When your soul transmigrated in, hers had just given up on living entirely. She felt kind of bad that you had to inherit her life the way you did, but doesnât have the strength to keep living it herself. So you donât have to give the body back to her anymore.Â
If you wish/manage to acquire the mask of the dead trove, putting it on may let you see and converse with the real Nestaâs soul. She canât interact with the living world anymore, but she wonât move onto her next life just yet either. Sheâll stick around until sheâs satisfied she can move on. You can only speak with/interact with her with the mask, and I can't guarantee she'd approve of what you've been doing with her body. That's up to your imagination, and what you decide to do. She won't hold a grudge against you just because you inherited her life, however.
So, what do you think? What would you do? How would you chose to live? Would you avenge Nesta? Try to change the world? Or run for the hills? What would be your plan?
I would absolutely avenge my Queen.
I would absolutely use my magic to wear a I hate Cassian and Rhysand t-shirt because for shock value and Cassian would go absolutely mental - because no one should hate Rhysand - and tells me to change. I would not change. I would actually be honest with Cassian and say "Look, I'll give you one chance to actually redeem yourself so I'll be honest, I know this is a intervention for Nesta in the name of wanting her to heal but let's look closer and ask why would your family whom can't stand Nesta would want her to heal by giving her only 2 options which is forcing her to train infront of misogynistic males and staying in a house that anyone without wings or can't winnow can get down, or if she refuses, the human lands where Nesta would get killed. For having PTSD. Seems more like a permanent punishment to break down Nesta (I'm not saying Nesta shouldn't heal, she should) Cassian may be suspicious because Nesta shouldn't know about this dreadful intervention - I even tell him Rhysand threatens to fight Nesta because he doesn't like it when she doesn't submit and will use Nesta "healing" to manipulate her into finding the dread trove. I'll tell Rhysand this to his face myself too by using my power to shield myself from getting misted. I will also tell Feyre I will need to find the mask to get in touch with her sister, Feyre is like "what the fuck? Nesta are you ill?." Confused because her intervention is not going to work on Karli Jade Howard. Not on my watch will I be controlled. Rhystand tries to get into my head but the mind of Nesta and Karli walls is build with a very strong mental shield. I did this to protect Nesta's privacy and mine. Rhysand fails with huffs and puffs. I tell them I will help with the dread trove but I'm not staying in the Night court. Rhysand and Feyre will try gaslight me to the point I'll ended up losing my patience shouting that Nesta deserves better and she is unfortunately dead because of you. Amren is looking at me as if I'm crazy. Tbh I am crazy. Honestly, Feyre doesn't believe me (unsure) until I tell her we are all book characters and I'm trying to stop fate ruining her sister's life. I'll go and say to Cassian maybe if he treated Nesta better before she died, he wouldn't be in this position of a broken mating bond (I've broken the bond during this intervention) Cassian goes on his knees and begs but I've told him I'm not her, and I'll unfortunately say I'm sorry. I'll explain the plot of the books and that includes Feyre's pregnancy - Rhysand obviously tries to kill me lol - but my silver flames winnowed me out after me telling him Nesta actually saves their lives by using the trove - I'll either end up in the Summer court, Autumn Court after killing Beron and marrying Eris, or the Spring court (Tamlin will try and fight me at first before I go what a cutie. Tamlin is like wtf. Anyway Tamlin ends up being my friend or lover, who knows at this point. He also knows I'm not Nesta and calls me Karli) I'll even be besties with Lucian and get him a fox Teddy for jokes. I do struggle with Nesta nightmares but I struggle more with my own by missing my sisters, my partner, my dad and nieces. And I'll have breakdowns crying for my family because I'm obviously dead in my world knowing I'll never see them again. Anyway, I end up successful getting the mask and I've ended up with trauma naturally. When I saw Nesta for the first time in her ghost form, she told me to watch over her sisters and to tell them I'll will always love them. I do. And that she promise me to watch over my family too and that my sisters and my partner are always putting flowers on my grave. I've ended up having a massive meltdown. I'll eventually let Feyre in my mind and she broke down along side me. Elain is like what the fuck is going on? Until she saw a vision of my and Nesta's conversation... Everyone is a crying mess. I'll eventually start seeing a healer and a mind healer, have magic training, create my sword, and call it my partner nickname Marek. (Amren ain't happy about that.)
Me when people justify Nesta needing "tough love" (straight up abuse) to heal.
You can say you love or like Nesta but in reality you do not like Nesta.
I just came to the conclusion that Cassian never fell in love with Nesta (and probably vice versa).
The destined mates trope is deeply flawed because if itâs not properly developed, it makes the relationship feel forced rather than organic. It removes the need for two people to truly connect, grow, and choose each other.
The reason ACOMAF works so well (enough to make us dismiss its problems) is because Feyre falls in love with Rhys before she knows about the bond. We see them falling for each otherâthe banter, the vulnerability, the slow realization, the giggling and kicking feet effect.
But in ACOSF? Thereâs no falling in love moment. No deep conversation where they truly get to know one another, no softness, no spark, no moment of sudden shyness or realization. Just forced proximity, fights, and sex.
No wonder he never said he loved herâbecause he actually doesnât.
The destined mates trope is deeply flawed because if itâs not properly developed, it makes the relationship feel forced rather than organic. It removes the need for two people to truly connect, grow, and choose each other.
I can't even describe how much I agree with this. Their mating bond is brought up only when the story and people need to highlight that Nessian are the endgame yet ignored the rest of the time.
As 1. "Go girl!" when Elain mentions she's doesn't own Lucien anything but Nesta is a bitch for not accepting Cassian's attention.
2. The reason why Cassian had to curate Nesta's training was because he is her mate and Rhysand suspects this. That's why he organized all this show. He wanted to appease his brother, who was a tad sad and jealous about Feysand's bond.
3. The Solstice scene and the one before the Blood Rite. How entitled Cassian feels regarding Nesta is disgusting. I would understand if he really hid the information as not to pressure her, kinda the reason why Rhys did that to Feyre, but he does exactly that - pressuresd Nesta to acknowledge the bond after keeping it a secret.
4. The bond isn't even properly shown, because if we should consider that it's strong enough to cloud someone's mind (e.g. how Nesta was ready to die on the battlefield near Cassian) why did Cassian accepted so easily Nesta's kidnapping to the Blood Rite. I understand, plot-wise the girls had to have this arc, but why couldn't we see Cassian more mad. Just show that Azriel and Rhys had to knock him down and it would've been better than "Nesta will manage" and 'you'll know is she dies" - *insert horrified/disgusted face*. As if they couldn't just kill Nesta in her sleep or as if worse things than death can't happen (starts with r ends with ape). But yeah Cassian be chill, who cares.
And THEY DON'T TALK, why Cassian loves Nesta? Unclear but she's kinda sexy. Why Nesta loves Cassian? Unclear but he's kinda good. The book is a fanfic and with pain in my heart I mean this as an offense. ( I really don't like to insinuate that fanfic is lesser writing, because it's not but here it feels like SJM has a total different vision of Nessian development which she failed to show on page, and the entire plot is a fanfic inspired by something that exists only in her head)
Me thinking how amazing Neris could be but unfortunately Nesta ended up with that loser (Cassian.) if I was Nesta, and Eris said he would show me what a future High lord could do, I would've fainted and then taken his offer in a instant.
Booktok makes me sick, not just because of all the shitty books. It's the prevalence, no, the celebration, of toxic masculinity. Every single booktok book features some variation on the same man. And without fail, against all sensible reason, these characters are portrayed as handsome and charismatic and desirable.
It makes me sick when these authors hold up these toxic, predatory traits and put them on a pedestal as some kind of Ideal Man.
It makes me sick when their aggressiveness and possessiveness is treated as romantic. It makes me sick when these shitty men forcibly grab women, invade their personal spaces, and render them helpless by 'purring' in their ears, every. single. fucking. time.
It makes me sick that these misogynistic, heteronormative, and hypermasculine social conventions keep appearing in so-called feminist literature.
Strip away the idealized elements and you have what is basically the rich, white, cishet, alpha-male archetype. He's tall, usually six feet, physically fit and muscular with obligatory six pack abs, and conventionally handsome, with a chiseled jawline. He's usually clean-shaven, and any hair he may have on his body is minimal. He maintains composure at all times and rarely shows anxiety or uncertainty. He exudes raw charisma and charm and navigates social spaces effortlessly.
His hobbies, if he has any, are stereotypically masculine. When it comes to sex, he's confident, skilled, exclusively dominant, and always knows what to do without communicating with his partner. The sex he enjoys is usually rough, animalistic and overpowering. He may have been with several women in the past, and he may be regarded as a sex god, both in-universe and out.
His toxic traits are rarely portrayed as negative. But when they are, they're usually held up as some edgy, anti-hero persona and the reader is inevitably manipulated into sympathizing with him. He'll be portrayed as a tortured, wounded animal, and his female love interest (and, by proxy, the reader) will decide on some variation of 'I can fix him'.
He is essentially the unrealistic standard the ideal Proper Man; the one that men are expected to emulate, and that women are expected to swoon over.
But what really irks me is the lost potential.
If there are men who don't fit into this mold, they are depicted as pathetic, ineffectual, or any number of negative traits.
The narrative quietly and passive-aggressively mocks them and portray them as boring and un-sexy.
After all, is this the kind of man who will bravely swoop in and sweep a helpless woman off her feet? Of course not. Such men are boys. Wimps. Cowards.
These books are supposed to be fantasy: a genre in which easily anything can be explored. If faeries, magic, and contrived mating bonds can exist, then why can't we also have male characters who exist outside the stereotypical, hypermasculine mold?
Why is it that we can have so many fantastical, impossible, and wondrous magical forces, creatures, and peoples, but we can't have men who aren't possessive, abusive, or controlling?
Why is it that male characters, have to be so innately dominant, abusive, and violent? Why do they have to be so fit and muscular and strong?
Even worse, why is it treated as something that is so natural, so inescapable, even in the realm of fiction?
Where are the men who aren't tall and fit? Where are the men who don't have sculpted abs or chiseled jawlines? Where are the men who aren't lean and muscular?
Why canât we have men who are skinny or overweight? Why can't we have men who aren't handsome or attractive, but just average looking? Why can't we have men who are shorter or just average height?
Why can't we have men with non-stereotypical hobbies? Why can't we have men who love to read, or paint, or write, or sing, or dance, or build model kits?
Why canât we have men who are timid and shy? Why can't we have men who feel anxiety, fear, and sadness? Why can't we have men who aren't afraid of crying openly?
Why can't we have men who aren't sex gods? Why can't we have men who aren't confident in bed? Who are anxious, or even scared, at the prospect of sex? Who are passive instead of dominant? Who want to experience intimacy and affection?
Why canât we have men be kind and gentle and sweet for once?
I'll tell you why we can't. Because booktok says men like these are not 'man' enough. Booktok says men like these are the 'boring' option, and completely devoid of interesting quirks, traits or personality. Booktok says men like these are underserving of attention, and only fit to be background noise.
As far as booktok is concerned, men like these can't exist.
People give Eris shit for asking Rhysand for Nesta's hand and not her and honestly, fair, but there is another side to it.
Eris was raised in the Autumn Court and the whole scene took place in Court of Nightmares. He did was he was taught is respectful - asking the closest male relative (in Nesta's case it was her brother-in-law)
He was told it will be Nesta's decision and you remember what he did? Left her alone. Simply asked her if she came to decision next time they met.
Now, was he pissy when she rejected him? Absolutely. Definitely had to spend some time thinking about gravitational field of Cassian's schlong that ruined his chance for marriage TWICE. He didn't pressure her to marry him or even to "give him a chance", he didn't insult her - he insulted Cassian. He left her alone with an open door to "let him know if she changes her mind."
You know what Cassian did after being rejected? Insulted her repeatedly, stalked her and ultimately forced her to live with him đ
And honestly? If someone was stalking me I would be terrified of them. Traumatized Nesta is braver than me.
Eris is one of the only people who can keep up with Nesta on the dance floor, Bryce is a dancer, Lucien as a courtier can certainly dance, Gwyn and Azriel can sing songs for Nesta to dance to, Nesta is constantly compared to a queen and Helion wants her (Rhys too but heâs in denial) and Lanthys promises to crown her the queen of queens, Nesta loves reading and so does Lucien, Tamlin canonically has a giant library and so does Helion, and youâre telling me Nesta ended up withâŠthat.
People saying Rhysand was the only one who taught Feyre to read and write and that Tamlin wanted to keep Feyre illiterate...
Tamlin shows her his library, literally offers to teach her, to help her write her letters. And she says no.
He then writes her a series of limericks using words that he knows she struggles with (!) to help her understand their meaning through context.
Hello?? He tried writing love poems at first and then turned to filthy limericks instead. My heart.
That's so sweet! It's funny, it's witty. He's helping her while being careful to not embarrass her. He cares. He notices her struggle. He teaches her without patronizing her. Makes her laugh. Sharing something about himself in the process.
And he does it without having her write lines about him being the most handsome, most powerful and bestest man in the entire world. Funny how that's possible.
This is why I'll always pick Tamlin over Rhysand.
Feyre's Wings and the Valkyrie
The fact that Feyre uses her shapeshifting powers to give herself Illyrian wings, when Illyrian women, who were born with a call from the sky, are routinely subjected to wing clipping, having their power of flight stolen from them, while Feyre does nothing to advocate for the women of Illyria, has never lived with the people of Illyria, knows nothing about their culture, and uses her wings for stuff like sky sex, has already been called out for being dodgy.
Feyre defenders will hit back with "well why aren't you criticising the Valkyries then for cultural appropriation", but this comparison doesn't work for so many reasons.
The first, and it's a big one, the Valkyries weren't a single race. The Valkyries were made up of women from many different races. Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie aren't appropriating a single culture or race. They are women of different cultures, different races, coming together to train and work to achieve the status of Valkyrie, as the Valkyries did before them.
The Valkyries weren't born Valkyries, they became Valkyries through training. Training which Gwyn, Emerie and Nesta undergo.
Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn work. They practise. They put in the effort. They have studied the legacy of the Valkyries and they put in the leg work to follow in their legacy. Feyre's only connection to the Illyrian women is Rhys.
Furthermore, the women of Illyria are still living with Wing Clipping and discrimination. Their oppression is rife, and Feyre is living in luxury and absurd wealth in Velaris, popping their wings on and off at will like a costume or a party trick.
The Valkyries were wiped out in battle. Nesta, Emerie and Gwyn are continuing their legacy, reviving a practise that would have been lost if not for their efforts. Their training, their sacrifices and their loyalty to each other emulate the practises of the Valkyrie, and makes them worthy of the name.
Nesta, Emeria and Gwyn put in the effort. Feyre doesn't.
People saying Rhysand was the only one who taught Feyre to read and write and that Tamlin wanted to keep Feyre illiterate...

ânesta needs her karma for favoring elain over feyreâ SHE GOT IT. nesta poured her whole self into elain. didnât leave her side for WEEKS when she was catatonic. she was always the closest with elain, thought Elain understood her more than anyone. and as soon as the going got tough elain jumped ship without a second thought. she literally packed up nestaâs things to send to the house of wind. she came up there when nesta was depressed and told her to her face she âdoesnât need to be so miserable about it.â being locked up against her will. she brought up their father and then nesta very clearly told her not to bring up their father and to get out. what did elain do in response? bring up their father again and does not get out. then she acts shocked when nesta snaps after she violated clear set boundaries, runs away crying, and complains about Nesta ânot even trying to get better.â when has Elain once stuck up for Nesta? never. All the time, effort, and care was never reciprocated. Yeah, so Nesta got her karma for playing favorites and then some. Acting otherwise is being purposefully dense.
