Jamie (2026): I feel like anytime there's a young duo of any sort come up in the league, you kind of get that microscope and that attention. And for me personally, I just, kind of.. I was just there. Z was the main character for the whole time, like who's kidding who? So, I would just sit there, smile and laugh at all the interesting remarks and stuff that he would do.

Trevor’s favorite drink is cold brew, venti, less ice, black and unsweetened. It’s literally the easiest thing in the world to make. Trevor knows the menu; he knows the literal millions of combinations you can make at a Starbucks. Still, he gets his beloved cold brew, even leaving sticky notes in the back thanking the previous shift for making it. It’s one of the many reasons Jamie is head over heels for him.

“A cursory search on Briere reveals that the term “fan favorite” was applied to him in Phoenix, Buffalo and especially Philadelphia. This is not a coincidence. Briere was listed, generously, at 5-9 and 174 pounds. While he wasn’t Nathan Gerbe, he wasn’t exactly of the size and stature that was required for most offensive stars of his generation. There’s always something enthralling about a player that plays so much bigger than his god-given frame, and Briere was a tough bugger. Which frequently meant he was something less than a fan favorite for the other 29 teams facing him each season, but that tends to happen when your signature face-off move is a stick knob across the other guy’s jaw. But Briere was a fan favorite because he, well, favored the fans. He didn’t join teams, he joined communities. He made time for the fans, and made time to help them any way he could: The Daniel Briere Foundation is over a decade old, and its annual charity golf and poker tournaments have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in Canada. He was involved in Ed Snider’s youth hockey initiatives. Just this summer, while contemplating retirement, he took part in a charity hockey tournament in South Jersey. All of it humanized Briere in ways that don’t always happen for star players. So you couldn’t help but feel for the guy when his divorce was public to the point where it became chirp fodder for Pat Kaleta, leading to that memorable “HBO 24/7” subplot where single dad Briere had Claude Giroux as a ‘cool uncle’ house guest for his kids. You couldn’t help but shed a tear reading about the sudden loss of his mother, either. There was a logo on the front, a name on the back and a heart on the sleeve of his jersey.”

this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, he’s stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, they’re still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but they’re still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewer’s lived experience. They’re still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And it’s beautiful. It’s beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because he’s presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.

I want to preface this by saying that heated rivalry the television program is of course unimpeachable in my heart. with that out of the way guys and I mean this quite seriously are there any gay hockey romances that are actually about hockey. is there any gay hockey romance that's Brokeback mountain for gay hockey because I love acceptance and love and everything but i really profoundly need something set in the world (real) of hockey (real). love and light to everyone and everything and peace and love on planet earth but instead of I love hockey and here's a brighter idea of hockey I want I love hockey and here's actual hockey. idk why everyone says they love hockey so much and then they don't write about hockey as a sport or a culture FUCK!!! I don't understand why a whole sport about beating the shit out of each other has such a wholesome romance genre attached and I mean that of course with love in my heart but oh my god. hockey is an objectively absurdist social experiment for sickos who make hundreds of millions of dollars for the privilege of ending a season with internal bleeding and I want a book about that. is it such a crime to want to be as miserable as Connor mcdavid is
